[00:00:00]We are coming up to National Volunteering Week when across the country people will be taking note of the countless numbers of people who give of themselves in all sorts of places and institutions to make life better for those around them.

[00:00:18]Here at York Minster we rely on several hundred volunteers in so many different areas of our life.

[00:00:27]As some of you may know, I trained as a guide and try and take the odd turn being with people on the floor showing them the wonders of this building. And as I went through that training process I realized all the more fully just what extent of commitment we ask of people in all these different areas of our life on which we depend. So I want to say a very big thank you to all those who volunteer in whatever capacity it might be here at the Minster. We could not do what we do without you and we are extremely grateful for your ministry and your work here. Thank you.
