The video masterfully disguises a juvenile joyride as a technical study, proving that even a Ford Focus can be elevated to a subject of high-brow sociological inquiry. It is the ultimate expression of over-analyzing mechanical excess to justify a simple adrenaline rush.

Driving a Focus RS on an AirportAdded:
Today's an interesting day because I get to be at an airport.
I get to drive a car on an airport with no speed limits and uh I have all this wide open space.
I get why Top Gear loves this so much.
Believe it this is the first time on Regular Car Reviews that I actually get to drive a car on an airport. Uh thank you so much to Tony Airlines, friend of the show, who set this up for me.
And we have the Focus RS, the giveaway car.
And I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't tell you that this is a giveaway car. Go to fanofdem.com/regularcars, buy some limited edition merch.
And there it is, up there.
Someone, some lucky person is going to win that. Don't worry, I'm not going to thrash the car. I'm not going to thrash your car on an airport. But uh I I I am going to get to put it into race mode.
See what it does.
I can't wait. This is going to be fun.
Bye.
You're clear right. You're clear left.
All right, let's go left all the way to the end of the taxiway.
That that was the rev limiter.
This is insane cuz the end of the runway is coming up pretty damn quick.
>> And stop.
Yeah. Brembo brakes. Brembo brakes.
>> Brembo brakes. Oh, yeah. Ready launch in 3 2 1.
And brakes. Brakes.
I wonder how fast I can come to a stop right in front of him.
Yes. Obviously, the Brembos are fantastic. And they did stop the car really quick. But you do smell them immediately. I mean, they're made for this.
Uh slotted and drilled rotors at the same time. That's definitely a 2000s, like 2010s uh era style. Nowadays, people don't do that. You know, we're we're fine enough with the the ventilated discs that are just plain.
You don't really need them. And now I all I want to do is take a turn at speed just to see what it does. But that would probably be a bad thing because someone's going to win this.
Can you do it without the >> It is not a power seat. Imagine that.
It is >> at that. Yeah. despite people selling these cars for like 50 grand back in 2016. Center line.
Center line.
>> There we go.
Perfect. It looks like they are done refueling, which means they're going to taxi out of here soon.
Holy Oh my god.
Oh, YOU'RE BACKING OFF.
>> I'M backing off. I'm backing off.
I That was only 80. It feels Now granted, Tony's used to driving hug-a-chug-a-mobiles >> Yeah. Yeah.
>> and your big ambulance and your Fiat Multipla diesel.
Yeah, the funny thing is the Multipla has the most power of every car I've owned.
That has the most torque with a 1.9 L.
God.
Brakes are good, huh? Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah.
That's like auto brakes four good. When you said auto brakes, I thought Oh, actually, let's go back down there.
Uh in the Boeing 767, we normally use auto brakes three. It's a nice firm braking, but if you're on a short runway, you're putting that on auto brakes four or even auto brakes max, which basically throws everyone in the front of their seats.
So, fun stuff.
>> Interesting. I thought most of the braking when an airliner lands is from reverse thrust.
Part of it. Yeah.
But still, it's all your disc brakes in the wheels, which I know from from you know, shorts and stuff that am I right to say that um the brakes on an airplane, it's not like a brakes on a car that has one brake disc. There are multiple brake discs per wheel.
>> Mm. Yes.
Yeah, there are. Or well, per set of wheels, I guess it is.
>> Right. Yeah. Cuz it's not >> per landing gear. You're not a you're not a DC-3. It just has one wheel Right. per strut. Yep. Yep. I'm going to back up. We're going to put it into race mode. And I'm also going to move my cam my microphone, which I can feel is pressing up against the seat belt. Then if you're comfortable, we'll go past that. I wonder if track mode will only activate if you're on a designated track.
It's not giving me track mode. Does it know So So I put it in track use only.
I'm not I'm not in gear.
I'm like, yeah, track please.
What the heck?
It knows something's up. I need to Google this. Yeah. I'm I'm used to high turbo stuff from like the '80s that was like raucous, like the A70 Supra and uh Like this is completely normal to be to be going that quick.
Also, it feels on an on even though yes, we're on taxiway.
We're not on the actual runway. It feels like you're going slower than you are because there's no like other traffic that you're just blowing past. And now for the disclaimer.
Please do not attempt what we just did, driving around at an airport. We were permitted to do this because Tony has a very good standing with the crew here and the owner.
We weren't doing drifts and we got nowhere near the flight line. The flight line is the never cross the yellow line from the taxiway, where vehicles can drive, to the runway, where vehicles can't. Also, this airport has no control tower. There's no one monitoring what's going on on the taxiway. This does not mean that you can just go to a local airport, drive through the gate, and end up where all the planes are. Do not do that. We were here with permission and on their very good graces. But it was a lovely way to do pull after pull and a full bore brake stop on the RS and it didn't disappoint. And I enjoyed this and you're going to enjoy it, too. So please, enter this giveaway. You're helping Regular Car Reviews continue to do fun stuff like this and travel and meet you guys out there. Click on the link in the description and go to fanofdem.com/regularcars.
