Kairuh's amazing FPV cockpit upgrades the CNHL Bison for epic FPV
Added:Hey there, thanks for tuning in to NavStar. [music] Today, we are reviewing the Kairos HQ FPV cockpit display set.
[music] This is a fully modular, standalone cockpit system made specifically for FPV.
Best part about it, >> [music] >> doesn't need a flight controller. Just plug it in and go.
Real-time telemetry, artificial horizon speed, all the good stuff.
So, I've tried a number of different providers for this type of equipment, and I got to tell you, this one is the best.
There's a lot of reasons for it. We'll get into some of them here. But, I will tell you this, I am just scratching the surface on what this can do.
I had it set up on my CNHL Bison, which is just screaming for something like this. And, ever since I got that plane in the air, I wanted to do more with FPV. You can check out our other video on that. But, with this enhancement, my gosh, what what an amazing experience.
So, the Kairos FPV kit supports up to four screens at once. You can run a main PFD, MFD, radar, whatever else you want.
It's highly customizable with some really cool, clean warnings, stall speed, altitude limits, and it's even got dedicated modes for ground vehicles if you want to put these in your car, like a crawler or something like that. It has a standalone power board, which sits right between the battery and the ESC.
That gives you regulated 5-V power, plus live voltage monitoring. Or, you can just wire this to your flight controller as well, and power it directly off that, and take the telemetry from it.
Uh so overall uh this thing turns regular FPV setup into something that actually feels like a cockpit. Um one of the things I like about it it's super clean. Uh the programming is second to none. Uh that was put in the background here on the firmware.
And it it's very very immersive and I also found that uh Kairos is extremely responsive and always seems to be developing. So that's that's who you want when you have a product like this they can get behind their product and support you.
A nice scale aircraft like the CNHL Bison really suits its suits itself well for this. As you can see there's a 3D printed cockpit and I did some little extra enhancements by 3D printing a radio set in the front. You can go all out with this if you like but uh you know I had a lot of fun with it.
Some minor trimming as you can see to the cockpit to get it to fit um but you know if you're handy with a 3D printer you can stretch and move these designs to uh to fit anywhere you want.
So it's a fully customizable HUD. Um it's got a low a low ray radar which I'm not that familiar with but it allows you to track other uh aircraft and you can configure it so it can have uh friendlies and hostiles and and uh even a simulated uh radar screen for you.
Uh so this has both air and ground modes um which is really kind of cool because this isn't just specialized for planes.
Uh you can use this for uh your ground vehicles as well.
And I really like the live battery telemetry and the fact that it can have uh uh, a temperature input from the motor mount and I had it on the ESC, which was kind of a cool readout there.
Now, with this setup, it allowed me to do 100% FPV landings, which is harder on some aircraft, but on the CNHL Bison, uh, with all that clear visibility coupled with these screens, it and the stall indications, it was just really, really easy to land on pure FPV.
So, really good product support. Uh, go to their website. I have a link below and you can dive right into the details.
Uh, if you already have a flight controller, you can get a setup for that. Or if you don't have a flight controller, that's one of the neat things about this, it's a standalone setup. He's got a variety of displays that you can use, uh, for whatever you whatever you wish from a ground vehicle to aircraft. He'll even, uh, print them out for you.
So, at the, uh, packaging side, took a great deal of care in packaging it. It arrived quickly, had, uh, good tracking on it. And, uh, I'd like to get more into the technical side of it as I dig more into this, but I'll tell you this, it was easy to get started without having all that technical knowledge.
Really just simple installation and the firmware update and the simplified approach to accessing the settings was really appreciated as it set up its own Wi-Fi network.
So, there you have it. Uh, what a great product. This is something that if you are into FPV and you have [music] a few scale aircraft sitting around that you'd like to upgrade the cockpit experience with, this is for you.
I am definitely going to be putting some [music] more of these on some of my other scale aircraft. Uh, I may be trying some different, uh, cameras so I can get a little [music] clearer view of my cockpit. The DJI is not the best for that, >> [music] >> but it certainly didn't hold me back from having a great day flying with these. So, check out Kyros, really cool [music] setup, really cool little company, and hope you guys have fun with it.
And like I always say, have a great day no matter what.
