A Jones fracture, which occurs when the bone at the base of the fifth metatarsal pops out during landing and rolling movements, requires a minimum 11-week recovery period before a football player can return to full activity; this is because the affected bone area lacks blood supply and requires surgical stabilization with plates or screws to heal properly.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. - best handcuff?
Added:Hey guys, Dr. Morris, injury expert. So, Chris Rodriguez Jr., previously with the Washington Commanders, now finds himself with the Jacksonville Jaguars, basically trading places with Travis Etienne, who's now in New Orleans.
So, C-Rod, you know, he's never really been super fantasy relevant, but there's a couple injuries that need to be discussed and he may be potentially relevant this year, so that's why I'm I'm touching on him. So, he suffered a couple different injuries in the past year or so. He had a calf, he had a shoulder injury, both of those were mild and he was able to play through them. Then he missed a game with a groin and then he missed, I believe it was a Christmas game with an illness.
But, that wasn't overly concerning and again, he wasn't really super relevant.
JCM was there and there was other guys, so he wasn't he didn't have a whole lot of value, although he's actually a pretty good runner.
But, the Jags paid him pretty good money, 2 years, 10 mil. Now, I don't know the guarantees, but that's a fair amount of money for a running back in free agency, that's not a, you know, a top-of-the-line guy. So, for running backs, that's actually not a bad value.
So, that means they're they're willing to potentially invest in him. Now, Beathard should be the RB1 with much with really good hands and Lequinte Allen is obviously still there, but, you know, we won't have Travis Etienne, so I expect C-Rod to get some work.
We heard right after they signed him, maybe in April-ish or so, that he suffered some left foot injury, but we don't have any specifics. All we know is it was a left foot injury and he required surgery. Now, he missed all of OTAs and mini-camp and they said he should be good to go in July. So, it's late July right now, mid to late, and I expect him to be good within the next two to three weeks.
Now, realistically, what could this have been?
Now, the first thing that comes to mind is a Jones fracture.
This is traditionally where the Jones fracture would be. How does that happen?
You land, you roll, and that bone pops underneath, and there's a section of the bone if here's the end of the bone right here, it's about right here that actually doesn't have a blood supply.
So, you actually have to put either a plate and or screw into it in order to preserve it and to stabilize it. Now, this is what Derrick Henry had several years ago, and he's been fine ever since.
For the most part, most guys do fine with this. But, here's the important thing to understand. If this was a Jones fracture, he can't return before 11 weeks. That's what the data shows. So, the good news is that this was in the off season. So, if this was what it was, then he will be good to go really with no concerns come August. If this was a Liz Frank, which is a much harder to do, I guess, during an off-season warm-up or practice, but technically possible, that is a basically a fracture of this separation here between the second first and second bones, and it basically causes the midfoot to collapse.
And and that is what Travis Etienne actually had in his rookie year, and that's part of the reason why he missed the entire rookie season. Now, I'm assuming if he had a grade two, he wouldn't have had surgery cuz usually those aren't surgical. So, it would have had to been a grade three Liz Frank.
There's a couple other things it could have been, some weird one-off things, but a Jones makes the most sense here.
And overall, assuming this is a foot and not an ankle, I'm not overly worried, and he should be good to go.
This offense has lots of talent, loaded.
Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jacoby Myers, still have Travis Hunter who's looking jacked.
Apparently going to get some love on offense, but tons of love on defense.
Plus they have Breiden Strange. And they have as well as the other running backs. So there's a lot of mouths to feed on this offense, and I wouldn't be surprised if C. Rod ended up rumbling into the end zone if Bashaun Tuten struggles a little bit getting into the end zone. We'll see what Lequinte can do. But overall, I like him as a late late deep pick. One of the last guys on your bench type of thing. I'm not targeting Chris Rodriguez, but I have him in a league or two already, and I don't mind him because I think this offense is going to score points. And if Bashaun Tuten gets injured, he's likely the next man up.
