Project Purple Third Launch INSTALLED + Shoreline Pier | Six Flags Great Adventure Update 5/20/26Hinzugefügt:
Hey guys, this is Con from Kal Studios here. As you can see right now, we are following this truck and that is because we are back here at Six Flags Great Adventure for yet another construction update. This time there will actually be some significant Project Purple progress as that uh truck right there is holding launch pieces allegedly for Project Purple. They are going vertical on the third launch today. It's going to be a very exciting moment in the construction of the coaster. right now. It's been on a bit of a pause for a little while, but they are starting to resume and soon we'll see that big tower start going vertical. But that all starts with the arrival of this track and everything that's already on site right now. All right, we've made it into the parking lot. You can see launch three. It's It's already there. That was quick. Um I don't believe there's any more. Oh, no, there is more launch track actually. You can see at least one No, two sections.
So, one is a full launch. The other has a little bit of LSM fins on it and those are those two are staged. So you can see that those are going to be going in next. They already obviously have all the supports ready to go for that. Um yeah, this is exciting stuff. And as you guys saw, there is another truck coming in. You can also see there is more track back there that we haven't seen yet.
Some more straight sections. So that's going to be for the rise up into the tower more than likely. It's going to kind of straighten out and then, you know, do its thing with all that other track that we've seen. But this is really, really exciting stuff right here. Look at that really nice launch track. You can see obviously it's very much so a valley, right? And it actually tightens out a lot more than I would have expected. So you come out of the stall, right? And it's relatively flat and then you hit this and you start rising up very quickly as you ascend into the tower there. So this is going to be a very, very exciting part of the ride. Obviously going to be gaining speed. It's going to be the moment where you hit your max speed on the ride, more than likely, whatever that winds up being, judging off the fact that this ride's going to be tall. It's going to be pretty fast. If I had to guess, it's going to be at least 90 mph. Who knows exactly what, but I think at least 90 is a pretty safe guess. Um, you can also see right there those two pieces of supports that are very near each other.
That's where that kind of spacer piece is. You can see the way that is set up.
There's another one of those further down on the layout back over there, which we saw much earlier on in the construction progress right after the first launch. So, they have another one of those as you enter the third launch right here. So, I pointed out those two pieces of launch track. I didn't even see all of these. There's a ton of launch track that's going to be rising.
And you can see they're getting ready to ride bring this one into place here. So, judging off all these pieces, there's one they're lifting, two, three, four, five, and then like five and a half. So, that's pretty much going to encompass like most of this rise up is all going to be launch track, which is crazy. And if you guys have seen my prediction video I made a while back, I which released recently, you'd know that I pretty much predicted it would go up there. So, launch trackwise, looks like we're on pace to have a lot of it.
That's for sure. You may notice something over there, and that is a crane on the Skyway tower. And you may notice that there are no longer any other Skyway towers in the skyline. So, if you put the pieces together from my vague wording here, they're gone. So, we are now over here at all of these other track pieces. I want to take a closer look at these for you guys. So, you can kind of tell which ones are going to go where. Obviously, this is a very straight piece. There's not much curvature to it. This is more than likely going to be one of the most steep parts of the tower over there, right?
You've got this piece right here, which is a little wider. It's got a bit of a turn to it. So, that's probably going to be as you're leveling out towards the top. this these pieces over here. This actually looks like this will kind of be the start of the the wraparound so to speak at least as long as it's what we are assuming it will be. Right. This right here similar story. This actually looks like it'll be right after this piece maybe. That right there looking like transfer track right here cuz I mean there's no spine so that would kind of make sense. I don't think it would go anywhere else. These pieces we've already seen. These are the very twisty pieces over here.
um that are going to be at the very top.
And this is the one we just showed you that's got a slight bit of curvature to it. So, it's really exciting. There's also more over here. Of course, you can see another one of the more straight pieces. That'll probably be close to where it starts getting really, really tight towards the top and some of the turning pieces as well. So, there's a lot here. There's still more to come, of course, but we are getting close to kind of the home stretch, actually. And as we're over here in the construction zone, you can see that truck that we were following in has now arrived inside the construction zone. So, it's going to be unloaded hopefully by the time we're gone. Um, we're going to be doing a pretty quick tour today. Just we don't have too too much time. But hopefully that'll be unloaded and we'll get to see which piece gets to come out of that.
But I love walking next to all this track. Very soon this track will be hundreds of feet in the air. We will not be close to this. Mike, does this does this esquire?
>> This giga esquires.
>> We're looking at this piece right here.
I don't think this was here. The one that Mike wrote ESQ on. Um, you can see this is the piece where the spine transitions from this kind of I don't even know what you would call this. It's I guess it's technically a double spine.
Yeah, it's a double spine as opposed to a thick spine. And then it goes to the single spine here. And when I look at it from this end, you can see it's got a really weird shaping to it. I mean, it could just be the way we're looking at the spine, the the lower spine, but it's got a very strange angle to it. Now, we are transitioning towards the Shoreline Pier. Don't worry, we'll go back to Project Purple cuz I know that's why you guys are probably watching, but Shoreline Pier very close to opening at this point. Within a month, I think is a safe bet that we will see this open.
Obviously, if you guys watched some of the previous videos, Ryan said the target is June 17th for the media day.
So, the ride should be open around then as well. But um they're making progress super fast over here. You can see they're I don't know what they're doing.
Doing something with the concrete truck.
Looks like they're cleaning it out maybe. Um you can see they've got the sand over there still for the dunes. A lot of the sand has now moved presumably into the uh area. We also know that this over here is going to be where the sea gals performed. It's actually already on the app and the website. So that is going to be starting pretty soon. So we're walking towards the actual front of the boardwalk here. You can see a lot of the fence has now been painted this very bright, vibrant blue. Tons of plants over here as well that will be going inside the shoreline. See, they are manually bringing all the sand in via uh wheelbarrow for the dunes.
There's this weird looking crane right here doing some work as well. All kinds of stuff going on inside the shoreline here. And like I said, they're getting close for uh the opening of this new area, which is very exciting. All right, so here we are kind of in the area sort of. So, this is concrete we have not been able to walk on yet. Right here, it's beyond the fence. And yeah, this is what your view of the area is going to look like as you're walking up. So, you have the flying scooters right here, what is going to be probably my favorite attraction in the area. Tons of vegetation around as well. It's going to be a really beautiful looking area. Um, as we continue up though, this is where it kind of opens up a little bit now that the concrete is all poured as opposed to just seeing the wooden frames. It's probably easier for you guys to envision how this area will look because, well, here it is. Um, I really do like the look of the flying scooters.
This looks fantastic, especially with the vegetation, the rock work around, or not even rock, just the little rocks.
Looks great. That right there is a retail location with that very nice yellow coloring. Looks like they did keep the one lonely Superman red uh light post there. You can see a lot of new vegetation on the ground there as well where there isn't concrete. And then looking down the line, I mean, there's so much going on, I don't even know where to start. Um, Wave Swinger very much so is still the one that has the least amount done in terms of the rides. All the panels are sitting there and you can see they have started installing some of the panels at the base there, but there's still a lot to go in that regard. Barrels are of fun.
You actually get a really nice view from here. I'm not sure how that view will look once all the shade sails are in.
That's what all these wooden posts are for. They're going to have lighting and shade sails along them. So, we'll see how that looks, but this this really really does look good. The nebulas looks great. Hypno twister. It's I'm going to have a hard time calling it hypnot twister. Um, and you can see the super round up stuffed in back there as well.
Very, very, very nice looking area overall. And you may also notice that there's a new, well, sort of new uh, food stand that may look a little familiar to you guys if you've been to Six Flags America recently. Um, obviously it's going to be rethemed to, you know, fit the boardwalk aesthetic, but that has now arrived. So, you can see kind of get a good idea of where that's going to be in relation to everything. So, that's right there. And here's the area. So, you can see right there is more than likely going to be the entrance for the Flying Scooters. In fact, I think those uh posts right there on that um wooden pole are more than likely going to be the entrance sign.
You can also see they're doing this very interesting looking wood fencing around the area, especially over here as well.
I'd imagine that'll wind up getting painted to match the aesthetic of what they're going for in the area. You can see more of that over here as well, right next to the retail location where there is currently an opening in the fence. That probably won't stay though.
You can also see again more painting going on on the fencing there with the blue. It looks really, really good. And they've got this really nice kind of bit of sand underneath all of these plants here. So, it actually does feel like you're at the beach at the boardwalk, which I know is kind of a concern for a lot of people if this area would really feel that way. But, they are making sure that that aesthetic will carry through in the work they're doing here. One of the most exciting things about this area is that view of Project Purple. Once that tower continues to rise, when you're standing here, which kind of used to be the entrance plaza to Green Lantern, sort of. I mean, it's kind of weird standing in this area now thinking back to what used to be here because right back there is the Conjuring Maze.
So, the entrance plaza was kind of here.
You got that view of Superman with Green Lantern, and now that's all become this.
It's quite the wild transformation to see this now after being so used to what this area looked like for so many years.
Ryan, what do you think, dude?
>> It's looking great. Yeah, >> this is awesome, man. Really come together. I love how open this is.
>> Yes, there's so much space. This area is probably going to be busy, too, so it's going to need all the midway space.
>> We can do a lot of activities that plenty of space.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Well, I know we're going to have the Sea Gals set up right over here, which is going to be one of the shows they have in the boardwalk. And plus, Boardwalk Nights will also be an area or an event rather happening in this area during the summer. So, lots to look forward to.
>> Ken, can you believe that a year ago, uh, no, a year and a half ago, we were standing here and Green Lantern was right in front of us. Uh, >> this is so beautiful. Yes. It's like >> amazing how this whole area transformed.
Like a month ago, you wouldn't you didn't see this. And now it's Now that it's here, it's amazing.
>> It's going to be one of the best areas of the park. I think >> the other day there was nothing here.
>> There was no concrete even yet.
>> No.
>> I mean, the speed at which they're doing this, these plants weren't all in. These are all behind the fence.
>> Yeah. No, they they've moved incredibly fast. Shout out to all the workers you see around here. A lot of union work being done here. They're doing a phenomenal job.
>> In probably just a couple of weeks, we'll be standing right here watching as the wave swinger, which doesn't look too much like a wave swinger yet, but it will once all these beautifully repainted panels are on the ride. It's going to look great. And it'll be really nice to finally have a traditional wave swinger back in the park. We used to have a flying wave back in the day, which I'm sure you guys probably rode a ton.
>> I prefer the Flying Wave >> over the Skyscreamer.
>> You know, I like >> Well, hey, now we have both. You You don't have to pick. You can see that one of the two electrical buildings in the area, which is that green building right there. They're currently installing the shingles for the roof. And that will house presumably all the electrical components for uh the Hypno Twister as well as Super Roundup. And then behind me, you can see the other green building right here, which is going to be the other electrical building for these two rides. And I presume Barrels of Fun is kind of on its own. Um I don't know exactly where it's going to be tied into, but it is kind of its own thing back there. So, as for future work to be done, you can see there's definitely a lot more concrete to be done, especially in the back area of the land here. You can see they've done a lot of work with the sand, though. There's tons of sand back there under the plants by barrels of fun. And then up here, this is kind of the dune look they were going for, and this actually looks really good. If I pivot over this way a little bit, you'll really get a good sense of how this is going to look. And I think the the um look they're going for definitely works. It's definitely going to kind of evoke that shoreline aesthetic they're looking to do here. You can also see they already have speakers installed around the wave swinger here and presumably some of the other rides which are obviously going to be used for like announcements, the ride operators feeling stuff like that. But they've got this little bit of concrete here which they are using. I call this a crane. I know it's not really a crane, it's for the concrete um or water. But yeah, this is really coming together so fast. And while we've been standing over here in the Shoreline Pier, you can see another launch piece has now been raised into place. We're gonna try to get back over there before we have to leave. But it's exciting stuff.
>> Oh, yeah.
As I'm looking around, there's other little things I'm noticing. It looks like we have the kind of setup for the Hypno Twister entrance and queue experience, which is probably going to be over there where there's that extra bit of concrete. There's actually a lot of space for queuing, which will probably be necessary for this ride. And then over here, you can see that I'm assuming in the little bit of a corner there, that's where the wave swinger entrance is going to be, and it's going to kind of wrap around. You can see a lot of the uh Q rails are already installed over there. Barrels of foam.
We can't see it too well from here.
here. It looks like they haven't really done too much in the queue over there.
Pretty much the front half and the back half are very much so split in terms of how much work has been done. They're focusing on the front and working their way towards the back, which makes sense.
I mean, we don't know for sure if they're planning on opening the rides in stages or opening them all together. It sounds like they've gone a little back and forth on that, but if they do plan on opening the rides in stages, that's just about done at this point. The flying scooters, that's very close. This obviously still has some a bit of a ways to go, but this one's very close to being done as well. Um, I do think flying scooters though, definitely the one that will be done first. I'm also know that that is the one that has had riders on it. So, you know, there's that to consider as well. But very excited to see how this area all winds up shaping together and the opening. Obviously, we'll have all those updates for you guys as they come available to us. But within a month, this all should be pretty much done. Now, we're heading out of the Shoreline Pier with my favorite ride right here and uh headed back over to Purple to see how much has been done over there since we were last over there like 20 minutes ago. Crazy to see the shoreline from the other side of Project Purple all just rising above all that fencing there. And look at that view of Purple now with the third launch somewhat installed. That's crazy.
There's the old and here's the new. You can see right there where some of the catwalk supports are going to go in. Um it's interesting cuz they kind of stop pretty much only in that valley there.
So I guess presumably if it were to, you know, valley and have an aborted launch, it would only stop there and that would cover the entire train in terms of the catwalk distance. So they figured they'd, you know, avoid having to put more catwalks than necessary. So that's all that's there. But now that iconic shot that we got from the end of the stall is no longer possible to take.
That will forever be cemented in history now. Um because there's track where we were once standing to take that photo.
You can see it looks like that truck was carrying supports.
>> That's the one we followed in and they are unloading it now. There you go. More supports. You know, you'd think with all the supports that are already here, they would have enough, but evidently not. As we're standing next to the stall, you can see what once was the observatory platform for King Da's launch. So, it would launch right by there. That was kind of the walk up, that ramp upwards towards the station, and that was the observatory platform that was only ever open for like a couple months until they closed it. It's crazy. But look at this.
Look at that view.
>> You know, >> now we're taking a little detour. We're walking in the grave site, which is surreal to see. Just imagine right where I'm standing right here. Cause launch probably started right thereish cuz you would fly past here on photo was somewhere down hereish and now this is where purple is in relation to all that.
So, purple, you know, it's not all the way down like next to where Ka's top hat was, but it's definitely close. Um, it does give you really nice views straight down the line here from in Ka's plot, but you're not going to get to see Purple all that often from this vantage point on this side. Um, so enjoy it because you know, this is not an accessible area inside the parks. Does give you really nice views of this ride though.
So this giant opening right here, well actually right over there, that's where the Q- line pretty much was for KA. You can see it's well gone now, but over here is kind of where the tunnel was where you'd come under the launch track for the original queue. And all of this was the interior queue as you made your way up towards the station. It's crazy to see it all now after the fact, you know, what it what it all used to be cuz I never even got to really experience the original queue. I had like a tour during Riding of the Bull, which was one of the old ACE events. That was about it. But there's your little look into Ca's old queue, though. The the most recent old queue.
You can also see over there some very interesting pieces. It's almost like a lattice kind of structure for the supports. And that could be for the very top of the tower. Maybe even a frame for a sign up there for the ride. I don't know. You can see they are still unloading this truckload of presumably all supports. Yep. You can see there's still another support in there as well.
So, there was either two or three total in there. I think it might have been three. Four more. Actually, they do unload this pretty quick. But you can see they're just finishing unloading that one over there. Oh, there's two in there. Okay, so maybe it was a lot more than I just said. There's probably closer like four, maybe even six.
There's definitely quite a few in there.
Look how wonky this little support looks here. That looks ridiculous. But that is going to conclude today's construction tour of Project Purple, where we watched as the third launch began to be erected, as well as the Shoreline Pier, which is very close to completion at this point.
If you guys enjoyed this video and you want to see more construction updates on all these attractions and all the new happenings at Great Adventure, be sure to like, comment, and subscribe, and I'll see you all in the next video.
Goodbye, guys.
