[00:00:02]Good morning everybody. I'm Don Stewart and welcome to another edition of Breaking News. Today is Thursday. It's the 30th day of April. Hard to believe the last day of April here in 2026.

[00:00:13]And while the headlines this morning are more of the same with nothing really catastrophic breaking as yet, we thought it was a good time to once again put these events of what's taking place into a biblical perspective which clearly explains the current situation. Now, if you're new to us, what we do on Breaking News is exactly that. We only do stories each day that have something to do with what the Bible has to say with respect to what'll take place, the time of the end of the age before the second coming of Jesus Christ and the various events that will precede it. And we take it methodically day by day, uh, looking at not only what's happening now in the short term, but what's going to eventually happen in the long term and see how it all amazingly fits. So, what we're going to do today, we're going to look at a story, an excellent story from the Jewish News Syndicate about the declining support for Israel, why it's happening, why America is not supporting Israel like it should, and put it into the proper biblical perspective, so you and I can see precisely what's going on, why it's going on, and as well as what will take place in the future. All right, here's the headline. Who's to blame for declining American support for Israel? again from the Jewish News Syndicate, from the editor-inchief, Jonathan Tobin, who is an excellent writer, one of the few out there who really hits the nail on the head about every time. Okay, here's what he wrote.

[00:01:31]The growing distaste for the Jewish state isn't the fault of Netanyahu or Israeli behavior. It's driven by forces seeking the destruction of the West and beyond the control of Jerusalem. That first sentence is, you know, was prophetic. Basically, exactly what the Bible says is going to happen. It's not the fault of Netanyahu or Israeli behavior. There are forces going on uh evil forces that are driving the hatred of the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and why they're in the situation they're in. But more than that, it's a fulfillment of the prediction as we will see what the scriptures have to say about the future.

[00:02:07]Uh not only the past, what has happened, what is happening, but the ultimate future for the Jews and of this world.

[00:02:15]All right, here's what he writes. The shift in US public opinion is real and can't be denied. And that's certainly true. Though polls still show a plural plurality of Americans are still on the side of the Jewish state and that the alliance with Washington has never been stronger. The decline of overall support has been precipitous. Since the Hamas led Palestinian Arab attack on Israeli communities on October 7th, 2023, growing numbers of Americans, and here's the key, especially among the young, have decided that the Israelis are the perpetual bad guys in the ongoing conflict with the Palestinians. The joint USIsraeli air force to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon may have only accelerated this trend and the accompanying surge in anti-semitism that's made itself felt in public discourse as well as on college campuses and in the streets of American cities.

[00:03:06]Predictably, this has led to a continual stream of articles from a variety of sources in the secular press and the Jewish world purporting to explain why all this has happened. Some come from outlets that are intrinsics intrinsically hostile to Israel and celebrate the collapse of what was once considered a bipartisan pro-Israel consensus. Others speak of this change with regret and claim to be motivated by a desire to make Israel popular again.

[00:03:32]And he has this heading internalizing myths about the Jews, but almost all of them are wrong. And he's absolutely right on this. All almost all of them are wrong. And the mistake is not in recognizing that a problem exists rather rather it is in imagining that there is much that the state of Israel or its US supporters can do about it. That is a key sentence. It's you have to recognize that it exists but there's not a whole lot you can do about it. Why? As with most discussions of anti-semitism, which is what the increase in anti-Zionism truly is, the error is in the assuming that the critiques of Israel are rooted in what it does or doesn't do. Israel's leaders in government or government are as flawed as those of any other country. And we continue to mention that they're just as sinful, just as flawed. But the shift in public opinion is a product of changes in American society, not the mistakes or even the alleged crimes committed by the Israelis.

[00:04:26]Accepting this terrible truth is as difficult for Israelis and their Jewish supporters as solving the intractable policy dilemmas that Jerusalem faces.

[00:04:35]yet accept it. They must if they are to avoid compounding the problem by making further blenders that will only make the situation worse worse. Ironically, many Israelis and American Jews have internalized some of the most unfortunate tropes of traditional anti-semitism. Jew haters on the right and the left have treated the objects of their abhorance as if they have supernatural powers to do harm to them.

[00:04:57]And this is, you know, something that's gone throughout through history.

[00:05:01]Marxists, for example, have imagined them as the notso secret force behind the alleged evils of capitalism, colonialism, and imperialism.

[00:05:09]Right-wingers have conceived of them as the mastermind of a global Marxist plot against their national existence or their faith. Many adopt the self-contradictory claims of the protocols of the Arab elders of Zion forgery, which they're somehow part of both conspiracies. for all of their justified scorn of anti-semites. The truth is that many Jews have accepted this mindset, attributing to themselves the power to fix, and get this, the power to fix insoluble problems and to persuade people with minds that can't be changed to see reason. That's the whole point. It's unreasonable. It doesn't make sense because we know as we're going to see there's a spiritual problem. And then he has this to say, and it's it's incredible coming from this uh uh writer. There is no solution.

[00:05:52]And that's true. Just as many, if not most, Israeli and Jews once thought they had the power to win over the Palestinians via goodwill and the far-reaching and far-reaching concessions, some are now ready to believe that they have uh that they have the power to change American public opinion. They think that a change in government, the willingness to stop defending themselves or even by adopting clever public relations strategies, the downward trend in support can be halted if not reversed. Of course, many have finally come to grips with the fact that the conflict with the Palestinians can't be ended even by the most generous of peace offers. As such, they ought to understand that the dynamic with the respect of the successful mainstreaming of anti-zionms is is similar. Israelis do not have this power. They never have.

[00:06:39]They never will. To point this out is not to say Israel can't do better at explaining itself to the world or at least try to do so. Certainly the current government and its predecessors have consistently put forward much of an effort uh haven't put haven't consistently put forward much of an effort to do so. Nor is it the case that Israeli governments haven't made mistakes. They have and they made big ones like any other government including other world's democratic states. But when you seriously examine the efforts to aortion blame for the current downturn in Israeli popularity, the explanations of critics provide that they provide are either inadequate or lead us nowhere.

[00:07:19]All right. Uh he concludes that the information war that is being waged against Israel and the Jews is exacting a price and isolation that is far from insignificant. But the price of losing the actual war on the ground against genocidal terror regimes would be far higher. And those who counsel Israel to adopt policies that would lead to such a defeat are neither well-meaning nor wise. And then he concludes that it's time for the supporters of Israel to stop internalizing these false arguments that their opponents seek to impose on them. Israel isn't perfect. Doesn't have to be. But blaming it for the lies and acceptance of beliefs antithetical to Jewish life and the survival of Western civilization itself is neither logical nor productive. It means blaming the victims for the crimes of their persecutors. That's the strategy that's never worked through millennium of Jewish history and won't do so now. His words are so very true. It's happening.

[00:08:13]It's going to happen. It will continue to happen. There's really nothing you can do about it. So the big question is why is this happening? Why this one nation? Why are these people separated from the rest of the nations of the world with the hatred with the rejection of uh them as human beings? The right to exist as a sovereign nation, the right to thrive. All right. So, what we're going to do is look at it from the biblical perspective. uh not only his words are thro so so true of what he wrote but but furthermore it's literally amazing how this opinion piece fits fits precisely how the Bible describes the plight of the descendants of Abraham Isaac and Jacob you go as far back to the book of Deuteronomy where the Lord warned those entering into the promised ma land remember the covenant he made with them he says as long as you obey there'll be blessings uh for you in the land you will thrive but if you disobey me You will eventually be removed from the land. You'll be strangers and vagabons across the face of the earth.

[00:09:12]You'll get no rest for the soul of your feet. You know, you'll be hated by all nations. But God also said in his mercy, he's going to return them to the land even though they have been disobedient.

[00:09:24]And this is precisely what has happened.

[00:09:26]Okay, let's go down the list. The removal has happened twice in the history of Israel. Never happened to any other nation before, never will. First, it was the 70-year Babylonian captivity.

[00:09:37]However, as the Lord promised the people, they were not cut off forever, and they were allowed to return to their land after the 70 years was complete.

[00:09:45]Now, the next exile was in AD.70 as a direct result of the nation rejecting the identity of their promised Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. While Jesus had the credentials that the scriptures predicted about him, he was still rejected by the people. And what did this cause? This caused not a 70-year exile, but a 1900year exile from the land where the people were persecuted in every land that they occupied, which seemingly made no logical sense. They had no history with these people, but they would come in and still were separated, were persecuted, and the Jews always kept to themselves. They're persecuted for me merely being who they are. And this is still occurring to this day. Now, it was not until the middle of the 19th century that the Jewish people who were scattered worldwide began to realize that their only hope was re to return to the promised land, form a modern Jewish state where the inner hatred from the population could not continually harass or destroy them because they couldn't win wherever they went. And since the founding of the modern state of Israel some 78 years later, this continues to be the situation worldwide. The hatred for the Jews. No matter what the Jews attempt to do, no matter how generous they are to their enemies, the hatred as well as the desire for their destruction remains. We also know from scripture it will only get worse in the future. Now, we have documented this in our book 25 Signs were near the end. Here's the what's happened. First of all, sign one recognizes the miraculous fact of their continued existence till the very end.

[00:11:13]This is the prediction of scripture. the miracle of the of the of the Jewish Jews that they still survive. Sign three documents the major events in their past that have led them back to the promised land. Uh just as the scripture said it would happen. They would be gone for a long time. They would come back at the time of the end. Sign 7 predicts that though they're back in the land, they would have no peace. There'll be a continual search for peace. [00:12:00]Amazingly each of these predictions have come to pass. The Jews still exist. They have miraculously returned to their land. something no nation has ever done even once. They've done it twice. Yet, they've not been able to find peace with their neighbors. To the contrary, no matter what happens, they are blamed all the more for the woes of our world. Now, it's important that we as believers appreciate what has happened, what is happening now as what as well as what will take place in the future. And if you're an unbeliever watching this, important that you understand that God's word has predicted all this ahead of time. And those who took the scripture seriously predicted it's going to happen just as the Bible says. And it certainly has. Okay. So bottom line is we need to appreciate this because it's only when we understand what the Bible has to say about this matter that we can make sense of what is going on. Again, without the teachings of scripture, we would have no clue as to what is going on. However, with our knowledge of what it says, we do indeed understand precisely what is taking place. Therefore, once again, we urge everyone to take the time and see what God's word tells us about what is happening, why it's happening, as well as what will take place in the future.

[00:13:14]These things we do know the history, the present, and in the future. All uh predicted by God. And again, the past has been fulfilled. The present has been fulfilled. The predictions there and the future will be fulfilled because God's word is true. So all the speculation, all the theories, all the whatifs, u they're really worthless until certain things take place. But we know how this how this ends. In other words, we've read the last chapter of the book. We've seen the last act of the play. We watched the last scene of the movie. So we know how it's going to end. And we see it moving towards that. But we must know. We must take the time to know why it's going to happen the way it is and what will eventually happen.
