INSTALLING LONG TUBE HEADERS ON MY CTS-VAdded:
Temptation creeping [music] up. The devil playing with me homies. I came up with a staying with me. [singing] Too many people around me. They got [music] plans for me. You been a hit. [singing] P YouTube. What's popping, man? How y'all living? How y'all feeling? Hey, check the V. Sitting pretty in the back though. Hey, it's been a minute since I picked this camera up. I'm not going to lie. It's been too long. As of today, I think it's been about a month. Actually, over a month since I dropped my last video. No excuses. I've been lagging.
That's on me. But nonetheless, we back, you feel me? And as y'all can see by the title in the thumbnail, we got some 2-in long tube headers and Xpipe and some other maintenance getting done to the V today. Very, very, very long awaited mod because I need noise. Like, the car sound good, don't get me wrong, it sound amazing, you know, but not good enough to where I can enjoy it. Like, I want to hear the car when I downshift. I want to hear it scream. I want to, you know, y'all know how it go, man. I want the car to sound good, man. I want to wake it up a little bit. But I was going back and forth between getting the axle back because I would get the noise without having to worry about getting the tune and all that extra stuff or if I wanted to just go ahead and get the 2in headers and whatnot. And I think I've had the car for a decent amount of time to where I can justify actually getting those headers, throwing my intake back on, and getting the tune. If y'all remember a couple videos ago, I had um bought a Roto Fab Big Gulp and I threw it on but took it off the same video because I can't run it without a tune. I know I should have done more research, you feel me? Um but nonetheless, I don't want to do too much talking, but just make sure y'all get in the comment section down below. Let me know how y'all living. Let me know how y'all feeling. What's the latest, man? What's on your mind, you know? But as y'all can see here go the headers right here. You got a little sneak peek. Gaskets, manifold gaskets.
Um, and if I pop the trunk, we got oil filter, DSX flex fuel kit, some plugs, oil, HP tuners dongle, and the Xpipe and the other exhaust piping are in that box right there. But I don't want to talk your heads off too much. I'm going to give you a nice little cold start. The car is pretty filthy. Oh my gosh. We've been sitting outside for a little I usually have her parked in the garage, but I had washed the Jeep and yeah, I just, you know, this was dirty. That was clean, so I put that in the garage. But I'm going a little cold start real quick, real fast. Not too bad. That was in tour, too. I don't think it's in track, so it definitely would have barked a lot louder if it was in track or sport. But about to make my way over to the shop, you feel me? Um, my boy Jay should be pulling up. Um, I don't know.
I'll let him know by the time I'm over there. And we just go ahead and we just gonna go ahead and get to taking this car apart and doing what we do. I don't know. I ain't no crazy expert. I ain't no you feel me performance specialist, but I you know know my way around the car for the most part. I know enough.
And we going to go ahead and get this done. I'm super excited to hear how this car going to turn out. Um yeah, I'm geeked. I'm not going to lie. I'm really excited. Uh the intake we going to go on, we going to throw the thing on E.
We're curious. I'm getting tuned by GPI.
So, GPI offers a remote tuning package where basically you get remote tuned by them, you feel me? Look them up. I'm anticipating this being somewhat of a long video, you know? Um, this isn't a tutorial. I'm not going to show yall step by step how I'm going to do what I'm doing. But, at the same time, I want to show you the process. Want to have fun, chop it up with y'all, just vibe and have a good time, you know. Um, so it'll probably be a long video cuz we're going to unbox everything we have in the back and we're going to take the car apart, install everything all in this video. I'm assuming. I'm not too sure.
Maybe I might separate, you know, a couple parts for different videos. That way I get some more content out of it.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do, you know. Um, I'm just here. I'm excited.
I'm super super super super happy to finally wake this thing up and see what she can really do. I'm going to make my way over to the shop and I'll get up with y'all boys in a quick second, man.
YouTube, we back at the shop. I'm laughing cuz I just got off the phone with my boy. It don't even matter. But V at the shop sitting nice and pretty, you feel me? But boom. As y'all can see here, we have all the goodies that we need. So, I did go with the speed engineering headers and Xpipe kit. Um, whole bunch of other brands you can go with. And this is definitely like a controversial type of topic for some people, you feel me? Because speed engineering is definitely the cheapest out of like any kind of headers you can get like from Cooks to American Racing to whatever you feel me um stainless they're all like these are definitely the cheapest on the market you know some people frown upon them some people have them and say they work just as well some shops don't like them some shops don't install them at all you feel me but this is what I went with you feel me for the price I couldn't beat it I mean every other um I mean for my headers and Xpipe together. I think I was paying like half the price of probably even less than half the price of what you would pay for some of these bigger brands. And you know, I'm sure like their quality of work is way better. A matter of fact, I know it is, you know, but this was just a no-brainer for me for the price. So, I went with Speed Engineering. Here we have the I want to say this is the uh Yeah, this is all the This is the Xpipe, mid pipe, whatever you call this extra stuff. all the piping that you need, you know, to get everything situated, you feel me? Um, I'll probably have this laid out on the floor at some point, but for now, I guess we can just leave all this alone. Here go the clamps. I went with the standard band clamps. Um, only because I'm going to just rock those for now until I decide to probably get it welded, but if there's no leaks, I'm going just leave it alone. I'm not going to do too much, nothing crazy, you know.
Um, I've heard and done my research and people say these work just as fine, you feel me? As long as you install them properly, you know? But, uh, yeah, that's that as far as this box. More clamps, um, more connecting pipes. Here in this box, we have oil. I think I already showed you guys this oil dongle.
This is not my dongle. Got to return this to person it belongs to plugs, oil filter, flex fuel kit, DSX, and then here go the American, not American. Here [laughter] go I I wish, right? Um here go the actual headers. Um these are OEM uh manifold gaskets from GM. And um it's so wild because these are on back order everywhere cuz according to what the dealership was telling me um a lot of the uh newer Gen 5 LTS are on um recall.
you feel me? Because of some kind of like engine seizing situation. So like yeah, these are getting replaced like left and right and they're on back order everywhere and nobody has these. I really should have bought they had six of them. I really should have bought all of them, you feel me? [laughter] And sold them joints. Now I'm trolling. But yeah, here we go. Uh OEM G uh manifold gaskets. And then these are the actual long tube headers themselves.
And honestly, I haven't I don't see any issue or problem with these headers. I'm not going to lie. Granted, I'm not no expert on, you feel me, what I guess you could say greater versus like lesser quality would be, but there's nothing about these headers that I see that I have an issue with. The welds obviously aren't the best. You feel me? Y'all can take a look at that. They're definitely not the best, you know? And from just looking at different pictures from like more I guess reputable reputable uh header brands, um the welds are definitely better on a lot of the domestic stuff. And then if you look on this specific tube, this is not one pipe. This is one, two, three different pipes welded into one. So that's another thing that I've noticed and a lot of other people have noticed as well, but some people have them, some people don't. Um, but other than that, the quality of the things are actually pretty nice. You feel me? For the price, I mean, it doesn't get any better than that. Other than that, let me see what else can I say? I noticed. Not on these specifically, but if you look at some of the, um, other connection pipes, mid pipes, or whatever you call them, things, um, the Xpipe kit, the cuts aren't the best. Like, they're kind of rugged and not as smooth. And you could just tell it was just, you know, rushed a bit. Like if you look inside of this, you can see just like slight minor imperfections that I'm sure you probably wouldn't get when or if you went with a more expensive and reputable option, you know, but nonetheless, I'm happy with this purchase. Nothing, no complaints whatsoever so far. Um I know some people complain about fitment. We'll get we'll just have to see. You feel me? As of right now, um everything seems to be pretty smooth. And yeah, in this box we also have some O2 extensions, uh, spark plug wire sleeve.
Not sure if those are actually needed, but I got them anyways cuz why not? Um, they weren't too bad. I think it was like 20 bucks for all eight. And then actual spark plug extensions, 10in spark plug extensions, obviously, cuz the spark plug wire would need to be extended. So, I don't know. Did that make any sense? Spark plug wires. Yeah, that's what I meant to say. I don't know. But and we got ARP header bolts.
But enough talking your heads off. I know I want to see some action. So right now I'mma back the car up, get it on the lift and probably drain this oil, you feel me? While the car is still warm. Um and then um if my boy J pull up cuz he just called me say he pulling up. I didn't think he was going to pull up. He probably he didn't think I was serious about actually working on the car, you feel me? So um we'll see how that goes.
But yeah, get up in a little bit.
YouTube is popping. So car's up in the lift right now. I'm about to do a quick oil change, you know, while the car is warm before we get to unscrewing a whole bunch of nonsense. I don't know what I'm doing. This is my first time ever doing something like this. So, we're just going to figure it out as we go. But yeah, I'm pretty excited.
>> Drop the muffler. Drop the whole exhaust bolts. Oh, did right. Let me see if we can space some PP Blaster while we at some WD40 on WD40.
>> Really? I ain't never used no PB Blaster. Quick little old plug. Quick little oil change. Some old plug. What is a old plug, [ __ ] Made a little mess. That's I know, right? It's kind of dark.
>> No, not really.
>> Huh? Look, bro. Only got like I want to say almost 90,000 miles in this oil.
First things first, O2 sensors got to go blow it. Just pop this one out. And we're just basically going to drop this whole exhaust. So, I ain't going to bore y'all. You feel me? Pop the O2 sensors off. And then what? We going to start from the We going to start from engine bay back or Yeah. All right. Bet. Cool.
>> [snorts] >> I'm going push towards you. I'm going push towards you.
>> It's not I think it's still hanging on something.
>> Yeah. I'm going to push towards you >> now. Hold up. Oh, yeah. You got to grab some bolts, some stuff. All right.
Yeah.
Start it.
That's right. All right, YouTube. So, obviously, not everybody's going to have a lift, but to kind of recap what we just did, all we did was basically unplugged the ultra sensors. We actually took um both of them, left them on the table over there. You got two bolts right here. Not sure what they're called. And then one bolt right here that we place back here. Those are two bolts laying on that table. But once you do that, you basically got I think it's 1 2 3 4 5 six exhaust hangers. But what we found was easier is opposed to removing like the exhaust out the hanger, we just unbolted the hanger from the car and then came right out. So that's that.
Should be fine for now though. That'll be T30s. Yeah. I apologize if y'all boys wanted more of a tutorial. But everything we've done so far has been pretty straightforward. I believe all we did was take off I don't know whatever you call this. The valve cover cover, I guess. But it's two bolts. One, two.
What is this? A T what? 35 >> T30 >> T30 T30 to take those off. The one in the back is a little weird, but it's really not too complicated. If you're somewhat, you know, mechanical savvy, then you'll be able to reach that bolt.
But now we're just unplug the spark plug wires. And I'm about to take this intake box off, too. Get that out the way. And then um yeah, we're just going to start getting these uh manifold bolts off and probably pull it from the bottom of the car. So, we'll lift it back up and go from there. Intake box off. manifold bolts on the way out. He already got three. You got all of them, actually.
There's one more. No, I mean, I have three. You dropped one, didn't you? Was five bolts. One more in the back.
>> Oh, okay. So, they clear from down here.
Can they go up top? Five. Probably the only way. I don't see it clearing down all this. Two factory driver side manifold is out. That was pretty easy.
What was it? Five bolts. Yeah, five bolts.
>> Five bolts. And we just pulled it right out from the top. There's no need to even go under. So, lift and no lift.
That is still an easy step of the job.
We haven't done anything that I don't believe anybody else can't do to be honest. Like if you got some type of sense when it comes to doing this car stuff, everything's pretty easy. Now you going to take these bolts out, not bolts, these plugs out and replace them.
You feel me? With these new MGK, that's a specific type I'm running. This is what the tuner recommended. So that's what we're doing. No, just um standard gap. I don't got to do nothing crazy to them.
probably got to verify them and see.
>> Check the gap.
>> Yeah, but this >> I don't know. It says Google. So, we took the uh what you call it? Valve cover off to try to get some clearance.
But that still wasn't doing too much.
So, what we're about to do now is uh the motor mount, what you call that joint, the bolt out, not the bolt, the uh the nut so we can freely move the motor.
We're going to jack the motor up over to the passenger side and see if we can get some more clearance and go from there.
What's going on right now is while he tries to get this header in from the top, I'm going to try to lift the motor slightly to give him some clearance.
YouTube, we are currently freestyling.
So, right now, um I got my boy Kelvin.
He in the car holding the steering wheel straight. And my boy Jay's unbolting the steering column cuz once that's out the way, I'm like 99% sure this head is going to fall right through. So, yeah, probably more efficient way to do this, but we're just going with the flow and figuring it out. All right, YouTube.
Take 4,000.
Uh, we just took the whole steering rack out, so hopefully that clears enough of what we need. All right, push back to the >> first one in.
>> All right, YouTube. So, we finally got this first header in driver side. And, um, honestly, it wasn't too bad. We just um airbox came out, valve cover came off, and we took the steering rack out.
That's it, right? Oh, and the um we took this the uh the what you call the nut for the motor mount and basically use whatever you call this little thingy thingy to uh push the driver side of the motor up to get some more clearance.
Really wasn't that bad. I ain't going to lie. Follow that formula and you should be all right. So, we got some ARP um header bolts right here. And uh yeah, and we got this gasket right here. It's OEM from GM. So, we should be good here.
OEM from GM OEM from GM. I ain't going to lie, YouTube. I'm about to started just bite off a little more than I could chew. But we got done with this um driver side header, but the bolt furthest back to the firewall was acting a little funny, you feel me? Um but nonetheless, it's up. It's put together.
drive shaft, not drive shaft, steering rack is back in place and we're just going to smoke test, you feel me? Uh, this one side just to make sure, you feel me? Um, you know, there's no exhaust leaks. But I'm tired, bro. This joint is crazy. I ain't going to lie. I don't know what I got myself into, bro.
We here, though. So, moving the bottom side now. for the bottom. Let me hold the bottom. We looking good. I ain't going to lie. The smoke you see is coming from where the glove is at. He's going to kind of see if he can tighten that up. Double check.
[music] But now I put this valve cover back on cuz it's good. I think so. Hey, nice [ __ ] Oh, that's it for tonight.
I'm going to drop this. I'mma put this valve cover back on and I'm going call it a night, bro. Yeah, that's definitely it for tonight. Uh we have successfully completed the driver side. Everything is in spark plug wires, everything. Header, everything, the whole nine. Um everything is bolted back together. We tested it for leaks. Everything is smooth. Probably slide back in this joint tomorrow again cuz it's mad late.
I'm tired. I'm going to sleep. So yeah, that's that. And uh yeah, what's popping, man? It's currently the next day, you feel me? Um, yesterday basically got this whole driver side complete. Everything fits A1. We smoke tested it. No exhaust leaks perfectly good. But I don't know. We smoke tested it, right? And there was no smoke coming about the in between the um the header and the the head, the valve, whatever that thing is. I don't know. Um, that part, that manifold part, you feel me?
At the same time, that's just like Roman smoke, I guess you can say. There's no real exhaust pressure, you feel me? So, was that test 100% accurate? I'm not too sure, but I'll have to live with it for now. But, I mean, like I said, everything was pretty smooth, pretty straightforward for the most part. The only issue that we was running into was that back bolt closest to the firewall, for whatever reason, was not threading in properly. And still, at this point, I don't like the way it's threading in.
So, that's going to have to be addressed at some point. Um, I don't know.
Everything is okay right now. It's fastened up fine. Every other bolt is in properly, but there's something wrong with that. The threads, I guess. I don't know if it's threads or whatever. I can't really tell cuz of the angle of where that hole is at, but even like the factory bolts would not screw back in properly. And I wish I was the one that take that bolt off because then I probably would have been able to know how it felt, but I didn't take that bolt off. But it is what it is. Um, like I said, we live with it. Doing your own work, stuff going to happen. But I'll address that at some point. As long as everything is fine, no leaks, we'll be good to go. Currently, we're going to go um just start on this passenger side.
I'll probably start by taking this little cover off, untach these tubes or whatever you call these things. And um just slowly make my way down and expose the uh miniful bolts. YouTube, man. We just taking this apart. We took this uh out the way and basically pulled these coolant hose back out from the firewall under this harness cuz this harness is not going nowhere. So, I mean that's all we did so far, right?
>> Yeah.
>> And then um there's like a bracket that holds the harness these two coolant holes and kind of attaches them to the the engine block. But other than that, that's it. About to just take the We took the heat shield off of the manifold already. this nonsense or whatever. So now we're going to just crack these bolts. Manifold bolts off. And then we're going to take it out.
Let me see.
Play with that jump.
>> [laughter] >> That [ __ ] said got this manif. I'm not going to lie, that wasn't too bad. But the only thing is is why is this leaning so hard right now? All came out.
No way.
Yo, TP.
If y'all doing this, the um dipstick.
>> Yeah, the dipst stick. Um just pull it out. It looks like it just snaps at the mortar um out of the block. Um I could be wrong, but that's pretty much I mean we didn't put too much pressure on it.
There definitely was a bit of pressure on it, but not enough to where >> pulls out.
>> Yeah, it definitely just pulls out. So just pull this out. I'm assuming it clips in. You can kind of see um like my boy said to the gasket and all that. So just pull this out and then that'll make taking that manifold off 10 times easier. But I'll probably have to get a new one of these. Not. Yeah.
Passenger side going in.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Was trying to get it in without having to take this valve cover off, but it's slowly bumping only right here and right here. And I definitely believe once this comes off, well actually I don't know because the head is still going to kind of be in the way. But at least it'll give me room to flex it towards the middle of the bay and then it'll stop smacking [sighs] the frame. But I don't know. We'll see.
I don't want to take the valve cover off again on this side, but I think that would definitely give us some more clearance. So, I'm going to try one more time and then if that doesn't work, then I'm definitely going to go ahead just take this valve cover off this side again and just Yeah.
Right now, I'm just taking out the bolts to the valve cover. I know. Part of me really believes I could have got [clears throat] it in there without taking the whole valve cover off. And the other part of me is just like, bro, it's really not hard to take out. Don't fight with it. Once I pop this off, I should have more than enough clearance to just literally slide the whole header in.
So, that's where I'm at. That's what I'm doing.
gasket looks healthy.
I wonder if people normally would replace these gaskets, you know, like in a situation like this where they're just trying to throw their headers in. But it's all right. At some point, we'll get these heads done. You feel me? Get these heads ported in.
We'll replace all these gaskets and go the extra mile, but for now it should be all right.
Hurry up.
>> You can watch Chinese. Come on. Please don't do this. About to close this. No.
>> Oh, okay. I see. [laughter] >> Oh, the camera's on now.
Yo, >> I'm telling you, bro. Got the VBL juicing.
>> Let me go force it up top.
There [snorts] shouldn't be no need.
It's right here. I don't know. It's probably hitting some up top. Let me go look.
Passenger side header in.
I just got to find what I did with that gasket. should be in here. Yep.
Pop this open. Throw this in. Get my bolts and some any sees. And that should bolt right up.
YouTube are actually coming along really well. Quick little break. Quick little You hear me? Quick little H. You know what I mean?
>> Shout out to the guys for questioning me some rub.
>> You just can't shoot, bro. [laughter] Little D say when I call my brother not my brother.
>> [ __ ] talking about a whole bunch of nonsense. But anyways, so far so good.
Passenger side header is in, bolts in, gasket aligned, all that. Beautiful. Now I just got to torque it down. throw this valve cover back on. Actually, before I put the valve cover back on, I might put the spark plugs in. Anyways, we'll figure it out in a second. But yeah, that's where we're at. Hope youall enjoying the video. Make sure y'all get down in the comments below. Let me know how I living. Let me know how I'm feeling. All that. We should really be done with both passenger and driver side. Completely button up the engine bay today. That's the goal. And at least start lining up the exhaust, the Xpipe, and all the extra stuff to see kind of where the mounting points are at and how we're going to put it up. But yeah, actually I also got to put my intake back on, you feel me? Because like I said, that was something I had already put on. So I'm not going to waste y'all time and create a different video. But my in sitting up there in this box right there.
>> Boom.
YouTube. Man, that's a wrap for the night.
Okay, so what's left to do? Basically, all that's left is to get this dipstick tube back in place cuz obviously it's not where it's supposed to be. After that, literally gonna route these two coolant hose back under this harness to the firewall. Um, yeah, and then put this reservoir back. Um, and that's pretty much about it under the engine bay other than the um that cover, that valve cover cover. I don't know what it's called. And then there's another tube that wires from here to here um with two clips. But yeah, everything is smooth. I know exactly where everything is going. So far, I'm not lost. Um, the only thing I will say is, bro, I legit spent over an hour and a half, probably almost two hours on one bolt. The one of the valve cover bolts. I went to go put the last one in, dropped it down in the engine bay.
Legit couldn't get it out.
like, you know, finally I was able to get to it by going under the car and pulling the under tray, getting the bolt, literally put the under tray back on, went back to put that bolt back in the valve cover, and I dropped it again.
So, I'm not going to mess with that.
Tomorrow, I'll look for it again. Um, and if I can't find it, I'm going to just leave it and go to GM and pick up a new bolt and get that bolt in there. But yeah, other than that, motor mounts, motor mount bolt is back in. Or not bolt, but the nut is back in. Yeah, everything is pretty smooth. I mean, it's not a bad job. I'm not going to lie. It's not too hard. You feel me?
Definitely time to tuming and you run into these little weird issues. But if you have help, shout out to my boy Straight Motion. My boy Jay, he definitely clutched me cuz um I'm not going to say I wouldn't be able to do this without him, but having someone to help you, especially him, like he just he know what he doing. Um it it makes a huge difference. like I'd probably be here for way longer trying to do this on my own, you know. Um, YouTube, what's going man? I ain't going to lie.
It's been a rough rough couple of I don't know. It ain't been that bad.
Like, I've been running just the most awkward and annoying and just unnecessary issues possible. So, first I think I mentioned in the previous clip while taking the manifold off the passenger side, this popped out the engine block and um while it was out, I basically put everything back into place and I figured I would just slide this back in once everything was put together. No sir, this like there's no way to maneuver this around like the headers and whatever else that is down there to stick it in the block.
So, we spent mad long trying to do it from on the top of the car, then try to do it from under the car while it was up on the lift. It wasn't having it. And at that point, I was like, you know what? I'm just going to take everything off and redo it. So, I figured since this one's been through so much, um why not just get a new one? So, I um yesterday I ordered a brand new one um from uh GMC dealership and they delivered it the next day. So, that's currently in place where it needs to be.
So, that's a win. You feel me?
Everything is buttoned back together.
But, while I was taking the header off today, earlier today, I dropped one of the bolts in the engine bay. Found the bolt. Couldn't find the washer. let the washer be. Ran the Autozone. They closed like 10 seconds before I got to the door. Didn't have the washer. I had to come back, find the washer. It's just been a whole bunch of extra stuff. Like, you would think the hard part would be getting the headers in the car and actually, you know, doing the real work.
Nah, just a whole bunch of extra nonsense and crap I had to deal with.
But I might have torqued the headers down right now. Forgive me for my energy. I'm dumb tired. But once I do that, honestly, I just got to button everything up, put the O2 sensors in, flash my stock map, I mean, my base map that I got from the tuner, and um that's pretty much it. Everything is done other than um >> fuel.
>> The actual exhaust. You said what?
>> What about the fuel? The >> I mean, I don't have to do that right now. Like, I mean, cuz I got to get it dialed on 93 before I even do the flex fuel. Y'all, stay tuned. We actually got a DSS flexual kit like I did mention earlier in this video. And I'll probably be installing that and putting the car on in a whole different video. But I will also be putting my intake on too.
That's the last thing I'm going to do as well.
Man, oh man. Not sure how much you can see right now, but um currently I basically just wired these two cooling holes back to the firewall, placed the reservoir back in. Um, the dipstick is fine. It's where it's supposed to be, but I will say it doesn't I don't know.
I feel maybe it's just in my head, but I feel like it's there was a little bit less friction, you know, previously, but um I think it's smooth. It mounts up perfectly fine. It goes in and out. Um, and yeah, we're coming along pretty nice to be fair. So, at first I was with her because I wasn't sure where some of these bolts went. But I took a video before I left a couple nights ago and basically talk myself through where each bolt went [laughter] cuz I mean I figured it would come in handy and sure enough it did. So, I'm glad I did that cuz one thing I just don't like is the idea of like my car not being put back together completely um the way it was before, you know, from kind of my experience and the things that I've seen younger guys like myself or just I guess um people that aren't considered professionals when it comes to working on cars, like us working on cars usually like frowned upon because, you know, like we're not professionals and we break things and we don't do things the right way and yada yada yada yada. There's always a whole thing about it. But like, man, I'm enjoying this. I honestly would rather do this 10 times again than the best shop in the world offering me to do it for free. You feel me? Like, I'm getting content out of it. I'm learning and I'm just wrenching on my own car like it's 2:00 in the morning, but I'm just here, you know, in this moment, not thinking about nothing else. You feel me? Like my boy's good. He's chilling and I'm just here, you know, like there's so much going on in my life right now. I can't even lie to you.
Like, man, like just being a young black man, I don't want to say black man because we all go through it.
like grace is honestly doesn't it doesn't really make much of a difference when it comes to just growing up as a young man or woman. I don't want to discriminate because just being just just it's tough like navigating as a young individual even if you're older like navigating through life in in general can just be so tough. You feel me? Um it's like we never have the answers. Like I'm a 23-year-old dad and one thing I'm learning is that like bro, and this makes me look at my parents a lot differently too. like you never have it figured out. Like every day is kind of like a freestyle. You know, you have to learn how to adapt to different situations. You have to learn how to react and you have to learn how to just control, you know, your impulse and initial reaction to certain things like, you know, you have to really think and most of the time you like you just don't know what you're doing and you're going to get things wrong, you know. Um, and that's how it is with life. Like, you feel me? Like a lot of times we just never really know what we're doing. But that's when Christ comes in and we're able to just kind of learn from him and and seek to be like him every single day and just seek his face, you know, spending time in his word, spending time in prayer, spending time around like-minded individuals and just being a part of um you know, like-minded community when it comes to your faith, you feel me? Um fellowship and just, you know, having brothers and sisters in Christ that can just you could lean on, you know, and can hold you accountable.
But yeah, man. Life life can get real, you know. And I'll be honest, like again, I say it a lot, but like these cars don't mean nothing, you know? Like like I can't take these with me when I go, you know. I absolutely can't. And we know that. But, you know, this is one of my passions. You know, I enjoy this, you know. So, it's just like being able to just be here um and just wrench and just kind of get my mind off a lot of what I'm going through right now. You know, it's a good it's a good feeling. I can't lie. You know, I've dreamed of moments like this. You know, I've dreamed of moments where I can have a car like this sitting in the garage or wherever it's at. I'm at like like look where I'm at.
Like I'm at a shop that me and my boys got, you feel me? Like and my shout out to my boys, you feel me? Um Jay, Kelvin, like shout out to y'all boys, man. I'm proud of y'all. Y'all for what y'all doing and what y'all building, man. Like um like this is really all them. Like this is they put this lift in here. All they This is all their This is all their tools, you feel me?
um you know this is this is them like you feel me? Like they really the ones that put in the time and the the hours in here to kind of make this happen, you know, spent the money. Like they're the ones spend I mean granted like you know I bought the property but you know um like this shop wouldn't be a shop without them. This shop wouldn't be a spot where we can just come vibe and do things like this if it wasn't for them.
Shout out to them. But yeah, like I've dreamed of moments like this. We've dreamed of moments like this. You feel me? Cover's car behind mine getting worked on. like we've dreamed of moments like this. Jay's car is outside saying he just changes spark plugs and went to go data log man. Like it's just a blessing, you feel me? Um and I don't want to take it for granted, you know?
But um I'm kind of just talking my head off, you feel me? Um it is what it is at this point. Um but yeah, let me just continue to keep doing what I'm doing. I want to get this car fully buttoned up um before I leave out here tonight. And um yeah.
Cool.
Everything's buttoned up for the most part up in the engine bay. Now, all that is left is to throw the intake on and um pretty much just clean everything up.
intake, uh, coolant, put motor in, put oil in the motor, and, uh, the O2 sensors got to be plugged up. And I mean, right now, it's opened up, literally just right off the headers. But other than that, everything is pretty much up. Um, everything is pretty good and smooth to go. Have not installed the flex flex fuel kit yet, but that'll probably honestly be for another video. Y'all going to have to wait on that cuz I mean either way I got to get this tune dialed in on 93 first before I can actually trans transition over to E.
And ta here goes my intake. I'm not leaking my address, am I? No. Roto Fab Big intake. Yeah. So, um, this is going on.
Definitely going to give this thing a way better look. It's going to look all nice and clean and awesome.
So, yeah. Time for this intake. The guys just pulled up. Check it.
>> The bush. You ready?
>> All right. Go ahead. Go ahead.
>> Go ahead.
>> Oh, extreme madness is down.
>> Hit the brake. Hit the brake. HIT THE BRAKE. HIT THE BRAKE.
>> That [ __ ] just crushed his lip.
Oh yeah. Yeah. Let's push it in.
>> You just crushed that lip. They already they already breasted up on the track for >> real.
Push it back real quick, bro.
>> No. But yeah, my bad. I didn't even put the camera up today.
>> You feel me? I was too excited >> to get this joint. I didn't even put the camera up, but >> the guys pulled up so I had to. You feel me?
>> Get this footage in. But yeah, man. So >> we almost done, bro.
I just got to get these O2 sensors off.
And I wish I would have took them off before I took the car took the caps off the car cuz now I got to sit here and wrestle with it with no leverage. But I got to take these off. These are the um sensors from the secondary cats. So I got to take these off. You said what?
>> I'm trying. I can't. I'm about to buy new ones.
>> I'm going to bust it off real quick.
>> All right. Bet. Get these O2s in real quick.
>> We should be able to start it up tonight. Aluminum.
>> What?
>> Aluminum monkey.
>> You going to get these on? Flashes, Matt.
>> Oh, look. Car cover brakes, too.
>> Yo, peep real quick. Right.
>> Uh, what I do with that flashlight?
Either way, look, >> that was for the primary, right?
I mean, all the connectors are different. Now, this now primary is >> cuz look, that's secondary.
>> I think this is the primary.
>> So, >> wait, this is secondary.
>> Now, this this is a >> Oh, this for primary. Yeah.
>> Yeah. So, and then so do I got to plug the secondary here and just hide it and zip tie it?
>> What you mean plug it there? No, you leave it open. So, I don't I don't plug this up. No.
>> All right. And they'll tune this out.
>> Yeah. All right. Bet.
>> Cool. Cool. What up, Dave?
>> Not much.
>> All right, Dave. See you tomorrow, man.
You going to let him CP here?
>> Be all right.
>> He trying to say you're not a wrencher, bro.
>> OG. Not sure.
>> Yeah, I know. You were here about they don't know about my resume, bro.
>> What's on your resume?
>> Feel me? This is legit.
>> Changing brakes out the womb. Dirt on my man. This a big storm in the man.
Yeah, these low key strip on the low.
They ain't like terrible.
Like if they got to come off, I be But these things don't got don't got to be OC tight though, do they?
>> Yeah, I don't got to be OC. I don't think so.
>> This a O2 sensor like ain't holding nothing.
>> All right, YouTube. So everything is smooth under the car. I just cleaned this bucket out. Make sure it's A1. And we're basically about to get some coolant in the car real quick. So I got some distilled water and some concentrate.
Yeah, concentrate. Concentrate.
Whatever. Dex Cool Coolant for some for GM. Whatever. Yeah, you know what this is. It's just coolant. YouTube. Yep. So, turns out I have a coolant leak somewhere. I just don't know where it's at. Not going to lie. So, we'll figure that out tomorrow cuz that's know that tonight's a problem. It's already past midnight and there's no need for me to be here all night cuz this thing ain't going nowhere. So, yeah.
Pray for me.
All right, YouTube. We all good. Shout out to my guy. He figured it out.
[music] So, basically, I just had the wrong fitting on. Sorry for the noise. The compressor's on right now, but I'm about to get this uh [music] this coolant and this water mixture real quick in this bucket.
Water's in there.
Basically, just took a gallon of distilled water and a gallon of this coolant.
And whatever I don't use, I'll just I guess pour [music] in that in that in that jug. I don't know. Or pour back in this.
[music] Don't really matter.
That's going up.
Yes, sir.
Ready?
[laughter] this. Try again.
Damn.
>> Connected.
>> Now it's connected.
It should be good, right?
Oh [ __ ] >> WHAT the [ __ ] [screaming] Not going nowhere.
Oh my god. Heat.
Heat.
I don't know why they have to touch the CCM. All right, bet you two. So, we just went through a whole bunch of extra crap. We couldn't flash the car cuz for whatever reason it was saying I didn't have the license. I don't know why, but I bought the eight credits I needed to flash the ECM and the TCM, but apparently I also need to flash the CCM.
The Twitter did mention I might have to do it, but I don't know. I didn't think I needed to buy the extra credits for the um CCM as well. So that's another 150 cash I just had to swipe for no reason. That's so wild, bro. Like you think you know what you going to spend and like you just start spending miscellaneous cash like you feel me? So >> like bro whatever. So I mean I don't know. I want to give you like one more startup with some kind of not crazy sound clips but a little something bro.
I don't want to end the video off without y'all being able to hear it. But remember it's open dump right now. I haven't even touched the exhaust. So, I'll probably not even probably, but I'll definitely end up doing a whole another video for that cuz this video has been crazy long. And um yeah, I just kind of want to edit this and get it out. But everything is so smooth so far, bro. I hope everything is good. I mean, I don't know. Like, only one way to find out.
I don't know, bro.
I ain't did nothing but no bolt on, bro.
But it's just like I'm still nervous right now. But yeah, we gonna finish flashing this map. Um, and then we'll let y'all know what's up.
Yeah, we ain't logging the night, but the fuel pump drive. Nice.
Start earlier.
>> No, but I was hearing stuff though.
Hold up. Hold up. Hold up. Hold up.
That's what I was doing earlier.
My god.
Why my tracks on it?
[ __ ] That sound insane, YouTube. Man, I ain't going to lie.
That's it for this video, bro. Hope y'all enjoyed. CTSV is running. It's currently opened up. Haven't cut the exhaust yet. All the pipes are in there.
It's a mess in here. We got to clean this one up. But yeah, but it's it's so loud. I didn't know y'all could hear me, bro.
But nonetheless, make sure y'all like, share, subscribe. Get down in the comment section. Let me know how y'all living, how y'all feeling, how y'all life been, and show some love, man. I'll catch you boys in the next one. We going to get some data logging in. I'mma do my Xpipe and all that in a separate video.
Um, yeah, man. Love. Hey yo, rev it just a little bit.
[screaming] >> [singing]
