Successful van living requires balancing budget constraints with practical needs, including choosing affordable vehicles, strategic grocery shopping at discount stores, utilizing energy-efficient appliances like rice cookers and evaporative coolers, and maintaining flexibility by frequently changing locations to avoid police attention while living on the road.

Lindy's Live 5/12/26 Let's talk about itAdded:
Oh, how are you guys? Pamela, Cass, Pamela. Oh, okay. It was Pamela, welcome.
So, guys, how was your Mother's Day?
That's the first thing I'm going to ask you. It was kind of a weird video I did, wasn't it? Um, I was just in the mood.
You know, when we [clears throat] have all these holidays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, excuse me, Christmas, Thanksgiving, many people have just had a loss or their first Christmas or their first Mother's Day without someone they loved.
And sometimes it's not a happy time.
And yesterday, no it wasn't yesterday, it was Sunday.
Sunday, um I was feeling the loss of the three mothers that I have had that tried to be mothers to me and they're all gone, you know. And that's the way I was feeling yesterday. And uh I hoped I made someone else feel better. I wasn't trying to make anybody feel bad. I was trying to make someone feel better that even at the loss, you really haven't, in my mind, I really haven't lost them.
They're with me always. So, um, and three people had just notified me they had just well, one her mother had died that Friday. So, um, and the other ones, this was their first year without their their mother.
So, at least it it it helped somebody.
Hi, Jack. Let's see. Hi Tamara, how are you?
So anyway, that was kind of the reason behind my um video yesterday.
It was I'm starting because I was talking to a friend today and I said I I really don't miss the big channel.
I never set out to be famous or to be big or to be anything. Still looking for a vehicle to move into, you know. Um, yeah, trying to choose vehicles and all these people give us advice. Tamara, hi retired. How are you? Um, Yavon, hello Hernandez. Let's just slow this down.
Um, I just saw a video today on the top five vehicles.
Every one of them were extreme. Now, he's talking used, but one was um the Sultist.
Even used, it's like $60,000.
Uh, you know, I mean, and and the Sprinter. He was talking Sprinter. These are all expensive things.
If someone if someone is being forced into living in a vehicle, that means they don't have the money for these things.
And he was talking about, you know, what kind of vehicle the cops aren't going to aren't going to bother on the street.
I you know, now one of his things was don't have solar on your solar on your roof. Before I put this solar on the roof, nobody had knew I had solar on the roof because I taped it there with black tape and my roof is black. You couldn't see it. Now you can see it. So, it's a little bit different. I I have a basket on the back with my wheelchair, walker, generator, all that. Of course, it's all covered up except for the walker cuz I use that all the time.
As long as you don't stay in the same spot all the time, I This is my opinion. I I don't think they're going to bother you. The reason they bother you when if you're on the same spot for a week or two weeks or 3 weeks, they think you're broken down, which means now you're a problem if you're broke. But if you move every day, I think once every three weeks I'm in the same spot. I have like almost 27 spots now. And every night I go to a different one. And during the day, I don't have so many because I want to run my generator.
I want to stay cool and I want to be under trees. So far, there's only one. I mean, it was 85 today. Marley and I are staying comfortable, but I'm dreading I'm dreading and and I I do have the air conditioner. That means I have to run the generator to run the air conditioner. I'm only going to get three, four hours out of the solar.
You know, you're always faced with something. But let me get back to the subject. These expensive vehicles are not the things that those of us who need help can afford. And Tam, and this started with Tamara. camera.
Remember your budget. Don't just go overboard on your budget of the vehicle that you want. And don't worry about stealth camping until you start doing it. Um, my vehicle is registered as a cargo. So, it's a little when they run it, they're going to see cargo van, but it's it's a whole different ball game.
Hi, Katherine. How are you?
Clover Lee. Hi. First time here.
Everybody's talking to everybody. K for hi Yukon in the house. All right.
Alaska. I have a friend from Alaska.
Mary. Mary might be here later. I am great. Thank I'm doing good. I'm doing good. The bargaining crafter. Hi.
I know. I was talking. Valerie, hi. How are you? Catherine, famous, fabulous 60s. Yeah. Uh, but I think I was starting to talk about my big channel. I always felt pressure never good enough as big as the channel was. Um, and when it got lost, it just physically and emotionally just really was not good. It just wasn't good.
I feel better with a smaller channel.
Uh, I'm trying to because I did lose income.
I don't think I should be relying on YouTube or any place like that for income anymore cuz they can just take it away from you. It's gone. Um, so if I have a smaller channel and I get monetized and I make a few bucks, but I have fixed things so that my debt is down, I'm doing certain things that I don't have to have the money. I can live very well within my means, very well for me. May not be for other people.
I don't have really high expectations for life or living. I'm living in a van.
Okay. 5 years. Okay. So, we we get that.
So, um I'm a little bit different.
Everybody else has their own standard, their own expectations, and how they can live. If you have the money and you want to sold to I mean it they're really nice but I no I'm not going to invest that kind of money. That's like a house to me. I mean my first house was $9,000.
Okay with an acre of land. No I'm not you 120. No I I can't I mentally can't adjust to that. I mentally can't. So it's going to be a mess.
You guys are all saying hi. Yeah. Crazy prices. We're We've hit six night $6.
Was it 55? $655 I paid for gas.
Whoopdedoo.
Um yeah, the prices are I I've been doing a lot of shopping at Grocery Outlet because I got that uh 2 lbs of celery for 90 99 was it 90 98 cents. I picked those things up and I forced myself to use them for every meal till they're gone. Today I picked up some cherries. I picked up those strawberries. And uh now I have Jason gave me the ice co to use. It's a freezer. Oh, this ice. I just couldn't afford to buy ice co. This ice co is amazing. It just sips solar. Just sips it versus the other one I have. However, I have a set power. I first refrigerator I had, I bought a set power because I could afford it. I still have a set power. And um I'm not dissatisfied with them. They they are a good product for the money you pay to start out. I cannot afford an ice coat. Jason gave me the small one. I've made it a freezer. I haven't bought ice bought ice for 3 days. It just it's so much cheaper. And it in 24 hours it has sipped 15% uh 15 200 300 watts out of my 2,000 watt solar. Uh yeah, it it's a really good product. Really good product, but it's expensive for a little one. 559. Come on. I you know there was no way I'd ever buy one. Thank goodness they sent me one when I was bigger. That was the one thing about the bigger channel is I got all this uh stuff for free. And of course you guys know I gave a lot of it away. I'm watching from Delaware. I know. I'm trying to remember if Jason comes on. Hi Brenda. How are you? Um I want to say Milford. Milford, Delaware.
I worked for um IG Burton. IG Burton had uh I think seven dealerships, five or seven dealerships. So, uh auto industry. I wonder how they're doing now. I don't think cars are selling that much. They're talking about 40 and $50,000 for a car, guys. That's crazy.
Hi, Yvon. I've been looking at tiny homes and those Yeah, tiny homes all of a sudden just went nuts. And the other thing is the infrastructure you have to put in concrete. I'm watching people who have bought land in the desert which I, you know, I'm always tempted to do. The problem is infrastructure, water, you electricity, sewage, you have to have a pad pad.
[clears throat] Now, maybe they can get away with it because they're in a a county, but it's not the same.
It's rough and ready. It's rough and ready just like the pioneers. Uh uh I watch a lot of um homesteaders because they have such good ideas about food and stuff, you know. I want to learn all that stuff. Um so, I watch a lot of homesteaders who are off actually off the grid. Are we really off the grid?
Because you have to have Wi-Fi to to get anywhere, you know, call or do this or do that. I did complain to Blue Eddie, you know, Jason bought me a Blue Eddie and it needed an app and it had a flaw in it, so it burned up some wiring. I returned it. They were excellent about the return. They were excellent about customer service was excellent, honestly. And I told them, my hair is blowing because we have some wind. I told them, "This is supposed to be off-rid. Why would you make it to update it and start it with an app, a dedicated app, no less? If I'm off- grid, I don't have a dedicated app. I'll be lucky to have Wi-Fi."
And yeah, I did complain. They offered me $25 back, which Jason will see on his card. But um yeah, I I I'm told them I don't care what you send me back. I'm very dissatisfied with the product.
Hopefully this product runs. I've had it, you know, once and wires w burned in it and it's just not off-rid. I'm sorry.
It's that's not off- grid. So anyway, whatever. You know, I get on a almost five here in Delaware. Oh my gosh. Wow. It's going up all over the country. We're We're going to 7. We'll be at 10 pretty soon. Between 8 and 10.
Yeah.
Yeah. Bargains. Yeah. Bargains everywhere. $459 upstate. Oh, $459.
Yeah. You guys are getting to our prices and we have $2 and either 18 cents or 46 cents in taxes on top of ours. That brings it up so high.
But you guys must be having some taxes, too.
Very deep in magical rainforest. Oh, okay. A magical rainforest. Do you have birds that sing? Cuz some of these birds do not sing. When I was in Flagstaff, that was one of the worst singing birds I ever heard. And he aggravated the heck out of me. I'm I'm just going there.
Okay. [laughter] You know how I am with nature. What do you need? Marley's here. She knows I'm on my live. Oh, yeah. She's She's such a pain from And you just said, "Well, you just have your hands." The bargain crafter from But where from? Where? Everybody's saying hello.
Washington. What city and state are you in? Who are you asking? Cuz if you're asking me, I'm not going to tell you.
I'm on the internet. This that's a safety issue. If you guys want to tell each other, that's okay. But not me. I'm not telling you. No.
and activate the button. Oh, thank you.
Thank you. Retired live here in Florida. Oh, Florida. Okay, great.
Thank you, Cloverly.
A way to need as less as possible as I can. Yeah, I I'm finding that, too. I've been watching a guy who who does meals for two people for a dollar, and he shows you shopping. The main thing about his his is that it's beans and rice. And I do have beans and rice. I think everybody should have it. Now, he might add peppers or onion or something or or tomato on top of it, but it's basically beans and rice. And now I I got those one can of dehydrated beef and one can of dehydrated chicken.
And I'm starting to use that. And as I'm cooking with it, I'll show you guys. Um, with the rice and beans, you're going to see a lot of rice and beans or just for me, I love cabbage. I love fried cabbage. I do a lot of rice and cabbage and onion, sometimes meat, sometimes not.
And I love the sweet and sour sauce. So, you're going to see a lot of that. Um, but yeah. So, and I love salads, but they're so expensive. I mean, the cabbage was $3.69 for a cabbage this big. It's ridiculous. Well, anyway, as long as you're happy. Thank Yeah.
Thank you. Everybody saying hi.
Yes, I am. I have always put myself on a budget, but I'm really going to be stringing about I buy a lot of food. I I over buy food. I'm always wanting to try something different and spices. No, I'm not doing it anymore. I got rid of all my food, ex excess food out. I gave it away when I was in courtside. I now have an empty ottoman or hassic, whatever you want to say. And I'm going to put that in storage. I may put my seat back in. I don't know. Um, we'll see. I think Marley might be more comfortable in the seat. Marley, did you want to say hello?
You want to get up here? Marley has learned how to roll. Okay. Honestly, my van within five minutes she goes outside, there's leaves, there's she rolls and then she comes in and she shakes.
Oh yeah, I'm talking about you because Come here. Come on. You can get up here.
Come on. You know how to get up. Come on. Come on. Come on. Let's go. Let's go. So, um this is Miss Dirty Marley.
I'm getting ready to have her groomed and chopped all just all of it off. I do have her uh her water that that cooling vest that I I soak in water. We're getting that out. I've got it and I'm going to start using it on her so she doesn't get warm. But she is she is absolutely filthy. We have leaves down here. Look, look, look, look, look. It's all over her. And she waits till she gets in the van and shakes it all off.
And I'm cleaning the van like every two or three minutes cuz she's in and out all the time, aren't you? You want to say hello to everybody? Are you going to look at them? Well, look. Look. Just right there. Right there. No. No. You're not going to do it. Okay. All right.
Whatever.
She knows I'm talking about it. And she hates it when I get on the phone. Oh, she's such a pest. When I get on the phone, she knows I'm doing a live.
She'll start doing stuff, guys. She's a mess.
Mar. Oh, you said, "How is Marley retired life?" There she is. Oh, yeah.
Gas. I'm really trying to be careful. Uh the VA is sending me all over 60 miles there, 70 m, but they are uh reimburseing re reimbursing me. I haven't gotten a reimbursement check yet, but supposedly they will. I have gotten an a lowinccome um dentist that I'm going to see next Monday. tomorrow is my eyes upon I'm switching everything over to VA or affordable uh there are lowincome places like for instance the one I'm going to is $99 a year you get three cleanings and two fillings for $99 a year that's pretty cheap I don't need three cleanings but but you know one or two it's f because a cleaning well not the intense cleaning but a regular cleaning is $200 or $300 at a dentist this. And now on Saturday, I'm taking Marley for her shots. They're $85 at the vet. I took her to the vet. And the vet said on Saturday, they've got the shots for $25 at the SPCA. You just got to get in line and plan on spending the whole day there till you can get the shots for your dog. But it's just worth it. So, Saturday, we're going to get in line for shots from Marley from the SPCA. and she needs three, you know, that yearly or every two, three years, whatever. So, that's I mean, we just have full I'm constantly and I'm going to do a video to show you what I did with the ice co and how it looks in the back. I'm constantly doing stuff. I I just don't stop. I was talking to a friend today. I have to stop, but there's so many things to do while I'm here. And you know, I'm constantly wanting to improve my lifestyle in the van. Plus, now we have the heat. So, it's Yeah. 650. Paid 650 per gallon. Oh my gosh. Yeah.
California. Yeah. 655 for me is to make it to my next birthday. May 20 May 28th.
Happy birthday, Kay Ford. How old are you going to be? Happy 21. Hi, Terry.
How are you?
It took $17 to put a quarter tank uh in my threecylinder vehicle. Oh, really? Well, mine takes a hundred. Now it's about $140 to fill my tank. I don't let my tank get below half. I I No, I just cuz I get very upset. And now I limit how much I put in. I only put in $60. I don't care what the price is. I'm only spending $16. 16 $60.
I'm playing games with myself, but that's the only way I'm going to be able to deal with it. And uh I just I'm driving, but I'm not driving as much as I did. And I'm trying to just stay in one town and, you know, just have certain places I can go during the day safely. Nobody's going to say anything.
We can take stay under the trees with a breeze hopefully. I mean, when it's 113.
No, I'm going to be running that air conditioner.
Hi Py, how are you?
Thanks in my Yeah. Yeah, I know. I know.
And somebody has a May 10th happy birthday. I've just missed I just messed up. Oh my gosh. You know, I try not to do this. Hi, Tripping.
I reta. No dairy, no sugar, no pasta, no rice, no fast food. I make my own foods.
I'm making my garlic and and that's great. But um No, I'm I'm I'm I I eat all that stuff. [laughter] I do.
I'm not the healthiest person, but I'm almost 80, so whatever. Whatever works for everybody.
Forgot that part. Oh, yeah. Uh $7 to $9 per steak. Piece of beef it up into steaks for Let's see. I'm considering getting the huge 15lb piece of beef. Cut it up into steaks for like7 or $9 per steak. Yeah, I'm I'm looking at $45 for two little steaks. Are you kidding me? We used to in the 60s buy a half a cow. We had a huge, you know, chest freezer. And they would cut it for us. We'd get it from the farmers. Every year they'd come to sell us a half a cow. They'd add so many chickens and so much pork was always a year. And we it was $400 or $500 even then. But it was our whole year. So I didn't grocery shop at a grocery store. I picked at the fields. I would pick my own corn and can it my tomato. I mean I I would go and pick. You could take a bushel and pick and pay by the bushel. Not anymore, but when I was young, that's what we did. I wasn't used to going to grocery stores.
Who's invited? Okay, guys. Oh, it did it again. It does this every single time, no matter what I do. So, we're just going to have to deal with it. I just had my tripping. Happy birthday. I'm older than dirt. Yeah, don't don't.
Dirt's pretty old.
Uh CJ, hi CJ Ryan Ruffage. I am now saving that and freezing it because our grandparents used to make stock out of it. So, instead of buying beeftock, I'm just going to start making my vegetable stock. freezing, you know, the ends of onions, the ends of cabbage, the ends of celery. I'm just freezing it and when I get enough, I'm going to make stock.
Yeah, you guys are talking to each other. Good. Don't try cuz I'm all over the place. Yeah, everything's up.
Martine, everything. I mean, it's just I'm going down. CJ is here. Tripping's here. Uh Are you uh retired? I do keep my generator full. My um in fact, I'm going to get I don't have a two gallon um container and it only takes two gallons to fill up my generator which lasts 5 hours. I don't think that's cheap at all. But I want a second one. So I have four. So I'll have 10 hours worth sitting here. But I do keep it I do keep it Yes. full with one tank with the tank full with one full container.
CJ got to keep things moving if you know what I mean. Yeah, you got to. When I get down to a quarter, I fill back up.
Yeah, I'm half right now. Half tank because you never know when something's going to happen and you have to evacuate. You're not going to get far on an empty tank of gas. So, I'm just thinking evacuation disaster. No, no, no less than a half a tank. That's just me.
When I get down to Okay, 757 Canadian a gallon for gas in Canada. Oh my goodness. You're already up there. May 28th, I'll be 7. Well, happy 79. Great.
Great. You're older than me. K Ford, you're older than me. Yay. Sorry. Happy birthday.
I'm just laughing.
Uh, everybody's saying happy birthday.
Yeah, you have to retire like, you have to enjoy whatever you can at the moment.
Is this Monica? Hi, Monica. You always come in blue. I don't know why.
Yeah, you do. Uh, everybody's different.
Our bodies are different. We age differently. Everything's different. Not not any one human being is the same as another one. Our opinions are different.
Our lifestyle, how we lived is different. So, we're not the same. We may have similar thoughts. We may have similar processes. We may be going through similar things at this age, but we're not the same. So, I totally agree.
No, it's not my birthday. Not till July 29th. July 29th, it'll be my birthday.
So, no, we're a long way away. Farmers are going to feel the gas prices. Yeah, that that's um you know, I've I've stopped hoarding food. I've stopped it.
I've been ho, you know, prepping for food and it's upsetting me so much because all I want to do is spend money prepping food. Stop totally. I've cold turkey. stopped prepping for for anything. Um, I have enough and like I said, I gave all that food away. I have more room in my van and I'm not going to do it anymore. I have a lot of rice and beans. So, I am kind of partially prepped, but fort total basics. Total basics. I might get a little honey and I might get some lard. I had some lard. It all melted and went through everything. I had some coconut oil melted and it was closed in a jar and it came out of the jar. I was Yeah. So, I've had a lot of disasters with my my prepping. Um, it doesn't work in a van. No. Uh, let's see. Yeah. Far the food is I think our food is going to get so expensive, guys. I I just Let's see. You buy a can of tuna, mix in eggs, breadcrumbs, and seasoning. my cheap burger. Well, it sounds good. I don't I don't use eggs in much of anything. I don't really care for the taste of eggs. Uh scrambled or an omelette maybe, but you got to have a lot of other things on it. I'm just not an egg person. For some reason, I don't know why you're going. Are you going, retired life? Okay. Thanks for coming. Thank you for coming. I don't know what that is.
That's cool. Also, I have my garden started already. Most people should have. Uh, I wished I had a plot for a garden. I won't have it in the desert. I'm worried about they talked about the Colorado River. Oh, no, it wasn't the Colorado River. You know, I'm always watching documentaries. Um, it was Hoover Dam. They said they shut it down because there's not enough water on me Lake and now it's below the Is that true, guys? Do any of you know that? I saw that article two days ago and they've shut it down. They say they're running out of water in the col we're not getting any snow in the Rockies and Colorado River. You know it Nevada, Arizona, California, and one other state is New Mexico.
Um it feeds us all. We've overbuilt in in this desert. I I'm scared of having land in the desert. No water. I keep thinking about the water and the heat.
That's not me. I don't know. I keep thinking Missouri. I love Missouri.
YouTube is all screwed up. I'm an old it an old it tech. I barely touch the screen and it throws me off of you.
Yeah. I I'm nowhere near the down arrow.
I'm over here and it's still pushing me down. CJ, it's just ridiculous. Oh, see it just did it. I'm nowhere near it.
it. People like salmon potty. I don't even I don't like the smell of salmon.
My dad and them used to eat it and I would I just wanted to vomit. So, I don't eat it at 34. Used to cost seven. Now, it's 15.
Yeah, I see you, Martina. Yeah, you do.
Put your coconut oil jar in a ziplo to help from leaking everywhere. Okay, I'm not buying it anymore. I'm a cool I'm in a cooler climate. You probably are.
I was a medical mystery twice, Monica.
So I cannot follow those. Okay, you got See, I'm all over the place because it keeps sending me down. What's your favorite food to eat? I don't who know who Blues are your moderators. Oh. Oh, okay. Monica, you're my you prepped and you're holding.
Who is Linda's here? Linda. Hi, Linda. I've missed so many people. I hope I apologize.
What? I've If I missed you, it just sends me to the bottom.
Okay, you're not going anywhere. Break's over.
Got to get back to the floor. Great to see you. I got a new Oh, you got a new job at Lowe's. So, you were on your break. Thank you for joining us, Tamara.
Thank you so much.
Salmon patties with tuna. Mom always did salmon patties that way. I'm kind of afraid of fish. Even the tuna, you got to buy certain brands. I saw a documentary on the tuna and which ones to buy and which ones not to. I mean, there's so many doom and gloom videos.
Don't eat this. Don't eat that. This has this. This has that. Scary, huh? I'm afraid to eat anything. Rice and beans.
Oh, well.
I'll see you next time, Tamara. My garden is growing well. Good. Good.
A lot of people love salmon. I I just can't eat it and I can't smell it. Isn't that awful? I wish I did.
But now they say the salmon's not so safe.
Now I can't afford even. Yeah, I know.
Lots of people used to make them.
Yes. Congratulations. We love Missouri.
Pawsum stops. Hi, Pawsum stops. It's your first time, too. I love Missouri. I think it's a beautiful state. Lots of water. I just got a fishing license. I hope to start fishing this weekend. Are you What are you going to be fishing for?
What's your favorite food? I don't really [clears throat] Hi, Mary. Listening while I package up meat for the freezer. Um, I don't really chili. Chili.
I eat chili all the time. Um, it's safe.
It's not fattening.
Uh, it's very versatile. I can put it over rice. I can put noodles in it.
Yeah. Chili. Yeah. You're always going to see me with hamburger if I can afford it.
Hi, Linda. How are you? Linda Hackett, another Missuran. Lindy, when you come south in the farming areas, they have signs saying the government is giving our water away to other states or countries. We need new lead we've needed new leadership in California for a long time.
We've tried it voting that sucker out twice now. What's our problem? And and the farmers are putting up signs uh stay, keep voting dem Never mind. I don't want to get political, but yeah, our state's just being destroyed.
Yeah, I don't even want to go there.
Wild caught fish of any kind. Except that if they're eating the wrong stuff, retired life.
What are they eating? Chemicals. I'm not a cat, Yavon.
Who said you were a cat, Yavon?
Okay, I will be 67. Congratulations. Happy birthday, Py. 67 and Junior, baby.
Wildcaugh is the best. First, you got to catch it. Yeah. And you have to buy a license. How expensive is your license?
So, you've already paid for fish.
I will be back. Okay. Bass. I'll tell you one of my favorite fish. I'm not into fish. Neither is Jason.
Catfish. fried catfish.
Um, we had a lot of that when I was younger. We didn't have salmon. We had catfish. And I really like fried catfish. And whenever I find it, I try I try to eat it. Yeah.
Speaking spiral. Hi, how are you? Fun making. When I used to eat it, I would use spicy crackers to mix and m Oh, okay. Yeah, I've never done it. Same here in New York.
Everybody's talking to each other. Mix chili with mashed potatoes. Make burritos or tacos. I freeze. Oh, that's a good idea. Um mashed I've also seen them with just fried potatoes, you know, you put in there. And what were the other things? Like corn chips. They're so bad for you. They're so bad.
So bad.
My mother made salmon patties with crunched up crackers. Consumer prices are up 4%. Again, beef is up 14%. It's on world news tonight now. But, you know, it's not more than 4%, Martina.
I've seen some things go up 100%. The prices are outrageous. We used to buy 66 cents for a can of corn and now it's $1.13. That's 100%.
4% over when you know I mean they're trying to sell us a bill of goods. I'm sorry. Yeah, but but we all know every single one of us know.
Watch the Mercury and the fish. That's right. I don't like salon tumin. Not a not a cat. Oh, okay. So, yeah. Well, I guess you could say that about me, too.
I do like tuna and I like tuna salad and I I like um I like stuffed peppers with tuna salad or stuffed avocado. I like that kind of stuff. $5 for senior fishing. Oh, that's not bad. Oh, I got my free American America beautiful pass for military. You get a free one. So now I can go all over the United States and all the national parks for free. I think it's wrong that we have to get a license to catch fish.
We've always had to possum. Even when I was a kid, even in the 60s and 50s, you had to have a license. That's one way I guess they feel of protecting it and keeping the environment clean. Whatever.
Whatever. I don't know.
Must be two Linda. There's a Linda, a hacket, and another Linda. I thought you were talking to me earlier. I don't know who I'm talking to, Linda. I just see the name Linda. I I'll have to say the last names, huh?
Here's Linder. L I N D E R. Linders 46.
Hi. That's your first time. Tripping.
And you can catch your own and wash and cook yourself. Yeah. You know, you have to know how to fillet fish to get those bones out.
Marley doesn't like fish either. She won't eat it. I do go to the Asian market and I do buy fried fish.
And it's not catfish. It's I don't know what kind of fish it is. I'm sure it's fish particles, but I do like it once in a while. It's something different. Am I doing something wrong with trying to hit the heart?
Uh, I have no idea. I have to get it from my own keyboard. I don't know, CJ. Mercury propaganda is over and done.
I have no idea. Speaking. I like G.
Yeah, I like Gordon's and Mrs. Paul's.
Yeah, if I can heat it up in the air fryer. Again, I don't because I'm I don't eat it that often. I don't buy it that much. I'd buy a small package and then I'm now that I have a freezer. I saw some chicken country fried steak.
Four patties I think um at Walmart. They look pretty good. They were seven $7 for four frozen patties. Uh they were already cooked all they were for the air fryer. I wouldn't mind trying them.
They're a little [cough] excuse me, a little more than I want to expend, but they're I'm going to try them now that I have a freezer. Well, I got to make sure I don't put any ice cream in there. I have strawberries.
You have to wonder how Native Americans survived the heat. Uh I saw something on that. And um they're a lot more intelligent than I am. Honestly, they know how to do it just like their teepeees and everything else. It all came down through generations, you know.
So, we're not used to it. We're spoiled.
Uh I mean, when I was younger, we all we had was the um the water cooler, you know, the it came out of the ceiling and it was cooled by water. That's what we had. I forget what you call it now.
phone, home computer. Okay, Von can help you. Yeah, everybody's saying hello to everybody.
Tuna fish. Yummy. I had one occasional treat I used to get for $4. Now it is over eight. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I have to walk away with a lot of walk away from a lot of stuff. And now I'm getting to the point where 90% of the time I only hit the sale aisles. A grocery outlet the sales are all all mixed in.
If you go at certain times of the day, [clears throat] that's when you find them. But even then, they spoil so fast you have to eat it, you know. Or now that I have a freezer here, you're going to hear me say that a lot. It's going to save me a lot because I can freeze a lot. Um, sometimes I can find a I found a ham, not a ham, a pork roast about this big for $5. That's like 10 15 meals for me.
You know, I can make burritos. I can make curry stew. I can do all kinds of things with that. So, and it was $5. But I just freeze it and then, you know, I got the Lifetime America, the beautiful past, too. I love it. Yeah. I haven't had it. Uh I've had something else, haven't I, Mary? I don't. The state. I've had the state pass, but not the American. But now I have it.
They gave it to us for free. Click the thumbs. Oh, thank you so much, Monica.
Everybody's pretty much staying up there. Yeah. 38.
Only thing about that park pass is need the money for gas to get there. Yes.
Yes. I'm not traveling this summer.
I really don't have the money and I have a lot of medical issues that I've got to get taken care of. I didn't do any last year. This year, I've got to straighten it all out. Hi, Rose Grace. Nice to see you. They've been doing that doing that food doom and gloom for decades. I know.
And I'm getting tired of it. Sorry. I just am. Um makes good videos and it's nice to know. I do watch them, you know, honey and salt and all this, but I'm not stocking up anymore. I'm done. I'm done.
Spent too much.
Forgot. Done deal. Thank you, CJ. Thank you.
You did say my last name. Not your fault. It was me. Okay, good. Good. You still have your cash app linked to this?
Yeah, I do. Um, that's the only way I'm going to get anything. Uh, several people have asked for my address, said they would set, but I haven't gotten anything in my address, and I I really hate putting my address up anymore. I hate putting my email up right now. Uh, I am working on another channel. I I never got to that. I don't mind being a small channel, guys. I really don't.
It's more intimate. You know, your subscribers better. But I will ask you something.
If you were a member, if you join now, I had 66 members. I always felt guilty. I never felt like I gave them enough. And this is a question for you. When I get monetized, and I will be monetized by the I hope by the end of the month, maybe I'm going to say by the end of the month. I may not make it, but I'm going to plan on it. Um, what would And I'm thinking maybe just one category.
What would you want? Now, it'd have to be once or twice a month for membership.
What would you want to see for your membership?
And it's not going to be more than5 or $6, but what would you want if you paid that for a member? What would you want to see? So, I I'd appreciate you guys telling me.
Hi, Von. Okay. Uh, sounds good. Okay.
Air fryers are pretty nice. They are.
And I bought a $15 one three years ago and I still use it. Um, yeah, it's small. The problem is my air fryer is small. Nothing wrong with that, but they let out a lot of heat. Jason has a big one with double doors. I really wanted one. And then I was in his kitchen and feeling the heat in his kitchen with air conditioner going, there's no way I'm going to run one out here with the heat.
I don't want to heat up my van except in the winter, but in the summer you really have to be careful about your cooking. I cook like at 1:00 in the morning sometimes. Um, I wake up and I'm like, "Okay, I better cook my chili." And then I just heat it up with the co the slow cooker or a little skillet cuz I I don't want any heat in here. It's already too hot. Yeah. But I like the air fryer.
It's on her page, I think. Uh uh yeah, it is. It's on in my description. I have it in on my description on all my videos. I love Yeah, I like mine. It's just a little small. I like to make bigger so that I don't have to cook all the time. All I have to do is heat up.
That's all I want to do. And um I was going to tell you too, there's this fan.
I'm going to tell you about this. I don't know what the name of it is.
Product desk fan.
I'll have to find this out. This lasts this last if on low for almost like 14 hours on one charge.
I have two of them. I mean, they're amazing. They hang, they click, or they sit. They're amazing. And 22 bucks. When I was with Mary at Padre Island, they were 22 bucks. Mary Mary helped me pick them out.
uh evaporative cooler. You're right, Linda. Yes, that's what we always had.
That's what this breeze thing is. And um when I start using it, I do use a lot of ice for that. But now that I have the freezer again, I bought I haven't bought ice for three days and I still have one bag of ice. So, I'm feeling good. I'm feeling good.
My four evapor I pour a gallon of ice water. any Yeah, but the water heats up so much. Bons I just have the breeze uh for breeze. I have one that clips and it's a little one to sit here. I'm going to have to get it out and put it here.
So, when I do my my talk, I had this fan. It just died, but it's been going since yesterday and hasn't been plugged in. So, I knew might go during this. Um yeah, I the breeze I now what's the name of it? Gosh, guys, you know what? I Anyway, I've been using them for like three years. I saw it a new one. Breeze something or other. It's $89. No. And it was a long thin one. I think they're the same. Yeah. I just think um an air conditioner. You can you need the compressor unless I can find something different. The com the compressor with the air conditioner and the Yeah, that's the best way to food last long. Yeah. Deep freeze. We had a huge We had a room for our deep freezer because we had so much meat in it and every I'm telling you guys, I don't know why we stopped doing that cuz that was Missouri. I think you could still do it with some farmers, but they had a whole thing set up. Yeah, those were the days, weren't they? I can't remember it exactly. Somebody says is all we had when Yeah, that's what we had. sale items only for me and my freezer is a blessing. Yeah, this is going to be a blessing for me. You know, if I find some meat that's halfway decent sale, hamburgers mainly the thing, but like I told you, if I find a pork roast, I can do a lot with that. I don't buy steak at all. I don't buy roast even on sale. I can't afford it. I I looked at the roast and I went and chuck roast has always been my favorite.
Can't even touch it. And I'm not going to I'm not going to eat that kind of you know what happens to food. It comes out the other end. Okay, I'm going to be honest. So, close your ears. Comes out the other end. You know what food is.
It's here just here to nourish us. So, why would I pay $45 for $50 or $60 for a roast? I won't do it. [laughter] I'm so bad. I won't do it. I'm not flushing it down the toilet.
Oh, your grocery outlet closed. Oh, no.
Now I got to go five plus miles each way now. Oh, okay. Mine I just opened maybe three years ago and he's a middle-aged man about 55. I see him there every day.
The owner. They're all franchised and owned by somebody. So could have been somebody who's retired and didn't sell it. I don't know. And and each one of them seem to have something different.
They're not all the same. Um yeah, we love the America the beautiful pads.
Good. I bet you use it to I'm going to South Dakota Kuster State Park this summer and around Wisconsin. Oh, you know I haven't been to South Dakota.
I've been through it. North Dakota, South Dakota. I've not been to Maine in uh Maine, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Those three. New York I think is absolutely gorgeous. Upstate New York. But um Connecticut I would imagine they're quite beautiful. Those seem to be beautiful states. We have a motorcycle leaving. He just I'm in a park and ride.
Okay. So people are Oh, he knew he knew I was on here. The little jerk.
Somebody's getting towed, too. Well, we've got some activity here.
I'm going to sell. Okay.
Veteran. Oh, for goodness sake. Here we go. I just something about veteran Jason the look for the wonder oven pro.
Total game changer. Look for the one.
Who's on here?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Uh, okay. So, I'm back. We love them.
All right. Okay. So, you and here we go.
Veterans deserve that free national.
Yeah, we do. Thanks for you. Well, I didn't serve like these kids are doing now over there. I would. Anyway, if people want to contact you, they can do it in the comment section after. Yeah, they can. They can. Yeah, you can contact me. I I look at every comment. I do. Have you ever thought about getting a junior ranger badge at the national parks? Is a free My Where would I put it? Pawsome. I live in a van. Don't forget.
[laughter] No, I don't think about getting anything.
Uh, if the government has the national parks open, they're closing a lot of them and firing workers. They say they can't afford it. There are millions and billions of acres of of forest out there. So, we'll see. We don't know what tomorrow's going to bring. I'm tired of worrying about things to be honest with you. Every time I read something else, some doom or gleam, I'm like, "Oh, I I'm just tired of it. I just I'm just gonna, you know, look for the kindness, lift up those rocks, and say, "Where's that kindness? [laughter] I'm just I'm done. I'm kind of done really, you know, with a lot of this doom and gloom. We just got too much of it.
Uh they fought to protect, so they should be able and they can visit it.
Yeah, a lot of, you know, a lot of them are disabled, guys. Playlist and loop shuffle for more views. Thank you so much, Monica. Thank you. Create a play.
I have a playlist.
Um, but it's not big. I mean, I I don't have I had 1,200 videos on the last one.
1,200.
What have I got? 36 now. 40. It's It's not the same. And I really appreciate you viewing and using the playlist. I really appreciate that, guys. I really do. And I know you're trying to help me.
I'm just not going to worry. You know, I'm not going to be dependent on YouTube money anymore. It's if I ever make any again, I'm going to put it in savings.
I'm not going to be dependent on it.
Tell Jason the look for the Wonder Oven Pro. Wonder Oven Pro. Why?
Why, Mary? What's Wonder Oven Pro? Okay.
Uh, rice cookers are great. Yes, rice cookers you can cook everything in. You can cook meat in them. They're just like a slow cooker, but they're they get hotter. Uh, I watched this one gentleman 2013, 2014. It's all he used to cook with was a rice cooker as he traveled and he plugged it into his cigarette lighter and he would cook. It was great. That's the only thing he had. And a lot of people, that's all you need. You can cook your meat in it. You can cook slow.
I mean, it's a great piece. If you had one thing, that would be it. You don't need a stove, anything else. Just a rice cooker. You just got to know how to cook in a rice cooker.
I got a fan like that. Did you? Yeah.
And they're great.
Same. Oh, good. So, we we're all smart.
We all found some. I love my rice cooker. Yeah. These rice cookers, that's all you need. You don't need anything else. If that's all you have is a rice cooker, make sure it's a cigarette lighter rice cooker. Plug it in and drive and cook. Yeah, throw a lot of water in the water for the evaporator cooler. Oh, that's a good idea, Vons. I didn't think about that. [snorts] I'm out. I have been a beautiful day, Lindy. God bless you. Thank you so much for being here, Yavon. Thank you guys so much. Yeah, it is about time. Arctic.
Yes. Yes, Vans. Arctic something is the little evaporate. Yeah, Arctic. I've had tons of those and I love them. I do. And they do work. They just don't work. And I since my surgery, I'm so sensitive to the heat, it's really hard. Fred Meyer Smith has a 50/50 beef pork mix. Much more affordable. Oh, I'll have to look for that. Thank you. Uh, you eat in one end to poop. Yeah, that's true. From Arctic Air. Yes, thank you. Yeah, I live in upstate. It is beautiful in New York.
Yeah, Clover. Oh, it's beautiful, Clover. It's beautiful. I love the beef pork hamburger mix for spaghetti sauce.
They have a turkey taco turkey um roll like a ham hamburger a one pound. It's like a dollar some less than$2 dollars for it. It's delicious for tacos or or uh Yeah, it's delicious. Now some of the others I don't like, but that one is really really good.
Okay, so Sila, hi. How are you? We live in a van, too. Lol. I put them on the ceiling and hats. Oh, good idea. Yeah, a lot of people have them on the ceiling. I I have mine sitting clo I just want things sitting close to me. Oh, I think my bar is rusting. Oh my goodness. I'm just noticing things. No worry zone. I like it. Yeah, I don't want to worry. The government is not closing national parks. Where in the hell did you hear that? Um, yeah. The Wonder Pro is an upgraded air fryer, everything countertop cooker. I have a Fabear. The Wonder Pro is like an ice coat. Oh, really? Really?
Does it not put out too much heat, Mary?
I need one that doesn't put out too much heat. I think I'm at the end.
All right. Listen, guys. Thank you so much for joining me, and thank you for supporting me and being there for me.
Uh, and like I said, if I grow, I grow, but I'd rather have quality subscribers instead of quantity. I will see you next week. Hello. I will watch this from the beginning. And who is that? Stephanie.
Hi, Stephanie. Um, you guys all have a great week. I'll see you next Tuesday.
