The BitForge Nano is a commendable exercise in open-source hardware transparency, though it serves more as a pedagogical tool for decentralization than a viable instrument for profit. It elegantly bridges the gap between DIY maker culture and the complexities of cryptographic infrastructure.

BitForge Nano Unboxing + Giveaway追加:
Hey guys, one clue here. I hope all of you are doing really well and having a fantastic day.
We got something that we need to unbox and maybe you want to stay curious and watch this video till the end because we need to do a giveaway. Let's get started.
All right, as you can see, we do have the Bit Forge. The Bit Forge Nano is a collaborative work between a very good friend of mine or two good friends of mine and myself. It's uh developed by Cleo 90 me one clue and the heat sink and casing is designed by the solar mining co or Duncan or IMGO however you want to call him. And this is produced by DTV Electronics. And we have the full package. That is how the Bitforge looks if you do purchase the bit the Bit Forge Nano from the store. And we want to unpack it. Check out what is inside. I want to give you a couple hints and tricks that you might want to need or that you want to take a look on and then maybe we do a giveaway. I think we need to do that.
Let's swap over and let's unbox this puppy. So, here we go. There's the packaging. Uh on the side, we just see the logo of DTV Electronics. We see the Bitforge.info page. We see my logo here on this side. Obviously, the Bit Forge Nano is an open-source product. So, basically, every manufacturer could produce that if they want to. But this here, the Bit Forge Nano, is a very special collaborative work, I'd say, between a couple good friends of mine because we had a mission. This project, Bitfor Nano, started like over a year ago, and we developed it over a really long course, probably even too long. It should have been released half a year ago, but we had some issues and personal things. And as always with things that you just develop when you do have time, it takes a little bit of time for them.
So, let's quickly open that up.
And here we go. The standard edition is the Bit Forge Nano in its 3D printed enclosure. And it is out of a material that is heat resistant. So, that is really good out of the way. There is also a new version, the ghost edition that you can receive if you're hopping over to the shop of uh the Solar Mining Co. But today we want to like take a look on the Bit Forge Nano. So, we put it to the side. This is the top packaging. We do get a small instruction page with lots of different languages and instructions on how to use it. And on the bottom, we do get the power supply. One thing that you need to keep in mind here is this is more or less universal, this power supply, but it doesn't come with a C3 cable. These cables are usually pretty normal, I'd say, in a household.
So, that's the reason why we decided to not go with putting it in the box, because plenty of you people will have one or two laying around. And if not, they don't cost that much. But this is the power supply. It is capable of up to 96 W. So plenty of room. The Bit Forge Nano does have three different power modes. You can overclock it. It's the same mechanism as with the Bit X. So you just put in the question mark OC in the URL if you're on the settings page. But you cannot reach these numbers. You cannot reach 96 watts with this device for numerous reasons. But the highest mode or the highest overclocking that I achieved was more or less three terraash which is pretty good I'd say for this small device.
So now let's take a look on what what is in here. Obviously we have a giant heat sink in there. If you just juggle it around we here. There's nothing loose.
That is pretty good. That is also I'd say one thing that you should do if you receive any sort of product. um like if something is clickering or juggling around on the inside, that's probably not a good idea. But for the Bit Forge, uh yeah, we do have two big fans. There is no display or anything else. We decided to keep it as stealthy as possible. And uh you only have here a power plug input. On the bottom, we see there are four screws. So, if you want, you can just open it up and uh you can flash different firmwares if you want to, but everything else is in the device or on the device and super super easy.
So, let's quickly take over my phone and um I think we just will set it up in a second. So, here we go. I just plugged in the Beatfor Nano. It is coming online. As soon as you have set up everything correctly, the device will blink on the inside every time it does find a share. So now let's quickly take a look on my phone. We do see here is the bit forge nano and let's quickly connect over to that. It takes a time a couple of seconds but we do see the captive bottle is coming up also there.
It does take a little bit of time this is usual but there are some new features coming with the next release the version 1.2. 2 that will be out very soon hopefully and uh then things are a little bit more easy. As you see, it took a couple of seconds for the device to fully come online. We just do a quick scan for Wi-Fi networks.
I do see my network there. Let me quickly put in the Wi-Fi password. One second. And here we go. We click on save. That should be it. You must restart the device. Yes, of course, we need to do that. So let's quickly go up here, click on restart, and now the device should restart with the new settings.
Here we go. We see that we have been disconnected.
Now, some of you people might be wondering like, hey, one clue, that's that's cool that it is stealthy, but how am I supposed to see the Wi-Fi IP address of it? Well, here you go. The idea that we had is you connect it to your Wi-Fi and afterwards it will still have this captive portal open for you for 15 minutes after it booted up and it tells you the IP address. It's 164 at the end for me in my local network. So all I need to do now is I need to come out here and use my own Wi-Fi network.
Okay, I'm connected to my Wi-Fi. Let me quickly open up my browser. It takes a couple of seconds as usual if I'm not mistaken. I have the 10.010.164.
That is just for me. I mean it could look different for you guys. So that is depending on what kind of network you guys do have. Here we go. Now we are on the on the page and we do see it is booting up immediately in the media mode. So it's not overclocked out of the box. There is a default address and pool in here. This is been done because the manufacturer needs to test the device and afterwards he's just resetting it and sending it out. That is totally normal. So, I really recommend to you guys to just come over to the pool settings here and uh just change the pool and the bitcoin address or whatever you want to use there because in there is just a testing bitcoin address and you should actually change that. But what what is about to say about this device? Well, I think for the unboxing that is actually it. What I like to do instead of using the web interface is using the app hashlink. It's a brand new app developed by me. Um, and we can easily add in a device. If I put in the IP address of it, I can just add the device to it.
It should detect it in a second. It said they're bit eggs, but it is a bit forge.
You need to update your Bit Forge to the latest version that is currently out there, which is the version 1.1. And probably this weekend, there will be the version 1.2 out there as well. But you can control your device over this app.
And you can do the same for all other devices. And I really like to do that because I do have another Bit Forge.
This one right here, which is currently running. And uh this is running my current beta version of the next release. So I can do whatever I want with it, which is super cool, especially toggling the performance modes. And that is just so easy to do. Well, here we go.
This is the Bit Forge Nano. We quickly unboxed it. Maybe you guys want to see a video where we do take a look on on everything on it in detail. I already did a couple of videos about the heat sink, the process of how came everything to life and why we decided to produce this minor. And if you now want to get one of these devices or if you want to win one, what you need to do is you need to subscribe to this channel and you need to comment down below #bitforge.
If you do that, you might be the lucky winner. So, I think for an unboxing and quickly showing off how it looks from the actual factory packaging to you, that is it for today's video and we will see us again in the next one. So, stay tuned and don't miss out on any further open-source things. Peace out.
