Shamoun employs a clever syllogism to project Christ’s divine titles onto Mary, turning a semantic bridge into a theological defense. It is a masterclass in apologetic deduction that prioritizes logical consistency over strict scriptural literalism.

Is Prayer to Mary Unbiblical? Protestants Need to Answer This | Sam Shamoun Answers
Added:Salve Regina or let's look it up.
So I wanted to address that. Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, our hope. Now, believe it or not, I didn't know this sentence was in there.
If you want to see how God miraculously confirms, I did not know there's a reference to Eve.
Believe it or not, the Lord is my witness, I did not know this prayer from memory.
I did not know there's a reference to Eve because if you go back, you know how I explained Mary being our life? I would swear to you, the Lord will hold me accountable, I said, "Hold on, is Mary is Eve called the mother of all living?
So is our life from Eve?"
Yes, and I had no idea Eve is mentioned.
Children of Eve is mentioned.
I go, "So how much more the Holy Mother when she contained in her womb eternal life, the word of life, life itself, Jesus Christ? Isn't she truly the mother of eternal life? The mother of the word of life, the mother of life?
Cuz she's the mother of the true God, eternal life. Didn't life come from her?
Yes. So how much more is she the mother of all living and our life is from her cuz life came through her and became flesh." And I explained it here too, right? A few sessions ago, see?
And I had no idea Eve is mentioned. See, now it makes sense.
She is the contrast to Eve. And then what they don't tell you that the prayer is asking Mary to bring us to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Make Jesus known to us.
See, it's again, it's Christo-centric.
All right, so let me now break this down.
Our life, our sweetness, our hope.
Blasphemy? No, it's biblical. So now let's go into it. All right, let now let's let's explain it biblically. I didn't even know this, man.
And they don't need See, I had I had known the entire prayer. I didn't. I swear I don't. I'm learning.
And even here, it's Christocentric. It's about Christ.
We're hoping that you'll pray for us, and as a loving mother, shield us, and then show us the fruit of your womb, the Lord Jesus.
Now, bibl- I'm giving you Bible, right?
Our life. Okay, let's see.
Step by step. Our life. Now, the man called his wife's name Eve. The word Eve in Hebrew, Chawwah or Chava, comes from the word life.
Why did he call her life? Cuz she was the mother of all the living. Mother of all living. All right.
If Eve, who obeyed the serpent, ate the forbidden tree, and birthed death, can be called the mother of all the living, which means if you are living, she's your mother, your life is from her, you're telling me that Mary, who gave flesh to eternal life, to life itself, to the word of life, he who is life, is less worthy of that title and honor?
Here. Cuz who was Jesus? Watch. I'm going to give you scripture. John 1:4.
In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the word became flesh.
Wait. So, the life that enlightens all men and gives life to all creation became flesh. Flesh from whom? And the word became flesh and dwelt among us.
We beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Okay. Jesus said to her, John 11:25, "I am the resurrection life." So, wait. If Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and he became flesh from the holy virgin, he became in flesh from her flesh, then that means Mary is the mother of the resurrection and the life.
What are you not seeing?
He who believes in me will live even if he dies. Let's continue. John 14:6, Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and life.
No one comes to the Father but through me." All right.
If Jesus is the way, the truth and life, he is the truth and the life.
You mean to tell me Mary's not the mother of the truth, the mother of life, the mother of the way? Acts 3:15, "But put to death the author of life."
Here's the God-man, God in flesh, cuz as God, he cannot die, but as man he died, so the God-man died. The author of life died a human death in the flesh.
"But put to death the author of life, whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses." So, wait.
If our Lord is the author of life, the resurrection and the life, he is the truth, then Mary is the mother of the author of life because he took the flesh that he died in from her.
He would not have died in the flesh, he would not have died a human death, had he not been born of her and taken flesh from her so he could die a human death. Because how did he die?
Well, he died in the flesh. He died as a man. The flesh and humanity took from his holy mother? Yeah. Oh, so she's the mother of the author of life, the mother of the eternal life, the mother of the resurrection life, the mother the truth. Wait, we're going to have some fun. 1 John 1:1-3, now pay attention to who Jesus is.
"What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have beheld and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life." So, Jesus is the word of life, meaning he reveals what life is.
Notice he's three things here, and I'm going to break them down for you. Word of life means the one who reveals life.
He tells you what life is, but then he's also life itself.
The life was manifest, and now watch what John says.
The word of life, the life was manifested.
What life? What word of life? That which we saw with our physical eyes, visibly.
That which we touched with our physical hands.
Also, life became flesh. Life became a man. The word of life became human, and he could be physically touched and physically seen. Yep.
And we have seen and bear witness proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us. Now, notice John said, Christ is the word of life, life, and eternal life that we saw with our physical eyes, and we touched physically with our hands.
So, eternal life became flesh, became human.
The word of life, life, the resurrection, the truth became flesh, became human. So, that means Mary is the mother of the word of life.
Because John would not have seen him physically or touched him physically if Jesus hadn't become a physical flesh and blood human from Mary.
Where did he get that physical body that John touched and saw? From Mary.
So, Mary is the mother of the word of life. She is the mother of life. She's the mother of eternal life.
Now, do you understand the evidence? So, what does that mean?
The holy mother is the mother of the true God and eternal life. So, Mary is the mother of the true God. The mother of Emmanuel, God with us. The mother of eternal life.
The mother of the resurrection. The mother of life, the mother of the truth.
But now, let me explain the three titles. So, did you now see John called Jesus the true God eternal life? You see the evidence for it?
You can't have a creature being the eternal life if the true God is eternal life.
Our life contrasted with Eve.
If If Eve is the mother of all living, and our life is from her, how the hell do you even have a problem with saying the holy mother is our life, seeing that she's the mother of the true God, she's the mother of eternal life, she's the mother of the word of life, she's the mother of life, she's the mother of the author of life, she's the mother of the resurrection, she's the mother of the truth, and life came from her because she gave him the flesh, the human nature, the physical body that he used to redeem you by his death on the cross.
You have a problem with calling her our life?
What about our hope?
First Timothy 1:1.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, according to the commandment of God our savior, and of Christ Jesus our hope.
Wait.
If Jesus is our hope, that means Mary is the mother of our hope, right?
If Jesus is our hope, does that mean Mary is [clears throat] the mother of our hope?
So, our hope comes from her. Where's the problem?
Our sweetness, right? Psalm 34:8 and 1 Peter 2:1-3.
This Psalm is applied to Jesus by Peter.
Oh, taste and see that Yahweh is good.
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
1 Peter 2:1-3.
Therefore, laying aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord. So, wait.
The Lord is our sweetness?
Because when you taste him, you see how sweet and good he is?
So, does that mean Mary is the mother of our sweetness?
And the mother of our hope?
She's the mother of our sweetness and the mother of our hope?
Psalm 119:103. Watch here.
Longest psalm.
How sweet is your word to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth.
How sweet is your word to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth. Okay, Psalm 103, right? All right.
But is Jesus the word who became flesh?
In the beginning was the word, the word was with God, the word was God.
So, if the words of God, his instructions, are sweeter than honey, how much more sweeter is Jesus when he's the eternal uncreated word? So, if Jesus, being the eternal word, right?
Uncreated word, makes him all the more sweeter than the words of God, meaning his instructions, that would make him sweeter than honey.
Is Mary the mother of the word? Yeah.
Oh, no wonder she's our life, our sweetness, and our mercy.
So far it seems like it's biblical.
Okay, hold on. Now it says our mercy, right? For we ourselves, Titus 3:3 to 7.
Titus Titus 3:3 to 7.
For we ourselves also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived. Oh, and by the way, let me give you another one.
Titus 3:3 to 7.
For we ourselves also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, despicable, hating one another. But when the kindness and affection of God our Savior appeared, he saved us not by works which we did in righteousness.
Now, notice why he saved us and how.
But according to his mercy, he saved us according to mercy. How?
Through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit. But who gave you the Holy Spirit to wash you, regenerate you, renew you?
God did.
On the merits of Jesus Christ.
Jesus earned and merited all these graces that are yours when you turn to him. So he merited the gift of the Spirit which is yours in Christ Jesus.
Okay? Whom he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by his grace, we would become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Oh, so it is by the grace of our Lord Jesus, the mercy of God, we are saved.
John 1:14.
And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. So, let me ask you something.
If Jesus is the epitome of grace and truth, he possesses favor and truth in its infinitude, cuz he's the source of grace and truth with the Father and the Spirit, meaning Father, Son, and Spirit as the one God, they are the source of favor and truth.
So, when he became flesh and entered Mary's womb, doesn't that mean that Mary was now full of grace and truth? Because the one who's full of grace and truth lived in her womb, took flesh from her flesh.
All right, hold on, but still, John 1:17.
For the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. If grace and truth are from the Lord Jesus, and he revealed that grace and truth when he's in the flesh, you're telling me Mary is not the mother of grace and truth and mercy, and that Mary's body was not full of grace and truth?
So, can you please show me why this prayer is unbiblical and idolatrous?
Our life.
Well, Jesus came from her womb. She's the mother of life.
Resurrection and life, eternal life, the mother of the author of life, the mother of true God, our sweetness, our hope. She's the mother of the word who's sweeter than honey.
So, she's the mother of sweetness.
Jesus, our hope, she's the mother of our hope. She's the mother of he who's full of grace and truth. So, grace and truth came from her cuz the source of grace and truth became flesh from her.
Where is the problem, man?
