Weather forecasting involves analyzing regional atmospheric patterns to predict precipitation and temperature trends. In this Cleveland forecast, meteorologist Jessica Van Meter explains that a blocking pattern will keep most of the area dry while rain remains focused to the south, with only a small chance of showers on Wednesday. The forecast demonstrates how weather systems can create regional variations, with areas near the lakeshore experiencing cooler temperatures (low 60s) compared to inland areas (mid-70s), and how forecasters communicate uncertainty by providing probabilities rather than guarantees.

Cleveland weather: Some clouds, but staying dry on Tuesday追加:
All right, meteorologist, Jessica Van Meter has been watching the weather and I I think it's safe to say Oh, look at that. You know that's our favorite picture. Is that live? Is that right now?
Who needs Florida when you have Northeast Ohio? What a Memorial Day out there. They cleared out way early.
There's a ton of folks that have been there all day enjoying that Marblehead Lighthouse and the lakeshore there. Even some people out fishing, it looks like.
So, very nice to our west. Fortunately, areas like downtown Cleveland, yeah, we were a little slower to clear out all that fog and get things looking a little nicer. Good news is we've really kind of worked on changing things here. We've had a lot of rain the last month or two at this point and that's going to change. We've got quiet, dry conditions that are really going to dominate as we go through the rest of this week, the weekend and even into much of next week.
Really, Wednesday is our only chance on that 10-day forecast to have any additional rain potential. All of the rain for the next several days is really going to be focused to the south.
They're going to get a lot of rain.
That's really going to help with some of the drought concerns that they have.
Could mean some flooding issues as well.
But notice we're really just on the edge of all of that. So, for us it's going to be a dry, very pleasant stretch. For the south, they've already got a lot of rain going for today and already some flooding issues as well from the Gulf up into eastern Tennessee. This is where all of the action is for today and for the next several days as well. We have been dry so far. We've been slow to clear the fog out, especially closer to the lakeshore, particularly areas like Cleveland and out through Mentor. But we're setting up for a really nice evening here. Also, a little cool for some of those areas that were slow to clear.
Downtown Cleveland, Mentor, just low 60s. They got a breeze coming in off of the water there. Elsewhere though, it's been very nice well into the 70s this afternoon. So, feeling almost like average for this time of year. We're going to see very pleasant through the evening hours.
Any outdoor plans you have should be go good to go. We stay dry tonight. Some clouds around, temperatures back into the mid-50s.
A chance to get a couple areas of patchy fog, especially closer to the lake shore, but nothing like what we had for this morning. Tomorrow, we will have some clouds around, but we do stay dry.
Temperatures will be warmer for most of us. We'll be well into the mid to upper 70s. Winds will be light. It will be a bit cooler closer to the lake shore for tomorrow. So, just keep that in mind through the day. We're going to start to watch for that chance for some rain as we get into Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Again, much of that action is staying off to our south for the next several days. So, Wednesday, we're going to watch and see how far north that northern edge can get. So, I'll walk through that National Design Mart hour-by-hour forecast. Uh further south you are on Wednesday, better chance that you get a couple of these showers into the picture. So, we'll keep that chance for some showers around on Wednesday. It's definitely not going to be a washout. Not everyone is going to get that chance for showers.
Temperatures still make it well into the 70s on Wednesday. And then from there, we really do set up a very nice stretch.
We are looking dry, cool, comfortable as we go through the rest of the week into the weekend, and even into the start of next week. We can kind of run the model out there, and things look a very nice.
It's going to be the nicest stretch that we've had in quite some time, especially considering how rainy we've been through April and May. We're running over an inch above average for May already. So, we're going to end on a drier note.
Union Home Mortgage forecast looking very nice. Again, Wednesday is our only chance to have some rain out there.
Temperatures, especially inland, will be well into the 70s the next couple of days. Closer to the lake shore, it will be a touch cooler. Then we've got mostly dry conditions, uh sunshine, temperatures low 60s, or excuse me, 60s low 70s. So, not exactly hot, but still feeling very nice and a nice stretch of dry weather which we've been missing the last couple months.
>> I just see sunshine.
>> Yes. After Thursday, nothing but sunshine. We will take it. Thank you, Jessica Van Meter.
