Kanno Suga (1881-1911) was a pioneering Japanese journalist and women's rights advocate who became the first woman in modern Japan to face execution for political activism; born in Osaka, she initially promoted peaceful reform but adopted radical views after witnessing injustice during the 1908 'Red Flag' incident, ultimately participating in the 1910 High Treason Incident and being executed at age 29 on January 25, 1911, while maintaining her commitment to advocating for women's rights and social justice.
