This video explores the philosophical concept that parenthood and existence itself can be viewed as a form of incarceration, where the 'inner child' represents our primal, reactive brain that needs nurturing and self-parenting. The discussion argues that only those who have experienced parenthood can legitimately critique it, and that true anti-natalism requires understanding the full spectrum of human experience rather than recoiling from personal disappointment. The video connects this to the idea that life operates on frequencies and resonance, where self-parenting involves tuning our inner child through understanding, love, and the cultivation of our frontal cortex to achieve harmony and peace.

Episode 124: The Inner Child and the Outer Prison | Reading Your CommentsAdded:
[music] >> So, some further comments section we're going to do here.
So, Drifter Dreams says, "In regard to Tom's criticism regarding your having brought a number of people into this world and subsequent doubt of legitimacy of your message, who else other than a couple of parents should be able to assert that parenthood is actually a bad and vile act? Intentionally childless individuals don't understand that reality, and as such have no room to judge according to a plethora of yapping heads online. So, who does have the right to suggest that the willful conception and binding of a soul to life in a sensory body attuned to pain and suffering is not the wonderful thing that we've all been led to believe that it is?"
>> [snorts] >> Yeah, hear, hear. Exactly. Who else but us? Those who have already gone through the mill, so to speak. We've been through.
So, we've come out the other side, and we've assessed it calmly, see? We've considered the whole situation calmly and clear-headedly. That's another thing I was saying to Danny just a while ago.
You know, there's people there's parents who have been through the mill, but they've been left damaged and distorted, and that's why they've come to that position. The experience has not been enjoyable for them. So, so there's also anti-natalists who have come that way.
They've turned away bitter and twisted from the experience because it hasn't worked out right, but they're still not they're still not fully, in my opinion, anti-natalists or abolitionists.
You see, they still aren't. They're just recoiling from a bad experience. If the experience was enjoyable and absolutely smooth, you would find that those people would then rerun it. They would like to rerun it.
They still haven't lost the desire to reproduce. They still haven't found the inner child and nurtured that one and parented that one.
Once you go through that process, that process that Jung described, you know, the sacred marriage, the hieros gamos, I believe. Hieros gamos, sacred marriage. The marriage of the self.
Everything needs to be found within, as we said before.
So, that's what it is. You're not It's not that you're going on holiday desperately seeking Shangri-La or some peace outside of yourself. You're already at peace. You're at home always.
But, that doesn't exclude physical travel, physical movement on the earth.
You have to because you have to spread your seeds widely, so to speak.
The metaphysical seeds, the metaphorical seeds, the information, the data, what we talked about, the truth transmission.
You have to move around. You Why be located? You see, there's there's you can pop up anywhere. That's what we're thinking about. This is the next incarnation of our kind of, you know, our artistic projects.
This is the next incarnation of the project. It's one project, really, the whole thing. All of your life is an art project, really, when you consider it.
So, this is the next incarnation, the pop-ups, the open university, so that we can move around, see, and draw attention.
Because it's very difficult. It's a needle in a haystack for most people on the in the world. You see, it's not being advertised well because people have not You know, there's no coalition, as I said before. There's no mass body of abolitionists.
So, we haven't got it to that stage yet.
The original abolitionist, William Wilberforce, it took him 20 years of, you know, every day campaigning, passionate kind of, you know, passionate going out there and drumming up attention and everything. He managed to collect a He managed to um attract a collection of entrepreneurs to help him out. So, I think the original core group was 12.
And they managed to work for 20 years, two decades to to develop the abolitionist movement or to push it, to get it moving.
So, that's why I call it abolitionism 2.0 because it did move, and it did get rid of a lot of the, you know, the heinous slavery, on top of the table slavery, but then it slid underground. And also, obviously not forgetting the main the main slavery is life itself. It's being imprisoned, incarnated in flesh.
That's why I say incarnation is incarceration. So, it needs to be pushed again.
It's lost momentum. You see, the whole thing it died. You see, it's kind of grind ground to a halt because on top of the table it seems as if slavery's gone.
It's been abolished.
You see?
So, but it hasn't, obviously.
And, you know, so it needs to be pushed again, and that's the that's why there's another movement required, a coalition.
So, they can push give it another push.
You know, from, you know, into realizing that this place is the penitentiary.
This is the plantation, the planet itself. That's the push that's required.
Once people see that they're on a plantation and they shouldn't be here, there's no need for them to be slaves and incarcerated in flesh, then maybe they can see, they can attune to the idea of not bringing any others into the penitentiary. Then we can get on with enjoying ourselves for the remaining time we've got here, those of us who are incarcerated.
Enjoy ourselves for the remaining time, and then finally understand that the liberation is death. Death is liberation. It is the way out of the penitentiary. It's the only way to peace.
Okay, so we're now moving on to another comment by Base Hell 666. If you remember, he's made some interesting comments before.
So, I'm assuming it's a he, but it might not be. The oldest reptile part of the brain is fully wired at birth and serves as the main tool for infants to communicate needs, hunger, cuddles, nappy changing, etc. It is a key component of emotional regulation and downstairs brain toddler behavior.
It is connected to the brainstem and limbic system, including the amygdala, so it also plays a major role in managing breathing, basic survival functions, and fight-flight-freeze reactions, stimulus-response stuff.
This part of the brain is ancient, but it never grows old, and it never grows up. It remains at work all the way through the adulthood through adulthood till your death.
If left to its own devices, it will most likely cause you endless embarrassment because of its impulsive, reactive, and emotional behavior.
I guess we are on the same page, only the inner child thing is a broader emotional and psychological concept.
It's subjective, so I can only really only speak I can really only speak for myself, but my inner child has this emotional, reactive, and sometimes impulsive quality, and when my inner child's wounds, engrams, are triggered, I often experience what can only be described as a takeover by my lower brain, ooga booga, as he calls it.
Eliphas Levi's depiction of Baphomet comes to mind. Part lizard, part ape, part fish, part bird, full-time pain in the ass. Do not add alcohol.
But, you are totally right. The baby inside needs a loving hug and a safe home and a healthy diet.
It also needs a metaphorical plastic bag put over its head from time to time.
Whatever we call that part of ourselves, it needs to be treated with understanding and respect. Love, not louche. Enjoy the sun, guys.
Yeah, amen. Loads of resounding hits there. Beautiful, yeah. I amygdala hijack is what it is. You're right. See, the lower can hijack the complete brain completely and drive it. That's why hence, you know, why breed when you've already got an inner child to feed. And the feeding, meaning, you know, tuning in every way.
Just bringing up, raising up the inner child. So, it has to be parented, and that brings into being the frontal cortex. Just the attempt to do that is exercising that frontal cortex.
So, that's this is the the parenting that that has to be done because we're already in. It wouldn't have to be if our parents didn't bring us, but once we're here in body, then there is parenting to be done. And you can't rely on the external parents. We've said it, you know, to do a good job because they're also off You know, this has been this pass the parcel.
It's It's like a dissonant passing of the parcel. That's what's going on here.
The parent is not stilled. It's dissonance and reach peace, and then it's produced.
The parents produced another in the same condition. You see, the little child doesn't know what's happening here. Needs orientation.
Parenting is really orientation. Imagine an astronaut coming in to a new, you know, planet with a completely different atmosphere.
So, the those those astronauts would have to adjust. They'd have to be an orientation period before they know what's happening on the ground, you know, what's really going on.
So, this is what's required. Everyone needs to go through this process, and it's very difficult, as the commenter said, to, you know, to align everything. So, this is this all it's all there when you look at all the science. You know, I said in in in Judaistic in in Jewish culture, religious culture, they refer to the two inclinations, yetzer hara and yetzer hatov.
The evil inclination and the divine inclination, respectively. So, it's everybody's aware of this. It's they've all been aware. Everyone all the ancients have been aware that we're dealing with frequencies here, as I always mention. It's all about resonance.
Tesla and Albert Einstein confirmed that. You see, now if you want to understand life and everything, it's all about frequency and resonance.
So, then our lives must be all about harmony.
So, if you look at it musically, we use the graphic equalizer analogy to drive the point home.
That tuning's required.
You see? Also, music is powerful. It's powerful as a tuner. Music itself is a primal kind of a art form.
Maybe the most primal because it's resonance-based. The same. If you look at cymatics, look into cymatics, very beautiful art form. And it's not even an art form. It's just a harnessing or exposing, revealing of the patterns that are there.
In the atmosphere. You see the beautiful patterns.
Just sand on a disc and then the harmony of frequencies played, a tone, and you have a beautiful like you know, mandala produced from the resonance of that tone.
So, yeah, confirming I think, tangibly confirming that it's all about frequency and resonance. So, health and sanity are frequencies. Love is a frequency. Truth, frequency. These are the primal tones I believe myself. True tone, I call it.
That is the ultimate. That's like the middle C on the piano.
The one by which all others are measured and standardized.
And tuned.
So, once you get that, once you live, you see, you try to like surfing. You hit that truth and you just try to cruise along on the crest of that wave of truth. That's what we're trying That's how I see life. It's like surfing energy.
And you can feel when you're off. You see, that's the way to raise the inner child. Just by feeling. Just flying together, you and your little child.
See? And the child by osmosis is picking up the See? The skill of flying.
That's all from his parent. That's how we should parent ourselves. It's beautiful relationship once you tune in.
See? Not go out to play, little child.
Go in to play.
As I said before, the Buddhists go in to play. They take the children to the monastery very young. To tune them.
See? To peace.
That's why the hymns.
See? And the the listen to Tibetan chanting. See? Frequency.
Listen to Gregorian chanting. Also beautiful. Every culture has had it.
It's all comes back to music. African drumming. Heartbeat in the womb.
An externalized version just to bring you back home again. Bring you to peace.
So, it's in every culture. That's the most primitive.
So called, but it's the most sophisticated because it's simple. The African drumming.
It mimics the heartbeat that the little fetus felt growing in the womb.
See? They kept the rhythm of the whole thing. So, it keeps it peace. Lullabies, you see, for children.
It's there. Everything. Hymns. Humpty Dumpty.
It's a song. See? It's a little lullaby.
And it's got a signature, I think, time. So, that it kind of comforts the child when you're singing to it.
See?
It's all to do with resonance. If we think of that wave of resonance when we live, then you'll see it in this way.
It's just music. And you're the composer.
So, once you're mature, then you can make a wonderful symphony out of your life. You see? And you can you know, you can stop dissonance.
You know how to do it. You can see You can see it as music. So, you know what to do to calm the dissonance when it arises. So, this is a master of life.
Magister Ludi, The Glass Bead Game, Hermann Hesse comes to mind.
See? The same again. Music.
Whoever's read this beautiful book.
See? And and those who've read it will will resonate with this. See? He was told by his master the Magister Ludi, the games master the protagonist of the story was told, you see, to meditate.
See? To calm the mind. That's the graphic equalizer thing. To tune the mind.
And that was a music teacher. The one he respected most was a music professor.
See? In Castalia, the uh university or the learning establishment in the book.
In the fiction there. It's a beautiful story. I recommend it highly.
