Weather forecasting involves analyzing radar data, temperature trends, and atmospheric conditions to predict precipitation probabilities and temperature patterns; meteorologists use probability percentages (like the 20% chance of rain mentioned) to communicate uncertainty and help the public prepare for potential weather events.

Metro Detroit weather forecast, May 27, 2026 -- 4 p.m. UpdateAdded:
Taking a live look outside from our Rochester Sky Cam. Few of us could catch a quick shower this afternoon, maybe even a thunderstorm. Certified for Warren meteorologist Commandos is here to join us on what we can expect. Well, not much rain. I can tell you that it might look like it's about to rain.
There's nothing on the radar now. We can't rule out an isolated shower, but 20% chance. So, very low chance. But if you're one of those communities that happens to get one, we just want you to be prepared. But most of us are fine.
Kids have sports, things like that. Just keep your 401 weather app handy, but you should be fine. This weekend looks really, really nice. So, Friday is the warmest day with a high of 80 for the Grand Prix. Saturday about 72. There's a possibility we might be a couple degrees lower than that, but we're going to stick with 72 for now. We'll have plenty of sunshine, just a few clouds, and then Sunday we bounce right back up to the upper 70s. Dry all three days as of right now. Out at Metro Airport, we've seen a few clouds move in. Otherwise, planes coming and going as per usual. 83 is what it's popped up to out at Metro Airport. That's the highest I've seen all day. We'll see if maybe we hit 84 in between hours, but I think 83 is going to do it for today. 78 in Pontiac, low 80s in Grocal, and lagging behind. Port Hiron where the winds have already started to come out of the north at about 70 degrees. Lots of delays to talk about across the country. Dallas, JFK, the East Coast getting some thunderstorms. that's causing those delays. Same thing in Dallas. This would be the second day that Dallas has seen some moderate delays. And you know how that goes. It's kind of a domino effect across the country. 70 um high temperatures for tomorrow. So notice the difference. Quite a drop by about 10 degrees. 73 at Metro, 73 Gil, and also down in Monroe. So as we look at the temperature trend, you know, just a little bit up and down, but not as volatile as it's been as it was, you know, the last couple of weeks. We'll we'll be at 73 tomorrow, then go back to 80, back down to 72. So, you know, a little bit of a temperature swing, but not too extreme. Low temperatures for tonight, pretty mild. 53 at Mount Clemens, 56 at Metro Airport, mid50s in Ann Arbor. Temperature lows stay right around normal. Looks like Thursday night and Friday morning is will be the coolest morning when temperatures dip into the 40s. Looking ahead to the Climate Prediction Center 6 to 10day outlook goes through June 2nd to the 6th. calls for above average, slightly above average temperatures. And then it looks like it gets warm for the first into the second week of June with well above average temps. So again, it looks like it's about to rain, but all the showers and storms are really down to our south. We can't rule out something isolated. We'll watch a couple that are moving across Lake Michigan uh to our north and west, but otherwise, I think we're just going to get some clouds out of this and that should be about it. And then look, it's working. There's just no rain. No rain chances as of right now for the next seven days. Something could certainly develop, but right now it's looking pretty dry for quite some time.
High temperatures since midnight. There you go. 83 out at the airport. 70s north of M59. 56 the overnight low tonight becoming partly cloudy. Pretty normal temps tonight. Tomorrow back close to normal with a high of 73. And then we get warmer for a day on Friday before cooling down Saturday and then back to warmer temperatures. But I mean that's a pretty good looking forecast. Tough to beat that, Karen. It >> sure is. All right, we appreciate it.
Thanks, Ken.
