So, I thought they were doing something insane with these fireworks, but nope, it turns out it's these diffraction goggles. The lenses have microscopic patterns that diffracts lights, basically bending and spreading light waves as they pass through. And because different colors bend by different amounts, each bright spot of the fireworks spreads out into a tiny rainbow. But that still doesn't explain the heart shape. You see, when light spreads out, those waves can overlap. In some places they add together, but in others they cancel out, creating a very specific pattern like a heart shape. I've never been to a Coldplay concert, but apparently you either get handed the heart glasses or the sparkle glasses that no one wants.
