So, as we all know, we gather today on this Martyrs Day not for celebration alone, but for remembrance. We stand together to honor those who gave what could never be returned, their lives, which is much more greater than lot something larger than themselves.

[00:02:32]A martyr is not defined by how they they died, but how they live.

[00:02:38]So, they chose courage over silence, principle over um how do I say this? Principle over comfort.

[00:02:50]They step out of their comfort zone and also they chose duty over safety.

[00:02:57]Today, we may not agree to every cause of the battle to recognize the weight of the choice that they have made, but to lay down your life is the final statement of what you believe. So, um there is a value that says there are values that mattered more than my own life, my own freedom, my own career, my own future. And that's why today our martyrs died fighting for what they believe, fighting for the freedom for us, courage for us, dignity, justice, faith, community, and family.

[00:03:41]So, Martyrs Day is kind of painful to even observe because it forces us to confront our loss once again. And there are empty chairs at dinner tables in someone's home. There are children who grew up without hearing their parents' voices. And there are stories that are unfinished, that are left untold.

[00:04:05]But we cannot even though we cannot do undo the pain, but we can refuse to let it be meaningless.

[00:04:22]So what do we owe them? And yet after that I will continue my speech in a major dialect. First, we owe them memory.

[00:04:39]And never to let their name or their sacrifices flatten into some slogans. We owe them our memory to remember them as our near and dear ones, our family and loved ones, and as people, not just as symbols.

[00:05:00]We can acknowledge the complexity, the mistakes, the human cost while still giving there our deepest respect. And when we are true to ourselves, truth is the cleanest form of respect. And on third thirdly, we owe them continuity.
