[00:00:08]New soil, new roots.

[00:00:13]Moments of perception can build into a lifetime of spiritual serenity, [music] as I have excellent reason to know.

[00:00:21]Roots of reality supplanting the neurotic underbrush will hold fast despite the high winds of the forces which would [music] destroy us or which we would use to destroy ourselves.

[00:00:35]Page 173, [music] as Bill sees it.

[00:00:39]I came to AA green, a seedling quivering with exposed tap roots.

[00:00:46]It was for survival, but it was a beginning.

[00:00:50]I stretched, developed, twisted, but with the help of others, my spirit eventually burst up from the roots.

[00:01:00]I was free.

[00:01:02]I acted, withered, went inside, prayed, acted again, understood anew as one moment of perception [music] struck.

[00:01:12]Up from my roots, spirit arms lengthened into strong, green shoots.

[00:01:18]High spring and servant step in skyward.

[00:01:22]Here on earth, God unconditionally [music] continues the legacy of higher love.

[00:01:27]My AA life put me on a different footing.

[00:01:32]My roots [music] grasp a new soil.

[00:01:38]I know it can be a dark, lonely, hopeless [music] feeling place.

[00:01:43]I won't tell you it's easy, but I will tell you there's an end, that you don't have to do this alone.

[00:01:50][music] So, ask for help today, to just get through today.

[00:01:56]Whatever we need to do today.

[00:01:59]God, grant serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the [music] things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
