The Kudo is an overdrive [music] pedal optimized for stacking with other pedals or pushing your amp. Next to your level, drive, and [music] bite knob, you also get a toggle switch allowing you to choose between hard, soft, and extra soft clipping.

[00:01:50]>> [music] >> This is my Les Paul Standard 50s into the Two-Rock Bloomfield Drive on a nice edge of breakup. The Kudo is designed to really push your amp or push another overdrive pedal, and let's go and push the Two-Rock here.

[00:02:14]>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Which the Kudo does beautiful. So, without changing any knobs, let's explore the different clipping options.

[00:02:51]I went from hard to soft clipping now.

[00:02:56]>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> So, I find the soft clipping to have to compress more, a different mid-range, and the soft plus >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> So, the soft plus has the most amount of gain, I would say. Also, a bit more travel or different overtones in general. Three different feelings there on the Kudo that you can really tweak to your rig, to your liking. If you are pushing another pedal, you know, you can find the perfect combination there. I'm really enjoying it, so let's go for max gain first.

[00:04:36]Right away, I notice a bit more travel there as well.

[00:05:17]>> [music] >> Again, different mid-range, more compression, and soft plus.

[00:05:35]>> [music] [music] >> Beautiful, I find. Um, let's go for 12:00 again, and let's explore the bite knob.

[00:05:54]>> [music] >> So, let's give it more bite then.

[00:05:58]>> [music] [music] >> And full on the bite knob.

[00:06:14]>> [music] >> So, it doesn't get harsh, you know, you get more overtones, beautiful. And let's go for the opposite and for smoother sounds.

[00:06:29]>> [music] [music] >> You don't You do not lose the front end of the notes, so it's still very easy to play, although it gets smoother.

[00:06:43]>> [music] [music] >> It's the same thing with the soft plus, for instance.

[00:07:03]>> [music] >> It's very dynamic, you can tell I can play, you know, softly or dig in.

[00:07:18]>> [music] [music] [music] >> A lot of options there. Let's go for even less gain. Let's give it a bit more bite and soft clipping.

[00:07:45]>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> A lot of options. I could be playing with this for hours. A lot of different feels under the fingers. If you want to, a huge gain range, you can really push your amp, you can push another pedal, find a combination that works with your rig, your preference, your style.
