Chilling 911 Call From Butler Shooter’s Father

[00:00:00]Why is it Judicial Watch getting this basic information about one of the biggest news stories in our lifetimes 2 years later?

[00:00:13]Speaking of anger directed at Trump, he course, you know, it's not political, it's deadly.

[00:00:22]He was nearly killed in Butler in 2024 and we still don't have the full information about the shooting led to the death of Mr. Comparetto.

[00:00:39]We're starting to get uh piecemeal records from the FBI after 2 years.

[00:00:45]And all the information that we got previous about what happened up in Butler came from local law enforcement who actually took more seriously the public's right to know.

[00:00:56]And accordingly, we had a uh piece of litigation up in Pennsylvania.

[00:01:02]So, what happened is that Ken Silva of Headline USA, a reporter who was investigating this issue on his own because the big media wasn't really interested, it looks like.

[00:01:13]He filed a Pennsylvania right-to-know request on information about the Butler shooting seeking access to the recording and related records. The Bethel Police Department, Bethel Park Police Department denied the request.

[00:01:28]On appeal, the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records affirmed the denial asserting the audio cuz they knew there was this what is uh what turned out to be a 911 audio recording of the shooter's father calling in the night of the shooting after it happened.

[00:01:48]They said it was exempt from disclosure a citing its alleged connection to an active criminal investigation by the FBI and Pennsylvania State Police.

[00:02:01]So, we had to go through uh we got a lawyer in Pennsylvania we're working with.

[00:02:07]We filed a petition with the court for review.

[00:02:13]And then we asked the court to look at the material in camera, which means privately, you know, not publicly.

[00:02:19]And the court granted the request, reviewed the material privately, and ultimately ordered the release to CNN and Judicial Watch.

[00:02:30]And the audio is not pleasant to listen to knowing what went on. So, this is uh the father of of uh Thomas Crooks who um called 911 around 11:00 the night of the shooting. Let's listen to the audio.

[00:03:03]Um I was calling uh in regards to my son, Thomas.

[00:03:07]Uh He He belongs to the Clairton Sportsmen's Club in uh Clairton. Okay.

[00:03:14]>> And I don't have the number for Jefferson Police on hand. Uh the reason I'm calling is he left the house here at about a quarter to 2:00 this afternoon.

[00:03:23]And we've gotten no contact from him. No text messages. Nothing's been returned.

[00:03:29]And he's not home yet. Uh that's totally not like him. So, we're kind of worried.

[00:03:35]Not really sure what we should do.

[00:03:37]Okay. And you're at Yes.

[00:03:43]All right. Okay. Hold on 1 second. Let me look at the phone number for you.

[00:03:55]He's 20 years old.

[00:04:01]And you said it was about uh quarter to 2:00 today?

[00:04:05]Yeah, about quarter to 2:00 this afternoon. Like I said, he belongs to the Clariton Sportsman Club or gun club.

[00:04:11]And uh he took uh a rifle of his out there and it's routine. He always does it, but he's usually back within 2 hours. Okay. And we've been texting him, leaving him messages on his phone. He's not been returning any of our texts or messages, which is totally not like him.

[00:04:28]And you know, we're we're going on 11:00 and he still hasn't come back or contacted us, so we're kind of worried.

[00:04:34]We don't know if he's been in an accident or something else happened to him. Okay, I was going to say just um keep your your phone handy and I'll get somebody to come and help you, okay?

[00:04:49]So, another piece of the puzzle, right?

[00:04:51]And uh it's raises some questions about uh what was going on at the home.

[00:05:02]Uh why they were concerned he didn't show up, you know, another sorts of questions that I'm sure were pursued. I would hope were pursued by law enforcement.

[00:05:10]You know, and it's and it's not to accuse anyone of crimes beyond what we already know about. But this is the shooting, near killing of the president of the former president of the United States at the time, candidate for president.

[00:05:24]Killing of another innocent American, traumatizing of the country.

[00:05:31]Part of a spate of left-wing political violence that continues almost to this moment.

[00:05:38]We don't have the details. And the only reason we've get the details we are been getting, we have been getting, is because of Judicial Watch. So, in addition to this audio we received uh from Bethel Park the police department there, we forced out the release of this information.

[00:05:55]Uh we received basic photos of the shooter at the uh just before he was involved in the shooting. And here, this is the photo that Judicial Watch obtained through a right to know request, a FOIA request up in Pennsylvania.

[00:06:09]People say, "Well, that video that photo came out." It came out because of Judicial Watch.

[00:06:16]I mean, you may see you may recognize the video. You can see they were close enough to read his phone, whoever took the picture of him from law enforcement.

[00:06:25]And then we received new FBI records recently that showed that uh he was causing a commotion, the shooter, and saying anti-Trump things, and then went up on the roof and shot Trump.

[00:06:39]It's crazy. Further indictment of the lack of security there. This guy's causing a commotion with Trump supporters, fighting about Trump, and there's no police around.

[00:06:51]This is crazy.

[00:06:56]And here we have the father probably 10 hours after the shooting death cuz he was killed Crooks was killed. We have the video of of that of of his uh remains.

[00:07:18]Pretty bloody mess.

[00:07:21]And his body.

[00:07:23]And they did they still didn't put two and two together where his where he was residing. I'm I'm not quite sure how quickly they moved.

[00:07:30]So, all sorts of questions.

[00:07:33]And I you know, I don't know the answers to these questions. I'm just asking a few questions. I you know, could be just investigation took a while to get to his home.

[00:07:45]But why is it Judicial Watch getting this basic information about one of the biggest news stories in our lifetimes 2 years later?

[00:07:56]We're still not getting all the information from the Secret Service and the FBI. Inexcusable.

[00:08:02]And I've been talking about the security of the president and I don't think the president is secure enough.

[00:08:07]And the political class in this city don't give a rat's tail about the president's safety.

[00:08:14]They don't.

[00:08:15]And I and I mean Republicans and Democrats.

[00:08:22]Not all Democrats, not all Republicans.

[00:08:24]Too many Democrats, way too many Republicans.

[00:08:30]Inexcusable.
