The video offers a profound reinterpretation of mortality, skillfully shifting the narrative from existential dread to a serene, cyclical transition. It honors Simberg’s vision by presenting death as a gentle gardener rather than a terrifying end.

This Painting Makes Death Look Peaceful… 😨Ajouté :
Can you see the contrast in this painting?
Here, the skeletons are the gardeners.
They hold the flowers carefully, [music] trying to preserve them in the hope that they will bloom again.
Each plant represents a human soul.
There is no sky, no threat, no fear.
Here, death does not destroy, it cares.
Hugo Simberg painted this work at the age of 26 while suffering from a serious illness.
By then, he no longer saw death as an enemy, but as an inevitable and watchful companion on the human journey.
Notice the scythe, a symbol usually associated with fear and destruction.
Yet here it feels strangely calm, almost gentle.
That is why death is portrayed so peacefully in this painting, because dying is not shown as an ending, but as a passage, as if the souls of the dead are being gently replanted into another world.
The Garden of Death, 1896, by Hugo Simberg.
