The WONDERfools | Ju-ran Character Explanation - Will She Be The Next Villian? | NetflixAdded:
Juran was one of the three people who followed and assisted [music] Hawando.
She was born hearing impaired and thanks to Hawando, she was finally able to hear the sounds of the world. However, unlike Horan, she was far from simple-minded.
Let's take a closer look at her powers and personality. [music] Due to the mutations [music] caused by the experiments, Juran gained the ability to control other people's minds and force them to obey her [music] commands. Not only could she manipulate a single person, but she was also capable of controlling hundreds of people at once. She even managed to influence Un-jung's powers by manipulating [music] him directly.
In the finale, she controls an entire town to attack [music] the four main characters in order to continue carrying out Hawando's plan.
Juran used her abilities countless times to help [music] Hawando, yet he never truly trusted her and was always wary of her powers. Because of her curious nature [music] and desire to uncover the truth, she once attempted to manipulate Wando in order to learn his real plan involving Chae-ni.
However, her powers had no effect on him. Later, [music] Palho reveals that both Wando and the others were special devices designed to block her mind control. Learning this painful truth leaves Juran devastated, realizing that she had never truly been trusted all this time.
In the final scenes, Juran wants to spread the chemicals across the entire city so everyone can experience the same suffering she endured. Driven by resentment and bitterness over never being able to live like a normal [music] person, she manipulates the townspeople into attacking the four protagonists.
The saddest part [music] is that she unknowingly causes Horan's death by controlling a pastor to attack Horan while she was disguised [music] as Chae Ni.
By the time Jiron realizes what happened, it is already too [music] late.
As for her fate, [music] after the plan fails and fireworks light up the sky to celebrate the year 2000, Jiron collapses from overuse of powers, [music] her hair having completely turned white. However, the series never clearly reveals whether she simply fainted [music] or something worse happened to her.
This may also be a hint toward a second season.
Overall, Jiron is a tragic [music] character. Because she could never live like a normal person, she became consumed by insecurity and resentment, eventually [music] turning into a true antagonist.
Could she become the main villain of season 2? What do you think about Jiron?
