A cold front passing through the Jersey Shore area on Saturday will bring breezy and chilly conditions with dry weather, but the combination of low humidity, gusty winds, and dry ground creates a high risk for wildfire spread, requiring precautions such as limiting outdoor burning and not leaving embers lit outside.

Jersey Shore Weekend Weather Forecast: 5/30 - 5/31Added:
It's the weekend, New Jersey, and I'm meteorologist Joe Martucci ready to break it all down for you here with the weekend scoop. Let's get into it. And we are talking about a breezy and chilly Saturday, but at least it's dry. It's definitely the opposite of last weekend.
Sunday will be warmer and calmer across the area. That is the better of the two weekend days. And but we do have a moderate risk for rip currents on the ocean as we go into this weekend. Water temps are in the 50s as typical in late May. Here's a look at our weekend setup.
So, cold front will pass through the area this weekend. In fact, it's pretty much rolling off the Jersey shore as we go into Saturday morning. We have a big area of high pressure in store, and that's going to help keep us sunny in between two areas of rain. One in eastern New England and another one in the mid-south. We take a look at our future cast, you see that low pressure swirling around and then moving to the east of us. As it does, the winds will weaken and we'll see that overnight. And then we have Sunday, a beautiful day. We have plenty of sun. We have a good amount of warm temperatures as well. And then as we go into Monday, we are looking for it to be dry during the morning, though we can't rule out an afternoon shower here. Here's a look at those wind gusts. They do stay in the 35-mph range for the beaches, 25-30 for places inland here. It's one of those days where it's a little bit of a chilly wind. So, you know, look, it's a nice day to be out and about, but we do have that chilly breeze. And we go into our day on Saturday, and we see highs that will be 63 in Seaside Park, 67 in Millstone, 68 in Hammonton. We look at our UV index, you know, it's going to be one of those days where the UV index never gets all that elevated. And that's because some clouds will build in during the middle of the day that helps to keep the UV index down. So, that's good news for the sunburn situation, but some bad news here on the wildfire situation because we have low humidity, gusty winds, and a dry ground. High risk for the spread of wildfires today. So, you want to make sure you are limiting your burning. Do not leave any embers lit outside.
For our Saturday night, low temperatures in the 40s inland, right around 50° at the shore. This is about 5° below average for this time of the year. Winds will weaken. And then as we go into Sunday, a gorgeous day. Plenty of sunshine, lighter winds than yesterday or than today, I should say. A little bit of a breeze, but lighter than Saturday. 75 in Manchester. We do see um coastal areas getting to around 69 or 67° or so.
I think those numbers are a little low, to be honest with you. I think we do get up to the 70s in a number of beach towns, but this forecast model is just showing some 60s.
You know, we also have the blue moon as we go into Sunday here. So, we had the flower moon on May 1st. Now, we have the blue moon, the second full moon within a month. And it's also a micro moon, which means it is uh further away from Earth.
So, it appears smaller, and it's not as bright, either. Now, as we go into next week, we have the omega block setting up early in the week. But then this kind of spurs off an area of low pressure off the uh South Carolina coast. And that could come back our way as a coastal storm Wednesday or Thursday. So, we're going to leave those rain chances in for now. Wednesday and Thursday, not a definite. We do have a dry weekend ahead. Beautiful temperatures here. And as we go forward in time, I think you'll really enjoy what we have as we go into next Tuesday here across the area.
