Are Your Firearms Registered?

[00:00:00]last couple of weeks there have been different events that have happened, shootings or whatever and news reports and I jotted down some lines I have heard somebody a couple weeks ago it might have been one of these crazy shoot I don't know but uh they uh they were found with an unregistered firearm quote unquote okay uh then of course the uh the DC shooter was charged with and this kept reporters and people kept saying it. It got corrected a little bit later, but transporting a firearm across state lines. She like he'll be charged with transporting a firearm across state lines. Okay. All that. Uh and then of course there's uh not long ago some some suspect was uh was found arrested. I don't know what they were guilty of, but they had 16 firearms, something like that. and 1,600 rounds of ammo. You know, they always drag all that out. And the reason I bring that up is again, don't be misled by that. If you are new to shooting or you live in some bubble somewhere in this country where firearms ownership is not as common, you know, you you don't live in the real world, you know, uh uh for example my through my entire life and everybody I know, however much they're into firearms, Anybody probably I've ever met almost who lives in other states or anywhere have uh have moved across state lines with their firearms.

[00:01:49]Their firearms are unregistered and they might have 16 or 116 firearms and maybe 1,600 rounds of ammo or 16,000 rounds of ammo. Okay? And it's not a problem. And I just like to point that out whenever I hear that. I've been saving those up. Uh because if you are I hate to use the old soccer mom cliche, I guess, but someone who's just not familiar at all with firearms. Well, that sounds Oh, yeah. an unregistered firearm. Oh gosh. Yeah. No wonder that guy is involved whatever he's involved in. He has no regard for the law. He even had unregistered firearms, you know, or he had 16 of them or he took them across state lines. Oh my gosh, what a crime, you know. Uh none of that stuff is a crime in most states in the free states of this country.

[00:02:44]That's it's not even an issue except under certain circumstances. Now, you can't go across state lines in order to commit a crime with a firearm. Well, then they throw that in there to add to it, right? uh uh numbers of firearms. I don't know.

[00:03:01]There's probably a state where you you can only have so many. I don't know. Uh and then the uh the one about the unregistered same deal. They're not supposed to be registered anywhere. There are some states, I think, that violate that the constitutional uh amendment, but but I don't have any registered firearms.

[00:03:23]Well, I do have one. I guess my select fire um AK you could say that's registered but I knew that going in. We got a bug on No, it's a reflection. Uh so you know I've never own other than that and the Uzi I used to own. I've never owned a registered registered firearm registered with whom? That's the whole deal. We're not supposed to have to register firearms with the government. You know what happens what that leads to? So anyway, but there are states that that one is violated. Yeah. Uh but it's it's not many. Very very few. I'm not even sure which ones it is. I don't want to I don't want to be there. Don't want to live there for sure. So anyway, in the real world, the free world in most states of this country, all that stuff is bunk. It's just bunk. It's meaningless, you know. Uh and and people sometimes peu uh sometimes the uh the law enforcement people or prosecutors or whatever where they're not even anti-gun and they don't really intend to throw out wrong information, but in their jurisdiction like maybe it's New York, you know, or DC or somewhere in California or something and their whole orientation is yeah, of course it's illegal to bring a firearm across the state line or something. You know, you're supposed to be able to buy one here in where I where I am. Yeah. I don't know. So, there are some strange places in the country, but not many where those those are issues. So, but again, the average person doesn't know about firearms. They just I that has come up with me. I have uh oh sold a gun or uh traded a gun or somewhere along the way uh on occasion two or three different times in my life and and someone has uh that didn't know as much about it is well is this one registered or we need to reg somebody I was trading guns with or sold or bought they thought that we needed to take that gun and go make sure it was registered properly you know before he sold it or I bought it or something like that you No, no, sorry. Where are you from, buddy? Massachusetts or something. But anyway, uh that's that's just a it's one of those deals and it comes from people living, you know, in in in those kinds of environments. And then plus people living in in their own silos, you know, and they don't really have exposure to firearms owners or people who live differently or think differently and that kind of thing very much. It's just the way they've grown up and and and and largely they just don't even know.

[00:06:02]They're just kind of ignorant about firearms and firearms laws because it doesn't really pertain to them. But, uh, that's where a lot of the the just wrong impressions, you know, can can come
