[00:00:03]>> I did one of the horror flicks from this summer, so I had to do the other. Today we are watching backs. Back rooms I actually saw in theaters, but I realized that I kind of do have a lot to say about this movie, so I wanted to make a commentary and watch it with you guys.

[00:00:19]Backs and Obsession always kind of get clumped together when talking about it within movies, especially this summer, for two main reasons, right? Maybe three. For one, they were major financial successes. Two, they were both original stories. And three, they were both made by very young and former YouTubers. Meaning that these financial successes of original stories came from people that did not train in a traditional sense, which not only surprised but impressed many. The director Kane Parsons was known on YouTube for his backrooms short film series and then turned it into a full feature film. My knowledge of Backrooms and the lore is not very extensive. I've never played the game. I actually have never watched the short film series on YouTube. So, my knowledge of it is pretty limited. I know a basic understanding of it similarly to my knowledge on Slender Man. I know the story and I know kind of the concept of the back rooms and of liinal spaces. And I'm excited to talk about it with you guys today because I feel like it is a little bit more of a movie where there's a lot of different interpretations of different scenes of different concepts within it. I feel like it's kind of just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this world. And I'm really excited to read your comments. So, don't be shy in the comments. [00:04:35]level watches back rooms at just 24 years old is almost as iconic. My biggest comparison to the backrooms was as above so below.

[00:04:50]It really reminded me of like Dante's Inferno, like this kind of like seven layers of hell concept. Not that I know much about it, but I just reminded me of As Above So Below when they're in the catacombs and they just like keep going deeper into the layers of hell levels.

[00:05:05]Level seven of the back rooms.

[00:05:09]Some people wanted the whole film filmed like this and I don't really know cuz I love found footage movies, but I just don't think it really would have worked so well for such an obscure or like big concept of the backs, you know? Like I feel like it wouldn't have worked if we only saw this like very unknown angle of the backs. I liked getting to know more about the world and what the backrooms was through a nonfound footage lens.

[00:05:36][panting] We need found footage underwater because this is exactly how it sounds when you're like scuba diving.

[00:05:46]Here we go. Here we go. Cuz this right here is not a back room's memory. This is stuff that they brought into the back rooms. Correct. Like it's not a memory of the original plane. It is the original plane products within the backrooms.

[00:06:05]>> I didn't get a good look at it, but there's some there's something else in here.

[00:06:09]>> There's something else in here with me.

[00:06:12][ __ ] Please.

[00:06:20]>> [screaming] >> And I knew that was coming, too. And I knew that was coming. And And you knew that. And you knew that I knew that was coming. And here's a big concept of animals within the back rooms. Did that animal just sneak into the back rooms like the fly does later, or is it a memory of the animals? And can animals be remembered in the back rooms as well?

[00:06:47]No credit. Cuz this in a sense means that everything that kind of happens later on was kind of already a memory within the back rooms. Cuz this is the furthest that he had ever gotten. He's like, I haven't been out this far.

[00:07:00]>> I've never been out this far before, son.

[00:07:03]>> So the furniture store has already started its memory process of the back within the back rooms.

[00:07:12]But [ __ ] you. Just [ __ ] off cuz that Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Pause.

[00:07:22]Pause. Pause. Pause pause. Pause. Pause.

[00:07:25]Pause. I'm I'm sweating also. And I know that a lot of people said that Backrooms wasn't that scary. I actually did find it to be very scary. There is something about Backrooms that gives me like the heebie-jebies and like is a very eerie feeling. Like I'm I am sweating right now. It's I I feel like I've like I've like timetraveled back into time like watching like Hereditary for the first time on this channel where I'm like profusely sweating which is interesting because I have seen this movie like I have seen backs I have an understanding of what's going to happen but there's still something about this concept that very much scares me. There's an idea of being alone and isolated and not knowing what's around the corner that really does just h just gets the pits sweating, but it also gets my heart racing. But I also think it depends on where you watch it. I do think some movies will get skewed depending on your watching experience. So I think when people saw Backrooms, a lot of people were coming off of Obsession when they went into Backrooms. An Obsession is more of a movie where you can kind of like make reactions to because it's more it's not as cons I don't know vague as the back rooms. There's kind of a bit of more of an understanding of what's going on. But with back rooms, you really needed that like super super quiet theater to really immerse yourself into the story and to what's going on. Like this was not something where like a dinner in a movie like a dining in like a studio movie grill was going to be good. Like having the waiters around you kind of like asking people orders as you're watching this just like kind of took you out of the immersive experience which you could say about every single movie. But I think there are some movies where you can kind of like it doesn't really change the experience that much if someone's ordering like nachos next to you. But I feel like for back rooms, I feel like the most pivotal and best viewing experience for back rooms would be for a completely silent, maybe even empty theater or at home, lights off, like very very isolated. I think that's how you can really immerse yourself into that experience.

[00:09:36]And now I also have confirmation that the entity here is the same entity.

[00:09:50][screaming] And also that's Avon Joia from Victorious. That's freaking Beck from Victorious. Oh my god. And no one wants to talk about that scene. That that part where the TV turns off and it's just a bunch of [ __ ] people watching it.

[00:10:05][ __ ] scary as [ __ ] No one wants to talk about how [ __ ] scary those [ __ ] are. My only my biggest complaint about this movie is that I think they should have opened up her plot a little bit more. I think that we got so much of an insight on Clark that I wish we got a little bit more of a understanding of her character because I think we get hints of it and ideas, but it's never really fully played out by the end of the story, which could be like a purposeful, but I think that it would have been good because you don't have that many people you're following.

[00:10:41]It's really her and Clark.

[00:10:44]>> The path you made, it's the one that kept you safe. So, I think just having their two storylines kind of paralleling were really interesting where maybe and maybe that's also the point that we don't need to hear her side of the story and her perspective on her own arc because it mirrors Clark so heavily that like it's almost like we already gave you the plot like you know this and you know this >> the glass I broke the glass and she comes running down to see what happened and things escalated. And how do you feel?

[00:11:19]>> Well, I was I was drunk and um I felt stupid. I was angry.

[00:11:26]>> I think the brilliance of Backrams in my opinion. I I Okay, who cares if it's my opinion? This is my channel. Of course, it's my opinion. I don't know why I got angry, guys. I think what's great about Backrooms is that it gives the false sense that Clark is an unreliable narrator and that Mary, I believe her name is Mary, that she is the reliable narrator when in fact they are both unreliable narrators of their own stories. And so I think that's really interesting because I think immediately you can tell with Clark's roleplay here about what happened the night when his wife left him. You can kind of already tell that he's an unreliable narrator and that he's not really living in reality by the way he describes it. It's interesting cuz it's almost like in a manipulative way you can see him take accountability in some ways. This false sense of accountability that almost gives you the idea that this person is self-aware. Well, I was drunk and I I you know, I I hurt people in my life and I just better off alone. But in a sense, he's he doesn't believe that truly. He doesn't believe that he hurts people and he should be alone. He feels resentful of the fact that his wife left him and he feels like that is unjust in his life and he doesn't believe that he should be alone and he doesn't truly believe that he hurts people. And so I think that's interesting because you can already tell that he is unreliable and then you believe that Mary is more reliable because she is in this more trusting position, right? She's the therapist and she also is a little bit more sound of mind than Clark. And so I think it's interesting that it sets up the audience to believe that she's more reliable when in fact they both are, and you will see this throughout the movie, parallels of each other, mirrors of each other that are like kind of two sides of the same coin in v various amounts of ways.

[00:13:23]>> I don't know. I think he kind of ate with this infomercial. Like I don't know. I think he did. I I like the commercial. It's sad that it like created such a crazy entity full of resentment and hate, but I liked the commercial. I did >> here at Captain.

[00:13:38]>> Boom. Entity made. Backrooms remembered that. Oh, boom. I love her and her gay little boyfriend. That's my favorite.

[00:13:46]That's my favorite part of any horror movie is the girl and her gay little boyfriend. I wish we got a little bit more of them, right? Like I think they could have been really cool.

[00:13:56]>> Expert. Why? Why is it why is it going that way?

[00:14:00]>> Better question.

[00:14:02]What is it even connected to?

[00:14:04]>> And I love that. I love that like almost my interpretation that it like the because it's one level down, the back rooms already starts kind of forming and and having this memory. So guys, check in your basement. We don't have basements here in Texas. Found that out.

[00:14:19]I thought basements weren't real for a long time. It's interesting. So check your basements and see if you find anything interesting. And if there's a back rooms down, is there a different set of rooms up?

[00:14:32]Think about that. And look at her >> just as lonely as clerk. I'm telling you, with their like [ __ ] ass like commercials, their [ __ ] ass '90s commercials promoting their stuff.

[00:14:42]Lonely as hell TV dinner. No. Like, come on, guys. That's my friend. Okay.

[00:14:45]Barbara has red hair. I'm like taking note of this because when I was watching it the first time, I couldn't remember that much because my backgrounds was remembering it. I don't want to say that. I actually think referring to it as my back rooms is not a connotation that I want to put out there.

[00:15:01]>> Your consciousness is a room full of memories that is constantly evolving.

[00:15:07]>> Full of memories that is constantly evolving.

[00:15:09]>> The latch was never broken. [music] Are you ready to step through?

[00:15:17]>> See how she like didn't [ __ ] come out on the other [laughter] side of that door? You see how like she didn't like exit on the other side? What the [ __ ] was that?

[00:15:28]And question, does that like weird like opening illusion happen at all the openings for the back rooms? Because I'm assuming there's multiple different entry points to the backrooms and do they all appear in that similar way? Or do people just like [ __ ] fall through it and that's how they find it? Oh.

[00:15:53]I'm just testing things out, guys. I'm just I'm just testing things out to make sure nothing nothing's happening here. Ooh, I'd be so [ __ ] scared of my back rooms. Oh, I need to stop saying it like that. My memory of the back like back rooms like cuz I have so many crazy like shits in here and like stuffed animals that would just be so creepy in this world. Like it actually would be so [ __ ] scary. Well, and does this opening ever close? Like are the openings just existing? Like there's there's so many openings that exist within the back rooms and they never close. Like it's not like a portal that opens and closes. Like it's always open.

[00:16:31]That's a question I have.

[00:16:35]It looks so good though. Like it just has that that feeling of nostalgia and like melancholy look to it. I don't know how to describe it. It just feels so familiar yet foreign at the same time.

[00:16:50]And I also have a question about what the backroom's entity is because at the beginning in the short film series, it's kind of this like vague idea. that this one is very personal and it seems like a personal demon for Clark. And I wonder do does everybody have their own kind of personal entity that they face when they discover the backrooms or is it always did it always come from the furniture store and that's been the entity there the entire time for this back rooms? I think I have more questions than answers.

[00:17:27]It's also so weird that there's just this little like cupboard that can be opened and walked through when it seems like everything else in the back rooms almost seems like solidified within place, especially within the walls. So, it kind of makes me think that like this tunnel is like made and not just like created in the back rooms. And if Avon Joia if Avon Joia died then why did they keep his bag there? Or was his bag there the entire time and it was always at that hiding spot? But I'm like, he had a whole hazmat suit on. Like, why not have the backpack on?

[00:17:58]>> I remember thinking, >> I'm about to beat this [ __ ] up.

[00:18:07]>> Cuz at that point, like, I'm not getting back. Like, I just don't understand how we're getting back. We've gone through the hole. We've like turned left, right, left, center. Like, we like what's happening? And those are obviously the girl and her like her gay boyfriend's shoes already. And that's the memory of the infomercial. Like that's the parrot.

[00:18:26]That's a huge version of the chair. Like ginormous. And size and volume of things really is a mystery within this because some entities are remembered smaller as they are. And some are just huge.

[00:18:46]He just like not running fast enough. I don't understand how he's like not sprinting. Oh my god. Cuz he's lucky that's where he ended up and he didn't end up in the [ __ ] pool room.

[00:19:03]He's like, I had to come back.

[00:19:05]>> All right, guys. I got to run.

[00:19:07]>> All right, I got to >> I had to come back for more. And he picks the most like normal thing in there, right? Like everyone's like, why did he go back and get that stool? It's like, okay, you guys are stupid. It obviously goes back in there so he can have some sort of proof of what just happened. My question is not why he got the stool. My question is why didn't he get one of the freaky ones that was like stuck together and weirdly upside down? That's what I would have said is that why didn't you get one that was a little bit more weird? And does the entity not escape because the entity doesn't want to escape or does the entity not escape because it doesn't know how to or because it's not allowed to?

[00:19:44]It's also interesting that they got the camera there, but then they couldn't find the opening or more not even the opening, but like the more hints about where the location of the opening was because there is so many things that indicate the type of location that it's under, right? It's obviously furniture or some sort of like antique store. And it just seems interesting that they put the camera there and they obviously have access to those sides, but then they couldn't figure out where the store or the opening was located. And I also don't believe that the scientist looked at the footage and was scared because he saw a person there. I think he was scared because they already know what the entity looks like and it looks like [ __ ] him.

[00:20:24]>> You're no G.

[00:20:26]>> Are there any people in these offices?

[00:20:28]>> Not that I've seen. For all I know, there's hundreds of people I just haven't seen.

[00:20:33]I think he fully knows who's there.

[00:20:37]>> Like, he's been there every single night, right, since that happened. I think he fully knows what's down there.

[00:20:41]I think he fully knows what the entity is. Like, I don't think that's a surprise. We're on the same page with that. That he lies to her when she's like, "Is there anyone else down there?"

[00:20:48]And he's like, "There could be." It's like, I know you know who the [ __ ] is down there. It's you. Because he's an unreliable narrator. We're seeing it as if he's telling the truth all the time because we witness what he witnessed, but >> he's an unreliable narrator. I'm going to come back here with proof and you're going to owe me a serious [ __ ] apology.

[00:21:08]>> Pause. Cuz why hasn't he done that? Like before he even goes, why didn't he get proof? Because he obviously sees the camera that's in the back rooms. So, he knows that he technically can bring the camera down there. And even just footage of the initial room would be proof enough, right?

[00:21:26]Do you see also how the sky the clouds are not moving? I just have to point that out. The clouds are completely still and it is like painted. Like the nothing is moving, guys.

[00:21:38]>> I mean, right. You see see it's um it's fine.

[00:21:42]>> Where are we?

[00:21:44]>> That's what I'm trying to figure out.

[00:21:46]>> Like I just don't know why he doesn't tell them more before they go through cuz I think he just I think he wanted to feed that beast. That's my theory is that he wanted to feed the beast.

[00:21:53]>> Is it part of your store?

[00:21:55]>> If it belongs to someone, I haven't met him yet.

[00:21:57]>> Liar. Liar. I don't know why. I just am like liar. Like he's a liar. Like >> Okay, just tell him just one thing. If I don't come back, you'll tell my mom I love her, right?

[00:22:08]>> Okay.

[00:22:09]>> You see how Clark was like, I will cuz he knows what the [ __ ] is about to go down. I don't know.

[00:22:14]>> Tell him what you need.

[00:22:18]>> Oh, this shot was so good. It looks so crazy.

[00:22:25]>> Like, girl, that's your shirt, [ __ ] Is that my sweater? Okay.

[00:22:31]Ew. I know it's the head. Like, I know it's the head of just like the cardboard cutout that the [ __ ] entity ate and like threw against the wall and tried to eat because it thought it was a real person. But still, it actually like gives my Oh.

[00:22:45]I don't know why it freaks me out so bad.

[00:22:49]>> Hey, uh, let's >> This was like the den. And I think Clark knew that this was the den. I I think he knew that. And you knew that.

[00:22:59]>> It's okay.

[00:22:59]>> What did you say >> here? Hey, what kind of [ __ ] KNOT IS THIS?

[00:23:03]>> What kind of knot is this?

[00:23:05]>> I think he did it on purpose.

[00:23:11]>> Like, they didn't stand a chance. I'm sorry. Like, they really like held him for two seconds. [snorts] Ew. I don't know. I think it was the perfect combination of found footage and not found footage. I think like this little like segment I think like it balanced out the whole movie so perfectly. I don't know. I'm just like a backrooms defender. Like I really do love it. And maybe I don't know. I just think Barbara looked really different in the picture that they show of Barbara.

[00:23:36]Like I don't know. I just don't feel like this business lady looked like Barbara at all. Obviously she has like seven different eyes, but still in just like an aesthetics alone like she didn't have like a bob. Cuz okay, we get more information. and she's kind of living in this her mom's an agoraphobe hoarder. It's not a safe living situation. She's dealing with neglect.

[00:23:57]And this also another theory is that the mom found an opening to the backrooms and that's why she developed this sort of schizophrenia or like this um became an agorophobe. Um I don't really know. I I don't really know. And that's kind of the thing I wish we had a little bit more of an understanding with is Mary and her mother. I think it's cool that you can kind of theorize a little bit and maybe it's more clear-cut than I realize. Maybe I'm just not watching it correctly. I do think that Mary has a connections to the back rooms before Clark.

[00:24:31]>> I opened the window. I won't be coming back.

[00:24:36]>> How'd he get a phone? Did he call her before he went down there or did he come out to tell her to lure her back in because he knew he needed to feed the entity more and he knew that she would come, right? Also, again, no clouds ever move within this movie. A cloud has never moved.

[00:24:58]I wish flies disappeared like that.

[00:25:03]Oh, now I'm the bad guy. Now I'm the bad guy cuz I don't like flies. Oh, okay.

[00:25:09]Oh, I love this effect they you love the lens that they use for when they're kind of entering the back rooms. I love this like wide. It's a little bit distorted and it looks so in their face. I love it. I love it. It looks so good.

[00:25:33]Also, where did the furniture go? There was a huge stack of furniture when he first goes in here. Did he move all of that? Cuz that was a lot. And some of it didn't look like it was only on the surface. Some of it looked like it was in the floor. So, what happened to all that furniture? Cuz it's the same exact entrance that when he enters in the first place. Was it there when Cat and Bobby went in?

[00:26:00]He's right behind me, isn't he? Oh my god. [laughter] too loud.

[00:26:12][laughter] >> It's only me.

[00:26:20]You know me.

[00:26:22]>> It's only me. You know me. And you know that.

[00:26:26]>> You've always known that.

[00:26:33]See, her dreams are so interesting and her memories are so interesting. And if Backrooms is all about misremembering things and the memory of something on the original plane, does she misremember things when she's looking back at her childhood?

[00:26:59]This was the best possible way to visualize the back rooms and the descent within them. I think it was perfect. I think you needed that like visual of how much worse it gets the deeper you go cuz sometimes it just devolves less but then it starts creating new pathways. Like she says earlier, you want to break and your mind wants to go through the same pathway every time because it's familiar, but you want to make a new one and it's so interesting that it devolves and then creates something new.

[00:27:34]>> I don't know. I think it's a good movie, guys. I don't know what you guys are talking about. This is the best movie.

[00:27:38]>> Somewhere out there is a guy in a striped shirt, but in here he's remembered.

[00:27:47]>> Cuz is it Barbara in the back? I just feel like it doesn't look like Barbara.

[00:27:51]And I know it's not supposed to look like Barbara, but like that is like two different types of red hair, but everyone says it's Barbara. Everyone says it's Barbara. Everyone says it's wife, so I'll just believe it. And how she's so scared of him. And so I get it.

[00:28:02]I get it.

[00:28:03]>> The best part, >> you can eat them. Ready?

[00:28:11][laughter] [gasps] The best part, you can eat them. Like, can you eat him?

[00:28:18]It doesn't really look like something you can eat. [panting and crying] >> It's my uh assistant manager.

[00:28:26]>> I think he kept Cat's head to feed to the entity. And that's why he called Mary down so he could have something new to feed to the entity. Right.

[00:28:34]>> BLAME YOUR BRAIN. YOU ARE YOUR [ __ ] BRAIN, YOU [ __ ] >> You are your [ __ ] brain, you [ __ ] Period. And she ate him up. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I'm like I'm right where I'm supposed to be. Oh, >> he's such a good character. He's so sad.

[00:28:51]It's so interesting to see someone dive into this hell-like space and say, "I belong here, and I I I like it here." I don't know. It's so interesting.

[00:29:02]Look at her. Look at her. Do you see that? That's the fastest anyone's ever been.

[00:29:10][screaming] Cuz what is the difference between the still lives and the entities? Like why does like his memory of himself within the back rooms is so harmful and violent whereas some other people's memories in the back rooms are just existing.

[00:29:38]>> Oh, I hated that she stopped right here.

[00:29:40]like you need to keep it moving.

[00:29:43]Oh my god. But it's like when did we get to like how do you get to those rooms that have like this open ending right here?

[00:29:51]Like does anybody ever get to those rooms where it's like an open ending that doesn't come through like an a door? When is a door not a door when it's a jar?

[00:30:05]Oh, [panting] you see how it never Oh, that was like about maybe like a 4 second fall. Isn't like every second like 100 ft or something? I don't know. I think I just made that up. Like, [ __ ] move the [ __ ] tip that cabinet over that [ __ ] hole cuz she just went up. So, she came from a lower level, so she went up a level and she's going up another level. So, she's evolving. She's not devolving down into the back room. She's going back up. But this is still not original plane.

[00:30:40]This is still a back room. Like whack that freaking leg.

[00:30:48]Yep.

[00:30:50]Oh my god.

[00:30:54]What? And what was this? Why did that trigger something? Was that always like the safeguard point? Like, was the man always the safeguard point of the cardboard cutout to reach that in case things went ary?

[00:31:10]Come on, girl.

[00:31:13]Get up. I need you TO GET UP. OH MY GOD.

[00:31:21]And the entity bleeds cuz the still lives don't bleed and don't feel pain, but the entities do. The entity feels pain.

[00:31:30]And if the hazmat people nuked her with the [ __ ] fog is >> and Clark obviously saw the hazmat suit people cuz they were on the drawing within the wall. Why didn't they get him out? I don't know. Like why were they just letting him live there? Because he was the entity and they wanted to see what would happen. It's like trying to see like if you see your own doppelganger, don't run. Like if you were trapped in a room with your doppelganger. Uh first thing um could you establish how you uh got in here?

[00:32:05]>> So that is not an entrance point. They are in the back rooms as they speak.

[00:32:10]What?

[00:32:12]What the [ __ ] The scientist lab is in the back rooms.

[00:32:15]>> Were you looking for this man right here?

[00:32:18]>> Why did they redact Captain Clark? Why did they redact Captain Clark? Like we can see it, >> but I don't understand it. I don't I I I can't even describe it >> now. You want me to describe it?

[00:32:30]>> Pause. That's interesting because you would have thought if they wanted to know someone, if they wanted to explore it more and they kept seeing Clark explore the backroom so intently and so filled with curiosity that they would have gone in to get him to make him part of the research, but they didn't. So that means that there's something that happens that they see between him and Captain Clark that they can't trust him to go back in and fully dive into the research of it all and find out more about it. Because if anything, Clark's amount of time within the back rooms is so much further than Mary's. Mary's there for maybe a few hours, not even.

[00:33:08]She's really there for such a short amount of time. I guess we don't really know because she gets she passes out.

[00:33:14]Clark has been there for days and they still didn't go in and get him. Even though they know that he has this intense curiosity about the bathrooms and they still don't go in and get him.

[00:33:25]Even though that would be the perfect prime subject to go in and test further of the bathroom. Someone that has almost little to no fear about what's going to happen down there. Someone who has such a direct correlation to the entity consuming people down there. But they didn't. So that means they saw something within those few weeks that they could not go in to get him, but they went in immediately to get Mary.

[00:33:49]>> What's going to happen to me, Phil?

[00:33:50]>> That decision is not up to me.

[00:33:52]>> Like, who is it up to then?

[00:33:58]>> He's like, you're not leaving here anytime soon, sister. That's so sad.

[00:34:02]They just went in for overtime and then they died.

[00:34:14]>> [screaming] >> It makes me It creeps me the freak out.

[00:34:17]I don't know why this one really just shiver me timbers on that one. That one like actually she looks so [ __ ] creepy, bro. Like she actually looks so actually so [ __ ] creepy. Also, people not that people are stupid. I think that everybody was really confused by that part because they were like, "Did they just put her in the back rooms to like rot away forever?" And like obviously um not obviously because I'm sure there's a lot of things within this video that are obvious and that I didn't catch, but I think that at the end obviously it is just the remembered version of her down deeper within the levels of the backrooms of the original plane, which is her talking to Phil. The only thing that is interesting or kind of off about that is why isn't there a remembered version of Phil and why isn't there a remembered version of the hazmat suit people? Why isn't there a remembered version of a lot of things, right? And that's that kind of is my more question about the logistics and like the like world of the back rooms is the memory of it all because we can obviously see that it's taking memory of her and all right.

[00:35:21]So, we see this in uh the the demonstration of going deeper down within the back rooms that some things get lost and then it opens up a new path. So, that could also be the case that it doesn't remember Phil because um there's not as a big of a a foundation to his original plain self. In my opinion, I think that the entities and the still lives grow more when they are stagnant in life and when they are more um isolated and lonely. I think that it remembers them more. And I think that was also interesting to see the memory of Mary as a still life instead of an entity like Captain Clark. So, she wasn't remembered down there or created as this harmful entity. She was remembered in a way that just existed and felt no pain um like the other still lives within the movie. I really loved Backrams. The moment I saw it, I really had such a fun time with it. I loved the concept. I think there's so much meat and juice to the story that you can elaborate on and it definitely seems like that's something that they plan to do because it is such a more vague concept of the world. I think the story line is pretty straightforward of Mary and Clark and kind of this um repressed trauma that they deal with and how it comes out in different ways. After watching it the second time, I still do wish I got a little bit more from Mary's character. I think that her story was actually quite compelling and I think I just wished we got a little bit more [clears throat] clarity a little bit about her character and about obviously it's this whole thing she's struggling with her childhood and her mother and and her therapy of going back to bad memories or isolated tendencies is because it's a familiar place to you obviously applies to herself and in the end we see her break that and create a new pathway right she takes something from her past that is keeping her within this isolated lonely place and uses it to escape the backrooms and escape that and make a new path. I think I just wanted more from her because I thought found her character and her backstory to be interesting and her mother and what that really meant. I think that the two mains just did an amazing job and I think they really just I don't know were super compelling. I loved their journeys. I think that Clark, we really got this full story from him and we really got to see the decline of it all. And then I think I just wanted a little bit more from Mary and a little bit more on the company at hand. I think it's like a very main character right up front and then we kind of lose it and then at the end it's just kind of like like we're just trying to figure it out too.
