[00:00:08]It deals in causes. On January 26th, 2024, the International Court of Justice, the highest judicial body of the United Nations, issued an emergency ruling. South Africa had brought a case against Israel under the Genocide Convention. The court ruled that there was a plausible risk of genocide being committed in Gaza. Not a verdict, a threshold finding. But plausible, in the language of international law, is not a casual word. It means the court examined the evidence and determined it could not be dismissed.
