A good surgeon isn’t just thinking about the procedure.Added:
When you're listening to the patient in your first meeting them, like I'll always ask what do they do if they have a job. They think I'm asking these crazy questions and there's usually a point to it because I'm looking for how heavy are they? An Amazon person? Are they lifting a waitress? I need to know what's going on so in the post-op period I can guide them. They're like, "Oh, I work on the computer." Then I have more latitude cuz they're at home. If they're like, "I'm lifting, you know, 30-lb boxes." We're having a different story.
