While nothing can move through space faster than light (186,000 mph), galaxies at the edge of the universe are moving away from us faster than light because the universe itself is stretching, making the expansion of space the fastest phenomenon in existence.

The Only Thing in the Universe That Breaks the Speed Limit! 🌌Añadido:
Think a cheetah is fast? Or a fighter jet?
Try again. The fastest things in existence [music] will completely break your brain. On Earth, the peregrine falcon owns [music] the animal kingdom, diving at a terrifying 240 mph. That's 390 km/h, or over 100 m/s.
But on land, the absolute record belongs to Thrust SSC, clocking in at 763 mph, which is 1,228 km/h, or 341 m/s. That's faster than a bullet.
In the air, NASA's [music] X-43A scramjet hit Mach 9.6. That's nearly 7,000 mph, over 11,000 km/h, or about 3,000 m/s.
But space is on a whole different level.
Right now, NASA's Parker Solar [music] Probe is orbiting the sun at an insane 430,000 mph. That is 692,000 km/h, [music] or a mind-blowing 192,000 m/s. At that speed, you could fly from New York to Tokyo in under a minute.
Of course, nothing moves through space faster than light at 186,000 mph, which is roughly 300,000 km, or 300 million m/s. Except, there's a loophole.
Galaxies at the edge of the universe are moving away from us faster than light.
How? They aren't moving through space.
The universe itself is stretching, meaning the fastest thing ever isn't an object at all. It's the universe itself.
