VAICOM Testing and Development - Jester 2.0 Progress UpdateAjouté :
[music] [music] Okay, welcome back to another test and development video for Viacom. Uh, looking at progress update really for how we're getting with along with the F4E Jester 2.0 implementation. Um, I guess the best way to show is we'll just go for a bit of a flight um, and have a look at how it's running. So, we're sitting in the jet here. We just need to get the ground power on, start up, and uh taxi out.
We're set up um with 12 Mark 82 Snake Eyes that we're just going to go and drop on um couple of targets over at Rotor.
Uh let's get going. Um IC Hot Mic uh is working. We had some issues with putting it um together with TX link. Um, I think I've resolved it now, but I'm sure um, Jagger tester will um, break it for me.
But anyway, we'll see how it goes.
Ground power connect.
Okay. Okay, what alignment?
>> Start stored alignment.
>> Okay, starting stored heading alignment.
>> Ground air connect right.
>> Roger.
>> So you can see um you can seamlessly talk between >> and connected on the right >> ground and um boots in the back there.
>> Ground remove the ladder.
Roger.
>> Done.
>> And we get a start clearance.
Anderson request startup.
Chevy 2 cleared for startup. Wind 080 at 5 m/s.
Ground air on and done.
Um, yeah, the more I use this IC hot mic business, the more I like it. It's um yeah, really good. Just seamless back and forth um during this startup routine with ground and then once you get flying, you'll have a look. Um it's pretty seamless with um boots in the back.
Round air off.
Good.
Ground air connect left.
>> Roger.
>> Yes, sir. Connected on the left.
>> Ground air on.
>> Yeah. Uh, done.
So, also had a few issues with um alignment. Um but we'll see how it goes.
It could be just me um user error, but um hence the testing.
Ground air off.
>> Done.
>> Ground air.
>> You're done with the generators. I can start the alignment.
>> Roger.
>> Yes. Start the alignment.
>> Roger.
So this is the one I'm not sure about this.
>> Air is disconnected.
>> You can see the contextual me fading out, but then I get a response that says he hasn't started.
>> Okay, just let me know.
>> Yeah. So that's the bit I don't think working. So what we need to do is um get him to continue the alignment now. So boot start alignment now.
>> Roger that.
which would have been the command you would have given him if you told him to hold off. Um anyway, we'll work on that.
Hopefully get that fixed.
Um so he should be doing the alignment now. Um started radiator's been disconnected and it's time to get our stuff set up.
and setting up for a direct attack. Um, low level running 6 here.
Drop 12 in one pass.
Make it really spectacular.
Okay.
Ground power disconnect.
Roger.
External power disconnected.
Brown pedo check.
>> Roger.
>> Pedo looks good.
>> Brown flight control check.
>> Yeah, ready.
Stab up.
Stabilizer down.
Roll left.
Roll right.
Rudder left.
Rudder right. Looks good.
Round trim check.
Ailerons and rudder neutral.
Speed brakes out.
Speed brakes are in.
Slats out, sir.
Flaps down.
Slats in.
Flaps up.
Door open.
Door closed.
Okay, so we're pretty much right to go.
Just need to do the bombing computer.
Bombing computer.
All right. So, it's the one we got direct. It's 500 ft, I think. Yeah.
It's all right. There we go.
Welcome.
All right. So, we should be all set up for that now. Um, while we're waiting for it online, openboard all working well. Um, the messages that we have been giving him appearing here. Um, if I go to Tower Page, tower page.
Um, yeah, I've got it at the moment. You can't use the hot mic for that. You got to press the uh inner phone.
Um you can see you've got our startup stuff here. Um the weather output is working well which we can change between uh US format or IKO um either here. So we can have a look at rotor as well. The weather is looking good. Um, and we've got the ability to write on the notes tab as well. So, I'm pretty happy with this now. I think it's done.
Um, one of the cool things that we've added is in the Awax page here. So, if I Awax page, um, we've got an Awax up which is Overlord. Um, it's need to um, this data link threats now. So it will display um basically what's around from a air threat potential. So EWRs um couple two ships of F-15s um frigot type previous transport docks things like that um will basically radar contacts will appear on here. Um the good thing is it won't have client or playoff so you can't cheat.
Um so that's going well.
Hopefully this alignment ends soon cuz it's taking forever.
>> Alignment completed. Go. Primary sync now. Ready to taxi.
>> All right. Primary sync and we're ready to taxi.
Anderson request taxi to runway.
I've got a feeling there's another aircraft taxing. Yeah, a B1 is taxing.
So, we're not going to get a taxi clearance, but we're going anyway.
Ground shocks remove.
Roger.
And the wheel chocks are out.
>> Okay, sir. You're all set. Have a safe flight. Disconnecting.
>> Okay, now we can go.
>> Hell yeah. Let's do it.
>> All right, By, let's do it.
Um, the other commands we have going are these contextual ones for how low.
>> All right, tell me just how low are we going today?
>> Going below 100 ft.
Roger.
>> Um, so that's good. So you it always isn't an inappropriate time that call when you're going around a corner or something. So you can just Um, the other good thing is these contextual menu ones, you can still pull the command.
Um, so if I wanted to change that from 100 ft, I could change it just by issuing the command again.
Boots going below 50 ft. So I do that.
Um, so you can change that on the fly, which is good. Um, and as you probably noticed, we've done the whole startup um, taxi without opening the jester UI.
Um, the aim of the game is to be able to fly the entire mission without opening it. Um, the bombing computer you're going to need to open um, to enter data.
Um, there's nothing you can really do about that.
Um, but it's, yeah, working pretty well.
Uh so we'll get airborne um start tracking out towards rotor where the target is and um on the way there we'll have a look at some of the um interaction with boots um things that are available um radar handling um counter measures uh things like that. Um, it's pretty seamless now. Um, and as you can see, it's getting pretty polished. Lisy's put a ton of work into getting these final um, alignment and um, contextual menu menu handling sorted. Um, and I think that makes a real difference just in we've moved completely away from having to use buttons or keystrokes and um, we've got full UI free interaction.
Canopy down and locked. Lights out and uh stripes aligned.
Okay, we're to go.
Interesting off the right runway here. and um follow that B2 out to the left or B1 I should say.
>> Chevy 2, unable to clear for takeoff.
>> Addison, ready for departure.
>> Chevy 2, you are cleared for takeoff and ready. Climb 30 at QS 29 decimal 44.
Engine's good. Air speed off the peg. 80 knots.
101 1023.
Ah, I'm just kidding.
Gears moving.
Gear up.
Flaps up. We've got a friendly V1. 10:00 6 miles. Got a new bogey. Left 55. 26 mi. 1,200.
It's a friend. IFF checks out.
Okay. Um, so now we're up and going.
1500 ft. Make our way across to our target. Have a look at some of the radar commands. Um, if we have a look at the kneeboard here. Um, I'll just get into the right context on the kneeboard and trim the aircraft out. [snorts] boots autofocus on.
>> All right, man.
I've got new bogeies. Just going to do a quick IFFF now.
>> Okay, so we got um bunch of radar.
You've got a bogey bra left 5° 44 m 28,000 and a friendly bra left 30 m angel six.
Right, that'll be our um just while we do this. Let's um auto pilot on.
Okay.
Um yes, we got our radar commands here.
So we can um change um any of the scan modes, um turn the radar on and off, um unlock, do a whole bunch of stuff. So it's pretty handy. If I do um boots radar scan 25 wide >> welcome you see he's um selected 25 mile scan there um and wide boots radar scan 50 wide.
>> You got it.
>> And back we go. Um one of the other ones that's pretty handy is sight. Um, so boots enter war site.
>> Copy that.
>> So if we're um air to airing at the moment, we could um just place that and get a lock within 10 miles. Um you've also got your normal bite commands that you would make use in keybinds.
Boots beside forward.
>> Roger.
Um, and then boots back to search, >> back to standard scan pattern.
>> Um, so radar management's easy. That's all working well. Um, we also have our counter managers, so I can hand them over to Boots.
Boots, counter measures are yours.
>> Copy.
>> Um, yeah. So, there's a bit of an update. That's how it's progressing. Um, starting to feel pretty good now. Um, couple of minor issues. Um, >> heads up, nails 6:00 and oh, nails 6:00.
>> Uh, a couple of minor issues. Um, I'm just managing with TX link at the moment. Um, but apart from that, we're getting pretty close. So, hopefully won't be too long. Just put some polish on it. Um, I've still got to do the keywords entry into the manual, which is a complete pain in the neck, but um, has to be done. Uh, and then we'll be right.
Anyway, thanks for watching. Catch you next time.
