This video presents multiple cases demonstrating how retail employees who attempt to exploit point-of-sale systems through fraudulent transactions, such as suspending purchases or manipulating refund processes, are ultimately caught through video evidence and face serious legal consequences including felony charges, probation, and restitution, illustrating that technological systems and law enforcement can effectively detect and prosecute employee theft regardless of the employees' attempts to conceal their actions.

When Dumbest Employees Think The Boss Is Clueless... Then Get Humbled By The Truth.Added:
And I pay your money back, please. I can't go to jail off my gr every can't go to jail.
>> You got $3,100.
>> I can play paying.
>> There's nothing worse than a thief who smiles in your face while draining your pockets.
>> I want to get in trouble. I don't I don't like getting in trouble. I don't like that.
>> You have the right to remain silent.
Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before he ask you any questions and have him with you during questions.
>> So, she did that for 2 weeks and total was $1,900. Seriously, I don't have any money.
>> So, but we we have you on video putting money in a paper bag and putting a bag in your pocket.
>> Today, we're watching the exact moment these ungrateful employees learned that Karma is a boss they can't outsmart.
On August 1st, 2023 at Burlington Coat Factory, police closed in on a young female cashier. She had turned her register, her livelihood, into a tool for manipulation, skimming from the system for three consecutive weeks. And this is the moment her sophisticated fraud was finally exposed.
Oh yeah, >> she was always the cashier. Like she was always giving them the stuff for free.
You know, the other associates I haven't found anywhere there. She's just she's at the cashier. So she's really committed to like $3,000, which is about what I came up with. Um so minimum of $3,000. she allowed to leave the store by not properly ringing it. Um, but I I put it on here like I kind of put this is her so she's responsible for I should say three grand. The other one from what I can see on the transactions 16 of that is what this associate walked out with. And this one here is like a farmer associate she recently quit.
>> That's just their names. I just had all the other names.
But that person you hear in prison here today, she was involved in all the transactions.
>> She was involved in all. She was the cashier.
>> She was the cash. So she was like letting the employee let leave with all those.
>> She would bring some of the stuff up.
You know, it looks so it looks if anybody's looking it looks like everything's getting ranged, but then she's instead of cashing it out, it would hit suspend. So it just suspends the transaction. But she still gave them the stuff and they walked out. They never paid for it.
>> But on this this here, that's every one of these are items taken or >> none of that was paid for.
>> Okay, that's why I just want to make sure it's rule 3100.
>> This is her generic statement.
>> Yeah, but it's not sworn to us.
>> No, no, I know. I didn't know if you need >> Give me one second. Right.
>> Criminals always delude themselves into thinking they are smarter than the system, forgetting that technology will gladly bear witness against them when greed outruns reason. By the time the officers approached, her belated regret was useless. He's here to talk to you.
>> All right. Deputy Frankie at the sheriff's office.
>> Well, you unfortunately there's no choice. You're going today.
>> Can I pay the money back, please? I can't go to jail off my gr everything. I can't go to jail.
>> You got $3,100.
>> I can play payments. I can do something.
>> That's That's not on my hands. That's on them. But they want everything right now. They're prosecuting.
I can't go to jail. I can't I >> know that's awful. I mean, I can't, you know, like I said, I go with the corporate I can't I can't go to jail. I really can't go to jail.
>> I'm a single mom. I can't I can make payments. I can do a payment plan.
Pause. No, >> I can't go to jail.
>> Right. And I and I did just I know >> I will I will I will call him but just talk to this guy.
>> Well, first we're going to talk and then we'll go from there >> first and just um but I I will go step out and call I did tell them all that ahead of time, you know. Um >> I can make payment based on >> I can do anything. Just tell him please don't take >> I was wrong. Please don't take me to jail.
>> Okay.
>> Please. We'll talk to this guy. All right.
>> All right. Do you What's your name, ma'am?
>> Yes.
>> All right. So, I'm going to read your Miranda because we are going to talk.
So, just make sure you acknowledge everything that I say. All right. You have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. Do you know what's going on or >> Hello?
>> I'm sorry.
>> Okay. Well, I mean, I know I know you you've spontaneously uttered that a few times. What I'm getting at is >> Okay, so we have all these transactions that were not rung on. Okay, you with me so far?
>> And some of these were for employees that work here, correct?
Okay. So, do you want to explain like like we have one that's on layway like what happened? What what happened here?
They've got you. They say about 31 almost $3,100 in items so far.
>> But like I I don't even know half of them people. I told it might was a mistake for some of them. But they saying that the the receipt came out after they put their card there. And the receipt came out. I didn't know if I suspend it or not. I just explained that to him. Some of them people I don't even know.
>> Oh, you explain. I don't understand what you mean by suspend. That's what I don't understand. What does that mean?
>> So like this one here has your name, right? Yes.
>> So, this was a transaction for 13 items on the 28th, right? So, and it says status suspended. What does that mean?
>> The the the transaction was suspended.
>> Okay. Was that a decline card or >> No, it just was I just cancelled the whole transaction.
>> All right. So you can't you suspended that transaction, right? So your your end of the day count is not looking for that money cuz that transaction was suspended. Correct.
>> So we have a total of uh like >> a single mother's tears can move people.
But under the lens of the law that remorse is instantly twisted. She began speaking in circles, hiding behind technical jargon to deflect blame and evade responsibility. No, >> it's Well, this is where >> she used one person used the card. She put her card in, but the receipt still came out. He said, "I put suspended."
So, the receipt still came out. So, he's saying I suspended it and the items did leave the store.
>> Okay. So, the the the transaction was suspended. You knew it was suspended and >> not this one. It's another one that I knew was suspended.
>> Okay. So, regardless, how does it go and suspended? Is it because a payment wasn't accepted or there was no payment or is it something you have to do?
>> You can press F2F.
>> You can press your number on there and there suspend it.
>> Okay. But it does it always have suspended? I mean, every one of these receipts has suspended on them.
>> That's what the system said.
>> Okay. And I also have one here. I'm looking for it. That was a layaway that they came back in the next day. That layaway was then cancelled.
And then the product still left the store.
>> Yes.
>> So I guess where I'm getting at here is um I mean you know allowing the stuff to leave the store. Correct.
>> I told I was a person.
>> Are you getting any kickback for that?
Are you I mean are they giving you anything for this product or >> how long you work for Burlington?
>> I started in March.
>> In March? Yeah. All right. Cuz they also got video which they're going to provide us for all these transactions.
So I guess another question is how do you pick and choose who you're allowing to leave without paying for product? Because some of these are some of the things are associates that work here.
>> Two of them are >> two of them were definitely associates that we know of. Um is this something they do that they told you about?
Cuz I mean they coming up to you asking I mean do you know them from like the neighbor? I mean how do you know them?
Are they didn't work?
>> Two of them work two one of them I know >> that works here.
>> Do you know him prior to working here?
The cleverness of a liar isn't in inventing a story, but in weaving technical truths to hide dark intentions. But all that cunning calculation fell apart the moment the officer laid his final card on the table.
>> But as of right now, if this goes away, it is it's it's a felony. You will have to take you if they do decide to prosecute. It's up to them. They can turn around and be like, "We'll work something out with you." I have no control over that. If they do, the only thing I would definitely be cognizant of is that this is a felony. So, they have a certain amount of time that they can report this without any repercussions.
So, if they decide to work out a payment plan, which I have no control over at all, and you fail on that payment plan, they can call us right back. And there's without everything I have here and after speaking with you, there's there's without a doubt probable cause for a felony theft.
of three grand.
>> When words could no longer manipulate, she chose silence and avoided eye contact. A final defense mechanism to protect a fracturing ego facing a felony charge.
>> Something that they allow to happen.
Again, I have no control.
That is something that you need to uh stay stay with because there's enough here. I mean, you there's a $1,000. You could almost be charged with >> um a scheme to defraud >> if you're working with other people to defraud Burlington. That's another charge on top of it's not just a theft of three grand cuz you didn't keep the product. You don't have it. You allow it to walk out. So there's a charge on the books is called scheme to defraud, which is you're facilitating it and other people are benefiting from it because you're not benefiting. You didn't get any other product. It's not like it's sitting in the car waiting for you to get out. Unless you all are taking it and reselling it on the outside key.
>> I I get it. Listen, times are tough, right? I I I get it. Trust me. I I I understand that. But you also have to understand, too, that I am going to be cordial and I'm going to respect you.
We're going to get everything we need from him. We're going to walk you out like a like normal. Do you give us any indication that you're not going to cooperate? You're going in cuffs. You're going to go in cuffs at one point, but instead of what they call per walking you to the store and embarrassing you in front of all these people, we can do it cordally and then go outside cuz this isn't going to be you get released here.
You you have to go you're going to go to county.
>> So you you're going to buy that? I mean, if it was under if it was a misdemeanor, I could release you on scene. I can't.
This is $3,000. I can't do that. So you have to >> um you're going to have to see a judge.
All right. She's going to take a couple items that she needs and the rest of the show us where your car is. One of us will take that out there and drop it off. Once you go to Marta, we have to go in cuffs and then we'll give you a double them up and we'll transport you to our district. We're actually here for this one.
Ultimately, she was taken to jail to face charges of grand theft and organized scheme to defraud. The court handed her 9 months of probation, but during that time, she offended again with petty theft. So, tell me, was she ever truly remorseful?
Crying over $3,000 is nothing. The next one stole $100,000 just to buy a gold chain.
On May 5th, 2023, at a Sam's Club in Florida, an inside theft of over $100,000 was exposed, shocking everyone, the suspect was a dedicated cashier of 3 years who had been quietly running a sophisticated fraud network for the past 6 months. What kind of end awaits this bottomless greed?
>> No, you're good. What's going on, man?
John.
>> So, I've got the associate upstairs with my market asset protection manager and one other manager. Um, >> how long was this theft over?
>> Uh, like 6 months probably.
>> So, it's 200,000.
>> 100,000.
>> It's 100,000.
>> Yeah. That we know of.
>> Okay. Um, >> we got video and everything >> of every incident or No.
>> Uh, yeah, pretty. Well, not pretty much.
Yeah.
>> What? May I ask what he was stealing?
>> So, there it's actually faulty refunds.
So they were doing uh refunds at uh the register and overriding. So she had another supervisor's codes.
>> Okay.
>> And would do overrides and >> for friends or >> uh no hers herself she would load it on a card right there. You watch the video.
>> Yeah.
>> She does uh the transaction does it for $3,000.
>> So it's a h 100,000.
>> Yeah.
>> But she's cooperative with you guys.
>> Yeah. I don't think she realizes the seriousness of it quite yet. How? I don't know. But I I've been in this club since uh January and I was trying to figure out why I was missing so much stuff, man. Finally start digging into it, digging into it, digging into it.
And then that's when I >> So it it looks like uh returns, right?
Like a return of $3,000, >> price override it, but no merchandise actually gets exchanged and then she just loaded on different credit cards and debit cards. There's nobody else there in the video on some of those >> on her own personal debit card.
>> I don't know whose debit card it is. I don't think so cuz there's different numbers every time.
>> So >> every time it's different numbers.
>> Well, there's various numbers when we say that.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> What's the membership cost nowadays?
>> Uh 50 bucks for regular membership, 110 for a plus.
>> You get cash rewards for like you shop with us or not enough pay for it. That's why I'm >> having successfully pulled off 36 felony transactions, the suspect's brain completely shut out any signal of fear.
She crowned herself a genius director, exploiting system loopholes, viewing it as a well-deserved reward. All the while, she put on a fake show of cooperation, confident that no evidence could touch her.
>> Where you from?
>> Indian town.
>> Indian town. That's where you currently live?
>> No, I stay 4 years.
>> Okay. How long you work here?
This show might be yours.
>> Okay, that's not bad.
I'm John, by the way, or Laviano, whichever you prefer.
>> Do you know why we're here?
>> Yes.
>> You think? Okay, I'm not going to ask you any questions or anything like that.
Um, I'm going to wait and see what we what we got and everything else and then we can kind of go from there. Name is Kandra.
>> Kandra. K.
>> D R A.
>> D R A.
>> D. Okay. middle name and then last name is >> Breland.
>> Do you have anything on you that you shouldn't?
>> Okay, I know it sounds silly. Could you No, no scissors or anything like that.
>> No.
>> Okay. Could you stand up for me, please?
>> You're good. I'll get that. These are my >> Can you Can you remove your vest for me?
Uh without exposing yourself, obviously.
Um can you can take it off?
>> Take it off.
>> Yep.
>> Um don't expose yourself. I'm sorry. I I wanted to be clear. Without exposing yourself, pull up your chins so I can just make sure there's nothing. Very good. And then turn around for me. Okay.
I'm going to um ask you to take the um right pocket there. Take whatever is out of the right pocket and your cell phone, please.
And then if you could, without overly exposing yourself, just lift up the back of your shirt for me. Thank you. Spin.
Spin. Spin. Spin. Thank you. Thank you.
Keep spinning.
>> Oh, okay. Thank you. And then what I want you to do is place your hands behind your back like you're praying, so sort of to speak backwards.
Okay, you're good.
>> You're good. I'm not trying to get your hair all all gross. You know what I mean?
>> All right. You're under arrest. Okay. Um >> so I'm going to bring you back to the station and talk to you there and then we'll go from there. I'll probably be with you the majority of the day.
>> Okay. So, you're going to have to deal with me.
>> All right. So, we'll be good. If you need need anything, just let somebody know, too. Go to the bathroom. Not not necessarily know, but >> like I said, no one's going to trick you bad or anything like that. All right.
>> Not only did she steal a massive fortune, she had the audacity to wear the stolen evidence right around her neck at work. Her silence now isn't remorse. It's pure shock as she realizes her comfort zone has vanished into thin air.
>> I just read that to you.
>> Yes.
>> Okay. You want to have a discussion with us?
Got to verbalize.
>> I don't really understand what cuz I've never been in trouble slot.
>> Okay. Well, what I'm asking you is you want to talk about why you're here today.
>> And and the manager and >> yeah, they he was already up there.
>> Got you in and said we got a problem.
>> Mhm.
>> Right. What problem did he tell you that? Yeah.
>> About me refunding.
why not so long um to help family out. Um even though I never benefited from it.
Um >> so I don't know the whole specifics of this whole thing to be honest with you.
I was at breakfast so they called me up and asked me to come in and speak to you and detect Valentine. So you were refundously taking the product or were you just getting the SKUs and writing the SKUs?
>> Running the skus and where did you do this in the store? I don't really know how the story is made up.
>> Membership desk.
>> Oh, okay. So, you'd be at the membership desk. You get the SKUs. You'd ring it up and do it as a return. And now to do that, what would you have to do? Because I just know that when I return stuff, you have to call a manager over to to do something. How How does that work?
>> Yeah.
>> Or did you have the ability to go in and do it on your own?
>> Yeah.
>> You could or you have to call man?
>> No. Um the supervisors um uh it requires a override.
>> Is that like a number?
>> And is that number assigned to each supervisor?
>> The number that's assigned to >> And how did you get that number?
>> Um just by them overriding and I you know >> watching them. When her ego couldn't handle the image of a sneaky pin thief, she elevated her actions into an act of chivalry. This facade of having a big heart was a desperate attempt to cover up her greed and escape a naked truth.
That money was already spent to the very last dime.
>> Any of this just you? Okay. So, um, you said TVs.
I I saw a list. There's a a bunch of different How long has this been going on?
Not not long, like two months.
>> Two months. And when you would do the returns uh of the money, where where did the money go?
>> Being stupid.
>> Well, yeah, but don't you have to, and I'm just speaking from my experience in doing these kind of things. Don't you have to like give them a card or something like that to put the money on?
Where where was Whose card were you putting your money on? On >> debit card. on your debit card?
>> No. No. I wasn't getting from it. No.
>> Whose debit cards are you putting on?
>> Not from my relatives.
>> What's that?
>> Relatives.
>> So they would give you a debit card and you would put money on it for them?
>> So there's a different debit card for every transaction?
>> Not not many.
>> Okay. Were they aware of what you were doing?
>> Not. They just >> Well, they kind of had to be aware, right? Because they were getting money on their account, right?
So they would kind of have to know unless you were explaining something to them. Did you tell them what was going on?
>> No, they just knew I was just helping them. They was in need and I've always been genuine and had a big heart. So >> well, I get it. Family first, right?
Um, do you have an approximate idea how much money that you did this or how many items to a total?
Does over $100,000 seem about right?
Cuz those those are the transactions that they're supposedly have pulled out.
Did they tell you that?
>> No, I didn't.
>> Realizing the seasoned detective was peeling back every single layer of her lies, panic finally set in. She understood that if she kept talking, she would either have to burn her accompllices or trap herself with those illegal bank accounts.
>> The job or did did anybody else teach you this?
>> When you're you're being truthful to us, if there's other people that are doing it, they're going to find out. We don't know what that other person's going to say when we find them. So, the last thing you want is them to try to >> sit there and say Yeah. sit there and say, you know, she's the one that told me how to do this and you know.
>> Mhm.
So I just looking at you, I can tell there's other people that are doing this that you know. Who are those people?
Just my years of doing this, I can see you're you're you do have a big heart. I can see you're struggling right now.
There clearly is more than one person that's doing this. And that's what we're trying to say to you is you don't want to get yourself jammed up for stuff or transactions that you didn't do. If somebody else is doing those transactions, those are the ones that need they need to be held accountable for their actions. Right. Right.
>> And so that's why we're asking you this question because as they go through and they pull this data, >> they're just going to attach it to the person that it belongs to.
>> Well, I'm only responsible for my actions.
>> This is about making sure that you're only liable for what you did, right?
So clearly it's somebody who works at the store. Was it a supervisor?
Just another cashier.
Well, it have to be a cashier, right?
Cuz they would the only ones that had access to it, >> right?
That's fine. Not a problem.
>> Sorry.
So, um, I'm just going to tell you what they're going to be charging you with, just so that you're aware of it. They're going to be charging you with the grand theft, and since you've never been in trouble before, so grant theft is theft, I think, $750 more, but because they're showing a loss of $135,000, I think it is, you're going to be charged with that. So, that's first degree felony.
And then you're going to get charged with seeming fraud >> and that's over $100,000 too. So that's another firstderee felony and then um theft of personal identification and that's that's a third degree >> with the total fraud reaching $135,000.
She was ultimately arrested. She now faces charges of firstdegree grand theft, organized scheme to defraud, and criminal use of personal identification information. If convicted, she faces up to 30 years in prison and full restitution to the store.
Blew a h 100red grand on gold, but the ending at the bottom of a Florida canal is what truly leaves you empty-handed.
On June 23rd, 2025 in Cape Coral, Florida, patrol officers cornered the woman they'd been looking for. She was a heavily wanted suspect in connection with two brazen thefts at Walmart and Target. And this is how it actually went down.
How's it going?
>> Hey, how's it going?
>> All right. What's up? You tell us.
>> Hey.
>> Yeah. Can you go talk to this officer?
>> Talk to me over here on the side.
>> Where you guys coming from?
>> I'm just giving her a ride.
>> Okay. Okay. What's your name, sir?
>> Chris.
>> Chris.
>> All right. So, I'm going to read you something and we're going to talk.
>> I already talked to them. I wasn't trying to steal anything. I was trying to grab my car. I'm going to read you something and we'll if you want to talk to me to explain your side of things.
>> I I'll be >> But I'm under arrest now. No, >> you're detained right now.
>> You're detained.
>> You're not free to leave.
>> But I I talked to the girl. I I didn't I wasn't stealing anything.
>> Okay.
>> So, I'm going to read it to you. If you want to tell me your side of the story, I would be glad to hear it. So, just give me a second.
>> Okay.
>> You have the right to remain silent.
Anything you say can't be used against you in court. Is this What happened on that day?
>> What? I >> I don't I don't know. I don't know. I I don't even know.
>> That's correct.
>> I mean, yeah, it looks like it, but I don't know what happened on that day.
>> I You're saying that it's me, but I don't even know if that is >> clearly you.
>> I mean, it's that kind of looks like a gorilla. I mean, it's kind of >> You might have had a rough day, but it's you.
>> Oh, it's kind of blurry.
But I did have one incident at Walmart where they were trying to help me check out, but it my phone said that I paid. I paid.
>> She lies just to soothe the panic tightening in her chest. The moment the officer reads her the Miranda writes, the absolute sign that she's run out of options, she tries to spin a fantasy about the matter being settled civily, hoping to talk them into letting her go.
>> You have a you have a reason for or or an explanation for what happened today.
were asking what happened that day cuz you're on video passing all points of sale.
>> Passing all points of sale. I don't even know. I don't even know what that >> here's the thing. You I showed you the picture. You said, "Yes, that's me. It looks like me." Then you you just >> 10 seconds 10 seconds later, you just said, "No, no, no. I don't have that shirt."
>> But I don't I don't have that shirt. But it does look like me because of my shorts and everything. I always wear those cut off shorts. But I don't go past points of I don't make it a habit to go past points of sale. I don't make it a habit to just be stealing uh food and and stuff at Target. Like I don't want I don't want to get in trouble.
Like I don't I don't like getting in trouble. I don't like that.
>> Supposed to be said I'm going to make phone call.
>> You having a child with your life show different?
>> No. Different.
Like the the girl didn't say I was in any kind of trouble, but I told her I wasn't trying to steal anything.
And she said that I was trespassed.
The officer left the woman by herself to momentarily talk to the other officer.
>> But when he went back, taking advantage of the second the officer turns to speak with his partner, she bolts. She tears through the streets like a mad woman, then dives straight into an alligatorinfested canal, desperate for a slim chance of escape.
Yo, where'd she go, man? She just dipped.
Come over here. Hey, she's on the south side of the canal. South side of the canal.
We got two stuff charges on it.
>> Which way? Which way?
>> Just knock them out. So, she just went in the backyard right there.
>> Yep. I got Where? Where's she at?
>> I got one. I'm going to go put mine in the residence.
>> Come on, with your hands up. Where's she at?
>> Hey, there's a gator coming up.
>> Yeah, she's in the water. She's in the water.
>> Where is she?
>> She's in the water.
>> She's right here. Oh, dude. That's a big gator coming up. Holy [ __ ] >> You?
>> Yeah, she's here. She's in the water.
Yep.
Banging on my door.
>> Female's back in the water.
>> Did you see her?
>> Get the over here.
>> It was not a mistake. Come out. Come out. You're going to get eaten by gators.
>> Hey, I'm already dead.
>> Yeah. We're about You're about to get you. We're about to jump in.
The Marine units are going to grab their boat.
>> My falls are falling the middle.
>> A twisted survival instinct had her believing those dangerous waters were safer than a jail cell.
That was not the way to get her.
>> Oh, he didn't want to get her.
>> Yeah, he did.
>> I hope he didn't grab all his [ __ ] and >> What's wrong with her?
>> She uh she ran from her stop. She was peeling.
>> Bring her. And you going to the other side? I'm going to the other side.
>> Hey, bring her right here. Right here.
It's shallow.
>> Bring her here.
>> Hey, he's shallow over here. Bring her over here.
>> Bring her here.
>> They're swimming across the canal. We're going to use officers over there to defend.
>> I'm not Oh my god. I'm right here. Let's go. Come on. My legs are >> Let's go. Get the up. Let's go.
>> MY LEGS ARE NOT WORKING. I can't.
>> We'll have EMS check you out. Come on.
>> I I literally can't can't move.
>> You're going to hurt me right now.
>> Pulled from the water, she immediately collapses onto the ground, groaning.
With her pride shattered, all that's left is a pathetic crying tantrum, trying to drag everyone else down into her own failure.
>> I can crawl up. Let me have my arm back.
>> Can I have my arm back?
>> No.
>> I can crawl up. Please >> use your feet.
>> No, I can't. I can't feel my legs.
>> Use your feet.
>> I cannot. You understand? That's why I'm swimming with my arms. I can't feel my legs.
Come on.
>> One, two, three.
>> He said he was going to kill me anyways.
>> Your side.
>> On your side, >> please. Ow.
>> Can you pull the other shorts out of my ass, please?
>> No.
>> Please. No.
>> Ow. Just pull him out of my ass. Please >> don't tense up.
>> Please. Ow. You're hurting me.
>> Give us your >> You're hurting me. I can't. You're hurting me.
You're hurting. I can't move. You're hurting me. I don't know.
>> Give me.
>> Why are you guys doing this to me right now? Why are you doing anything?
>> Please hold my arms. I don't care. You don't have to put me in the door like this. You don't have to push me in the dirt like this. I didn't do anything.
You didn't have to jump in a canal either, but you didn't.
>> No, I didn't want to. You said you was going to kill me.
>> What do you need?
>> Did you say 1 to 12?
>> 412. 1 to 10.
>> Hold on. I can pick my foot up. Hold on.
Hold on. Hold on.
>> Hold on. Hold on. I can't Hold on. My legs I can't >> I can't walk too.
>> Oh my god.
>> Hey, I have the dog. So you try again.
>> Can you show me on the previous >> It's not me.
>> All right. Three.
>> All right. I can't even put my feet up enough.
Ultimately, she was carded off to jail to face charges of resisting an officer without violence and two counts of petty theft with bond set at $1,500. She also violated her probation regarding drug paraphernalia, landing herself a one-year sentence in the county jail.
Ending up in a canal is embarrassing enough, but it's nothing compared to the genius who decided to steal from a children's charity.
On July 31st, 2024 at a 7-Eleven, a serious inside theft was exposed. The suspect, a 21-year-old cashier and mother of three young children, had spent two weeks scamming the system to steal $1,900. And this is exactly how it went down when the police arrived on the scene.
>> So the children's network, she was there and then doing a refund and pocketing the money.
>> So she did that for 2 weeks in total was $1,900.
She's on the register right now. I've got another manager in there who's supposed to pull her into the office so she doesn't get spooked and try to vul.
Um, but she's in there right now. Stole $1,900 in total.
>> So, do you have the >> We've got the CCTV footage. We've got receipts that she's rung up. She did it on another associates's numbers, but you can match it to the cameras and see that it's her.
>> She did it on another associates's >> numbers. Yeah. Sign it. So, it's under somebody else's name, but you match the timestamps with the camera on the camera. It's It's her. You can see it just >> put in her pocket and stuff.
>> Okay.
Hey, just turn around and put your hands behind directly.
>> So, you're being placed under arrest right now for fraud.
>> I know you got a lot of questions.
Everything's going to be explained to you. Okay.
>> Okay.
Put your arms together >> like you're praying.
>> There you go.
Do >> you have anything illegal on your person?
>> No.
>> Knives? Anything sharp that's going to poke, cut, or anything like that?
>> Okay.
>> Where would your belongings be? Over here. Where >> is there a purse or something?
>> Over there. Okay.
>> Just let me know which ones are yours.
This.
>> Mhm. Okay.
Just leave those here.
>> And my purse is right there. Okay.
>> Those >> My purse is right there.
>> This purse?
>> Yeah. Do you have anything else?
>> No. Okay. Wait. Oh, not that one.
>> Oh, I'm sorry.
>> Another one.
>> This one?
>> This one?
>> Yes.
>> Going from a store clerk to a criminal suspect, she adapted fast. This quiet demeanor shows she was mentally prepared for this moment, putting on a cooperative act just to fly under the radar before being taken in for questioning.
>> How you working at 7-Eleven?
>> Um, I want to say almost a month. A month and Yeah, about a month.
>> You said about a month.
>> Or a little over. Yes.
>> Okay.
Where' you where you work before this?
>> Um McDonald's. Well, actually I was a I wasn't at McDonald's for long. I was only there for like a few days. Um but I was at I was a CNA and all that stuff.
>> Okay. Okay.
>> I'll read you this real quick just kind of get it out the way and then we can talk further. Okay.
>> So, you have the right to remain silent.
Anything you say you can and will be used in the court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have a present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish.
You can't decide any time to ask these rights and not ask any questions or make any statements. You >> understand your rights?
>> Mhm.
>> Yeah. I just need you to say yes.
>> Yes.
>> Thank you. Am I currently? No.
>> All right.
>> I just have three babies.
>> You got three kids. Okay.
All right. Um, so you said the fraud case you previously had, you said it was a few months ago. Yes, but we're it hasn't been like finished. I'm going through it.
>> Are you still kind of going through it?
Okay. So, the reason why you're here today, um obviously there there's been some concern uh in reference to charity donations at work. You you know what I'm talking about. All right. Can you tell me what's going on with that?
>> I haven't did anything wrong um by me starting being new. Um, I work up under somebody else's numbers. Um, they gave me numbers for my own register, >> but they wasn't working. There's more than one I tried to put them in.
>> Um, >> from my understanding, I mean, I was still in the system for everything. So, I don't really know too much about that.
>> Um, the moment she spotted a loophole in the system, she clung to it as her alibi to explain away the dirty money. Hiding behind the title of a single mother of three, this manipulator tried to twist her crime into a mere flaw in management.
>> Whole people's number should work under or is it >> just hers?
>> This one specifically?
>> Yes. Whoever like is over that shift when I get there.
>> Like whatever manager or something like that.
>> Yes.
>> Okay.
>> Well, she's not a manager, but she's I guess a lead.
>> Okay. Like a like a team lead. Okay.
>> All right. So, the first thing you said is like I mean you didn't do anything wrong. Yeah. And what made you say that?
>> Because I haven't I mean, they wouldn't really tell me anything >> when I was up there, but I I haven't did anything. I'm going through too much to be >> Yeah. You scanning the barcodes um and then essentially later pocketing the cash.
>> Pocketing >> the cash out of the register.
>> When did I pocket?
>> I'm sorry.
>> When did I p >> uh there's apparently there were several incidents. Um, so that's that's what they brought up to us, to our attention.
This is why we're here right now. If you're going through hard times, cuz I get it. I mean, we all go through difficult challenges and stuff like that, especially financial issues. I know, >> uh, you know, being a parent, you know, money can, it's tough, especially, you know, for you and you have other responsibilities and people to take care of.
>> And if if that's the case, this that's something that that led you to this, like, I understand. I mean, but it's it's I'm talking to because I want you to be straight with me because if you're being dishonest, then that says something totally different and now we have videos showing otherwise.
I mean, it's I rather you just be straight with me. Say, "Hey, look, I messed up. I'm not perfect." And I get that cuz no one's perfect. That shows a different character. And I don't looking at you, I don't think you're like that.
I mean, I don't think you're that type of person. I mean, you're young. you, you know, you're still trying to make plans and grow, you know, I mean, raise your family and I get that. I mean, it's, if you made a mistake, I mean, this is, this is me talking to you. I want you to just be honest so that way we can figure out what's going on and if there's some assistance or anything like that that you know, programs that can be offered, like, let's let's figure out what's out there that we can go with. Now her tone gets frantic, throwing the store's management structure into the mix to muddy the investigation. With no real evidence to back her up, this mother's last weapon was using her three children as a moral shield.
>> Cuz they got you on video taking cash out of the register.
>> So it doesn't show me it being on me. It just shows it me coming cuz I have >> regardless we have to drop money.
>> Mhm.
>> Regardless. So I have to take cash out of there anyways every time we get big bills over big bills and we have to insert it and we have to do all the computer stuff anyways.
>> Okay.
>> So that's >> it's what I'm saying is they have video of you taking cash out of register and then later put in your pocket. So there and then there's been multiple scans of cash donation under your name and other employees names. Uh but it's it's only you doing it on video and then later the cash is removed. Your pocket is pocketed and then the drawers are short that amount of money.
>> So that's what I'm saying. I use those and I do have like stuff that I done wrote on that I don't put in my pocket and everything. But >> yeah, >> as far as like money, I don't have any money.
>> Okay.
All right. So, can you explain why your drawers are always short?
>> I pro probably the way I rank stuff. I mean, cuz like I say, I'm fairly new.
So, probably the way I run it in cuz now they got it where you have to have manager approval to do refunds and all that stuff. So, that's what I'm trying to understand.
This is why I'm here, too. So, I'm I'm trying to figure out what's going on.
>> Yeah.
>> So, this is a story I'm getting from manager, you know what I mean? And >> obviously, this video, >> so it's it's like that's showing one thing and then you're saying another thing. So, you see how it's like it's just not matching up.
>> Yeah.
>> So, that's that's the confusion and that's what we're trying to figure out.
>> Well, I know I don't have no money.
Choosing to blame it all on a technical glitch, she tried to play the clueless victim who didn't know how to use a register, all to wipe away her theft.
But the curtains closed on her little act with a final crushing blow. The officer coldly laid out every single move she made on crystalclear CCTV footage.
>> Seriously, I don't have any money.
>> So, but we we have you on video putting money in a paper bag and putting a bag in your pocket.
Like, I I literally just watched the video.
So, you're you're telling me something, but I I watch something entirely different.
>> And what day is this?
>> Um, off the top of my head, I don't know the date. Um, but again, I I literally just watched the video, >> sir. I don't have any money.
>> Okay.
I can't leave my kids.
I can't leave my kids.
>> Yes, ma'am. You want to ask me a question?
>> Um, yes. Do you do you know what is going to happen? Because I have a my son is at home and he has a secondderee burn and I was supposed to have an appointment.
>> Okay. Um, who's he at home with?
>> He's at home with my grandmother right now.
>> Okay. All right.
uh based off the evidence um shows that you stole money from the business. Okay. Uh so today you will be placed under arrest for organized fraud and grand theft. Um you're currently on bond.
>> Yes.
>> All right. There's again there's a good possibility that you're going to be no bonded.
Um it's and again I I try to speak to you.
you know, I mean, all like an opportunity to come forward. Um, but I'm just going to document, you know, our interview today. And again, all that information is going to be up to the judge uh during first appearance. You understand?
>> Okay.
>> Ultimately, she was arrested to face charges of organized scheme to defraud and grand theft. The court sentenced her to 6 months of house arrest with an ankle monitor, 24 months of probation, 300 hours of community service, and $897 in fines and court costs. She is also ordered to pay a mandatory restitution of at least $200 a month directly to the store until the $1,900 is fully paid back.
Stealing from children wasn't enough.
The next case upgrades to a combo of two employees embezzling together.
On May 29th, 2025, at a Nordstrom rack in Florida, police showed up to cut out an inside fraud tumor that had been eating away at the store for weeks. Two female cashiers, Tamaya Dixon and Tomia Brown, were at the very center of this massive loss investigation.
>> Waiting for the actual officers to come and take care.
>> Is Where's the individual?
>> She's getting fired by a man.
>> Fired.
>> Yeah. Where is she though?
>> Let her know the room's audio and video recorded. Okay.
>> So, come on over here. You can come over here. Put your bag down on the table or put your back here for me. She's got to check you real quick.
>> Um, do you have IV in your back?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Before you do that, you have anything that's on you going to stick me, poke me? No.
>> All right. Turn around. Okay.
>> And just letting you know my body cam is Okay.
>> Uh so they want the prosecute for uh this just to be the receipt for it and this is investigation with with all the notes.
Um if you want any of the videos.
>> Well, if you could bring up the video.
So I'm standing by the other officers who were taking this are on their way.
I'm just gathering up some information now to make it easier for them. So if you have the videos popped up, can we get that ready for them as soon as they come in?
do that interview and I'm going to bring her over here. She's being prosecuted as well. She's a misdemeanor. This one's a felony. This one's $870 something.
>> Yeah.
>> That one's two something, right?
>> 250.
>> Yeah. So, that one's a misdemeanor, but she's involved with her. They're passing off.
>> So, what is going on?
>> Two employees are chocolate together.
>> So, he has one in here already. He's going to go pull the other.
>> I got one. We just interviewed an employee for theft. Got her full admission. It's $876.
What she's doing is she's merchandise theft. She's doing fraudulent returns back to her own account with the merchandise not present. She's doing um she's taking merchandise right off the floor. Eat it, drink it, food, candy, whatever. She's walked out of here with bags of stuff.
>> Inside, thieves always mistake not getting caught yet for being smarter than the system. But when the curtains finally close, the only thing they're left looking at is the cold reality of tracked receipts.
>> Get her to admit to these things. It's going to take about 20 to 25 minutes.
They're all This one also did it on audio recording. So the whole thing is audio recorded, the interview and the admission, all that stuff. And now we just brought this one back here. She's agreed to pay it, you know, signing all the forms and everything we do. Now I'm going to go talk to the other one.
>> So we trespass and prosecute. Just a heads up cuz I know sometimes when we have shoplifting cases, you ask. So, we trespass and prosecute everybody.
>> Okay. You you you're talking about like she's agreed to paying back like >> Well, she Well, that she hasn't paid anything back right now. She's just signed all the forms that she agreed to do in all the losses.
>> How does that work when uh you guys >> It's civil demand. We're going agreeing to pay back on civil resitution.
>> There's something back there as well.
>> Okay. So, so she's we got her fraudulent returns merchandise. Now, >> there's another one at Five Below.
>> You want to take this?
>> They're pulling up videos or they have the video pulled up already.
This is >> I guess.
Okay.
>> They were pulling up something else, but then you guys were literally out there talking to them, but I just made sure they had the video popped up for you guys. Do you need anything from me? So, no like item. I just took transaction totals.
>> Yeah, that's what he handed me. But I He'll explain more.
>> Yeah, that's fine.
>> And I ran her. All good.
>> I'm going to read you your rights. Every time I read you one of your rights, I just need you to acknowledge me with a verbal yes or no. Okay. Um, you have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. Do you understand?
>> Yes.
>> With your rights in mind, do you want to talk to me today?
>> Sure.
>> Well, I mean, they said they have videos of you doing the stuff and doing the transactions. I don't know if there was some type of reason you for that, right?
Like I don't know if it was your own for real doing it. I don't know if somebody was threatening you here to do it. I don't know. You know, I just giving you the opportunity to kind of say your peace.
If you don't want to say nothing, you don't say nothing. You know, like that's your right, too. And I'm not trying to force you to, you know, >> you good. So, I mean, you So, you're good.
>> All right.
just sign right there. That's your uh they're trespassing you from the property. So, you can't come back for um 365 calendar days. Okay.
>> Um if you come back on the property before that time expires, you'll be arrested on site. Okay.
>> Behind that silence in the interrogation room isn't remorse. It's a brain overloading with panic. The suspect bitterly realizes that the price of a fraudulent signature is worth 10,000 times more than the dirty money in her account.
So, watch yourself. Let's take a seat in there.
You good?
Real quick.
Make sure he cranks up the AC.
You have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. Do you understand? With your rights involved, do you want to speak to me about what's going on today?
>> I just know what's going from here.
>> Oh, you just what?
>> I just know what's going on here.
>> Okay. So, you did um in no way were you um >> What's up?
>> I'm reading her Miranda now.
Okay. Bye.
Okay. So, um nobody forced you into doing this. Nobody like correspinged this. You weren't like threatened to doing this. Like there was no issues as far as that. You kind of just made a silly mistake. Okay. All right. Um, so since we're on camera now, you will be taken to county with your property on you. You do have money. I just want to count the money in front of you. Okay.
510 to $5 US bills. Okay. That'll be going with you and your property. Um, here. and I'm going to need you to please sign for me on the X.
So, you're being trespassed on the property as well. Okay. So, you cannot return to this store for 365 calendar days. Okay. Not the date. Not >> right. The X.
>> Yeah. Um meaning if you come back on the property and you're seen on the property, you'll be arrested on site.
Okay. Hold on. Do you understand that?
Yes.
>> Okay. Uh can you take your apron off for me?
You have a shirt underneath your jacket.
>> Yeah.
>> Can you unzip that just so I can see there's nothing? Give you a pat down with the back of my hands. Okay. Just to make sure you don't have any weapons on you.
Okay.
Okay.
All right. Cool. I'll do it for a turn.
Put your hands behind your back like if you're trying to pray.
Unlike Dixon, Brown admitted she knew under ringing items was wrong and had actively stopped doing it on May 18th.
She didn't choose violence, understanding that it would instantly turn a financial crime into an assault on a law enforcement officer.
>> All right. Appreciate it.
Oh. Uh, you give me the USB bag?
>> Yeah.
>> All right.
>> All right. Cool.
>> All right. Perfect.
>> It's just for show. My name is Officer Leon with the West Palm Beach Police Department. Uh, at this time I will be taking a statement in reference to agency case number 258412.
In front of me is >> Jordan Briggs.
>> Okay. What is your position here? asset protection agent.
>> Okay. Uh, can you please raise your right hand for me? Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
>> Yes.
>> Okay. Can you please describe to me the events that led to us coming over here and arresting two of your employees, please?
>> Okay. At 410 2025, we started investigating two employees.
>> One was doing return fraud, the other one was doing a pass off.
>> Okay.
>> Dixon, who has the highest amount of >> Can you say her full name, please?
Dixon. Okay. Tamaya Dixon.
>> Thank you.
>> She has an amount of 872 and return frauds and merchandise.
>> Okay.
>> And pass up.
>> Okay.
>> Surveillance them on CCTV which we have videos of and we seen Dixon hold her phone up and type in a UPC's.
>> But because Nordstrom has a paper trail, we looked it up with her Nordy Nordstrom account. It's a membership and it shows she was turning items but the items weren't in stock by RFID what we do on a daily.
>> The store representatives were determined to prosecute to the fullest extent even though the women agreed to pay the money back. For retail corporations cracking down on inside fraud isn't just about recovering assets. It's about sending an absolute message of deterrence to the entire staff.
All right, sit down.
Take your shoes off. You got socks on?
>> No.
>> No, cuz you can't wear them in the thing.
Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Let make sure there's no biohazard tab on it, but No, it's not. Okay.
understand.
Oh my gosh.
Ultimately, both of them were carded off to jail to face retail theft charges. Both were issued a one-year trespass warning from the property and ordered to pay full restitution for the stolen amount.
