When speakers use collective pronouns like 'we,' they often include both themselves and their audience in the shared experience, creating a sense of community and mutual connection. This linguistic choice transforms individual communication into a collaborative dialogue, where the speaker and listener become participants in a shared journey rather than separate entities.

Cauliflower Should Be illegal And "Who is we"?
Added:Question number one, who is we? Feels a little bit silly answering this question because it implies one of us is wrong.
Either I'm wrong for saying it that way or you're wrong for suggesting I'm wrong for saying it that way. And I'm not smart enough to know who is wrong. So, I'm just going to be vulnerable and tell you guys exactly what I mean when I'm saying who is we. We We should head down to the van next. We're going over there. We should jump across this mountain pass and find a place to camp. I often say we in my videos. And exactly who is we? Well, when I say it, I mean the audience and I.
We.
The audience and I. Am I right or wrong?
I don't know.
Either way, that's what I mean. Thank you guys. That was like a over a hundred people have asked me that question.
You're not the only one. if you have asked me that question. But I still don't know if I'm right or wrong. But when I say we, I mean the audience and I. The camera tripod, the camera, myself and the audience. The audience and I.
Who is we? Thank you all for being here today. Don't forget to hit the thumbs up. We got a whole list of questions that I'm going to be answering. This should be a fun one. My name is Eric and I live in this beautiful 1997 Dodge camper van. I have a small YouTube channel with just under 50,000 subscribers. And last week I put out this community post asking my subscribers and viewers for questions.
Ask me anything. Ask me anything. And they responded with so many questions.
Thank you all for all the responses.
Let's get right into number two. What's your favorite quote and why?
That's a great question. Thank you so much for asking it and I put some thought into it. And I think leaders eat last is my favorite quote. The quote is leaders eat last. And Simon Sek, I know him as an author. I don't know what else he does, but he wrote a couple of books um called Start with Why and Leaders Eat Last. And that just resonated with me and it has stuck with me throughout my whole life. You know, other than you know, Jesus Christ talking about a lifestyle of humility. Um, there aren't very many people on earth talking about putting others first and putting themselves behind. So, I like to quote leaders eat last. And so, when I look around and think about people that I would want to emulate or follow, definitely I want them to have a quality of humility and I want them to be somebody that puts others first. I don't want a selfish person to follow. So, leaders eat last. My favorite quote.
That's why humility is important. Next question. What is my favorite book?
Another great question and I did some quick thinking about it and I couldn't even narrow it down to one so I got three. You may be a little surprised or you may not. But number one is the Bill Clinton biography book. What I liked about it was again the humility of Bill.
Uh the story as he tells it was a page turner even better than the Forest Gump movie. And he was so humble that he couldn't believe how he had become president. He just was in the right place at the right time. Was in the right place at the right time. Was in the right place at the right time. Just always kind of smiled his way through the day and he said one day he woke up, next thing he knew he was president of the United States, man. And it was a really fantastic read. The book was huge. It was like 1,200 pages or something, but it was a it was a page turner and I remember I couldn't I probably read it 15 20 years ago now, but I remember I couldn't put it down.
Um, Seab Biscuit about a horse. Very cool story. If you don't know, it's a easy read, a rather small book. You could pick it up and probably read in a weekend. Check out Seab Biscuit. And the third book is Purpose Driven Life. I thought that was an awesome book and I still think about it often and use a lot of those principles that I learned in that book in my lifestyle today. So Clinton biography, Sea Biscuit, and Purpose Driven Life are some of the books that I like. Oh, and I've probably read about over a thousand books in my life. I probably read over a thousand books. So there's three that really made an impact, but of course there's so many more. Another great question. This one's a good one. Hi. Do you like carrots? Not only do I like carrots, but I love carrots. They're one of my favorite vegetables. I like them raw and cooked and with butter. I love carrots. Thanks for your question. Is there a place I haven't traveled to that I still want to go? That's another great question. And I think um Maine is my answer. Here in the United States, it's a silly answer.
They're known for lobster and I haven't ever eaten a Maine lobster. They got Baxter State Park. They got this thing called a 100mile wilderness. And they got Mount Katad. And there's all kinds of outdoor recreation to be done in Maine. And it's a state that I've never visited. So yeah, we're going to say Maine. I'd like to travel to Maine someday. I have zero plans to go there.
Zero.
But if you asked if there's a place that I'd like to go that I haven't. Yeah.
Maine. Great question. Broccoli or cauliflower?
That's another great question. And I think it's broccoli, of course, right?
We're all on that. In fact, I would support legislation today. Banning cauliflower pizza crust. What are we even talking about? Broccoli for press.
Next question. It's a biggie. Are you happy? It's like a philosophical question. What do we even mean by happy when we say it? I think my answer is yes. And what I mean by that is that I don't have a life of want. My my needs are met. You know, I don't I don't go through life with longing.
You know, I'm very happy. I'm content with my life from day to day. Um I'm living I have the privilege of living relatively healthy. you know, sunshine, fresh air reasonably, access to fruits and vegetables from all over the world.
And, you know, I'm a man of faith, so I spend time with the creator and God and prayer and worship and stuff. And, you know, I've never been more happy, in fact. And, um, I feel honored to have this freedom. And I try to observe what other people do when they get freedom. And you can get um freedom a lot of different ways, but most people eventually chain attain some sort of freedom through having a substantial amount of money um rather than having the freedom that comes from faith. But even the people that have the money when I look out and I say, you know, are they happy? And it seems like seems like they just suffer from whatever that is that humanity has, it's like a long it's a constant longing.
Something needs to change, you know?
Why would somebody change the color of their living room after five years from white to eggshell beige or something?
You know, like some small little tweak, spend $5,000 doing that other than like people are just naturally geared towards unhappy. And I don't I'm very contented and happy. Yeah. Are you happy? Thanks for asking. That's a great question. I'm super happy and I hope that sharing how I why I'm happy and how it becomes happy and what happiness means.
You know what I'm not longing. That's happy, right? I'm contented. I didn't wake up today and think, "Oh, I wish I was in some different place doing something else around different pe you know." It's like, "Oh, thank God I got to wake up again here." You know, every day is like that. Yeah. Very happy. I hope happiness on all my subscribers and viewers as well. We got another great question from another amazing viewer.
What hobbies do I have besides watching poker and where did I get my multi-tool?
My multi-tool is a Gerber multi-tool and I got it at the Home Depot in Anchorage, Alaska. I love it and I use it regularly. Highly recommend the Gerber multi-tool. And a hobby that I have besides watching poker is walking.
Low-key, I don't think I've ever shared that with my community, but I'm a walker. I can walk in the morning and I can walk in the evening. I love walking.
I probably walked over a million miles in my life, and I don't do it really for exercise. It's more for meditative purposes. I think that uh my big hobby that nobody knows about is walking.
Great question. Here's another great question. Have you ever thought about getting an animal? If so, what would you get? Absolutely. I've definitely thought about it. I would get a dog for sure and specifically a terrier. I would like to adopt a rescue pit. I think that would be really cool. Um I grew up in a se semi- urban suburban environment. Lots of people had pit bulls and they were always super friendly dogs, well trained and behaved. And yeah, they're short hair, very obedient. They're not super large, not super small. I think a rescue pit would be in my future, but I believe that's for a different season of my life. Right now, I need to take care of myself in the van, but definitely in the future, I would like to get a dog. That would be so amazing. And I've never owned a dog or had a pet, so I'm really looking forward to that experience with man's best friend. Definitely a dog in my future. What kind of music do I listen to? Oh my goodness. I'm afraid to answer this question. And this is going to really reveal a lot about me. First off, I don't have a strong opinion. I can listen to any music. I would say that the type of music broadly that I listen to would be called considered like American pop. Anything you would hear on a radio, I don't know like underground musicians or small musicians or anything like that. I'm not hip to it. And um anyway, the way oh and another my relationship with music, another weird thing about it is when I drive even long distances, I rarely rarely listen to music. I'm more of a keep it quiet and like meditative uh contemplative thought while I'm driving or something, you know? I'm not jamming out to the latest and greatest or anything. Anyway, so here we go. I'm going to reveal Pandora. I just at some point in my life Pandora was a thing and I literally downloaded the app and I clicked on it and there's a search thing and I think I I searched for Red Hot Chili Peppers. But then when you search for that it'll just give it'll like curate a playlist for you. And so I wrote down a couple of the songs that I've been that come up on the playlist on my Pandora so that we can all laugh at what I listen to. Let me see where's it at.
It's not Oh, here we go.
Oh, Narles Barkley. Crazy. Chris Stapleton. You should probably leave.
Uh, Awall Nation, Sale, Nirvana, The Track is Plateau, uh, artist Sublime, Track Badfish, artist Johnny Cash, uh, God's Going to Cut You Down, Metallica One, uh, Teddy Swims, and Stick Figure.
So, there's a couple of the different things that come up, but I always just listen to music on Pandora. I'm old.
That's embarrassing. I don't even know what Spotify is or what else y'all are listening to music on these days, but this old man is going to listen to Pandora for the rest of my life. Next question. Another good one. Where am I going for the 4th of July?
I hope I'm going fishing.
It's what I'm going to do with my next month's paycheck. I get paid here in a few days. And I'm hoping that I'm going to buy a fishing license, a rod, a reel, the line, the hooks, the bait, a little tackle, and I hopefully I'm going to spend some time learning how to fish and doing some fishing here. Uh the weather is perfect and there's great fishing in this state. So, for Fourth of July, I hope I'm going to be fishing somewhere, man. How what is the date today? Like June?
Oh, we still got a couple weeks in June yet. I think it's only like the 17th or 18th or something in June. Maybe not even that far, but whatever. July 4th.
Yeah. So, we're going to try and do some catch and cooks. I hope you guys like that kind of content. If not, whatever.
That's what I'm going to be doing anyway. Out there trying to teach myself how to fish. It's going to be another embarrassing endeavor for me because I've got little experience. I've only fished one time and that was a disaster.
I did catch a fish on my finger. like I tied the string around my finger, but that's not how you're supposed to do it.
Anyway, Fourth of July, we're going to be fishing. Thank you for the great question. Are you coming back to Alaska?
That's another great question. Thank you so much for asking it. And in short, it's yes. Yeah, I'd love to come back to Alaska. I've got a lot of unfinished business there. I was invited salmon fishing when I was in Alaska and didn't have the opportunity to do that. And I was also invited to an old Alaskan trapper shack way out in the wilderness.
And I didn't have an opportunity to take up that offer either. So I definitely have unfinished business in Alaska. But it won't be happening tomorrow. And this van makes it challenging to get there. I probably could never afford to drive this thing to Alaska. I think I get like 11 miles a gallon or something like that. Um, so it'd have to be a ferry and that's not cheap. But yeah, I would definitely love to come back to Alaska, but not tomorrow. Thank you so much.
Another great question. Thank you so much for your generous $45 donation.
Merry Grace Donahghue, and happy belated birthday to you, Jason. I hope you had a fantastic day. Happy birthday, bro. And finally, the last question for the video is from a hurt viewer, and I'm sorry.
And the question is, yo man, I sent you a PayPal and a little message and you didn't even have the decency to say thank you to me and why not? And uh I'm sorry. I'm sorry for that. You aren't the only person that I was unable to personally say thank you for the donation to. And uh yeah, that's it, man. I'm sorry for that. I should definitely say thank you. And really quickly, an update on the maintenance and health on my van for all the people that have been following along and care about that sort of thing. The tire wobble problem has been mostly resolved.
I took it to a mechanic and he said it wasn't the hub and bearing. So, I took it to a different place and I had it the tires rotated and rebalanced and that helped tremendously. So, that problem is resolved. And then my check engine light also came on and it is not come off yet.
I haven't been able to get it to go off, but the problem is not major and it's not hindering the way my vehicle drives.
It's probably like a a sensor or a cloggy air filter possibly. I thought maybe the gas cap, but the roads around here are really dirty and dusty, so I haven't been able to get my check engine light turned off yet, but it's not affecting the performance of the vehicle at this time. And this is going to be me filming an outro. Thank you all for submitting your questions. I know that I didn't get to every single one. Maybe I will do this at another time. Thank you to everybody who likes, comments, subscribes, sends PayPal's, Venmo, super thanks. Thank you for all the channel support. Until my next video, smile your way through the day.
