Mexican baseball stadiums like Estadio Chevron in Tijuana offer a distinctly different fan experience compared to American stadiums, featuring significantly lower ticket prices (5-140 pesos vs. $80+), more affordable food options, live music entertainment after games, and a more interactive, community-focused atmosphere that emphasizes cultural immersion over passive spectatorship.

I Went to a Toros de Tijuana Game as a Dodgers FanAdded:
[music] >> And I'm not even paying attention to the game.
There's our boy, Justin Turner. That is crazy, bro. Wow.
Dodger fans, he's arrived.
I'm almost missing the shot, bro.
See, me and Dodger Stadium >> [cheering] [music] [music] >> If banda is not your thing, down here you got a rock concert.
>> [music] >> That was a tough parking.
The first thing you'll notice if you have a really big truck like this, it's pretty narrow, you know, to come in to park.
Here we are in Estadio de los Toros.
My lady says, "You know what? Los Toros got nothing on us Dodgers."
You know, the ambient is so different because she asked me like, "What's a Dodgers game like?"
You go up, you look for your seat, and you sit down, and what try to watch the game, right?
But right here, my lady's like, "Bro, come check this out." So, I could already hear the music.
And You'll see.
>> Yeah, Justin Turner. Just signed with the Toros. If you don't know now you know, bro. So, that's that's why I'm out Dodger doubt.
Let's see if we're going to break the bank right here.
General superior right here, 70 pesos.
General preferente 70 pesos like right here. I think that one.
This coded right here.
Central superior right here.
260 central preferente right here. So, so these are the prices if you're wanting to come here and enjoy a Toros de Tijuana baseball game, bro.
This is my first game ever here in Tijuana. I live in Denver, Colorado.
Well, I did until very recently. And um currently transitioning to a California resident. So, they live in Tijuana.
Uh-huh. And I'll be taking a job locally and I'll have to work in the states and then I'll drive back home. Oh, how long ago have you been doing that? Uh, 2 months, I think, ish. Okay. Yeah. How you like it? How's that transition? Um well, you know, I'm a thorough thoroughly American, right?
Yeah. But obviously I have an appreciation for Mexican culture or else I wouldn't, you know, be here with my Mexican wife, right? But um but yeah, you know, I think crossing the border is probably like the the worst, you know, part of it cuz you have to deal with the uncertainty of being denied access.
>> Oh, okay.
Um or just the hassle of it all, right?
>> Got it. Um and but really it's just the uncertainty. But once you're here in Tijuana, we have, you know, all the conveniences Okay.
>> of of America and you get the rich culture the rich Mexican Mexican culture here as well. Okay. So, for me it's nice. I get it like this morning I was in San Diego riding my sport bike in the mountains, right? And now I'm here going to eat tacos and watch a baseball game.
>> [laughter] >> You know, so it has challenges, but at the same time um it's it has privileges and you know, it's awesome. Awesome.
>> Yeah. Is this your first game or you've been here before?
>> No, this is our third?
Third. Third game. Okay. What can you tell me about the the games out here?
Well, I mean to me the thing like you know, I'm used to the sights and smells and sounds >> Okay. of a baseball game. You know, the classic, you know, beer and hot dog, right?
>> Yeah, yeah, yeah. But but here it's like juice and um Mexican type snacks.
>> Okay, okay. So you kind of the smell is different. And as you know, like this our smell is really attached to like emotion and and thing, you know? So the smell is just a little bit different.
But aside from that, um the they don't do like you know, there's like da da da da da da da da you know, like and then I'm like cha!
Oh, sorry.
>> [laughter] >> And [snorts] um so it's just a little bit different, but it's got a cool vibe.
Everybody's super excited.
>> Okay. Yeah, it's a lot of fun. It's like um regional ballpark feel, you know? I see.
>> for five bucks it'll buy you a front row ticket so Oh.
Well, talk to me about pricing out here.
I'm seeing a big difference now.
>> we get the general ones for uh five bucks. And if we want to feel real fancy, we get the fancy seats for 10 bucks each, you know?
But that we like the front row cuz it gives him a wall and he needs Next to third base or first base. Okay.
It's five dollars, dude.
And you're next to first base. Like, why would you not? Bro, you're not breaking the bank like in San Diego or in LA, right?
>> No, dude. I looked at Padre tickets, they're like 80 bucks or something I think for like general admission.
>> Yeah, like a so-so.
You know, I'm from Denver. For whatever reason, Denver tickets are really cheap.
>> [laughter] >> Want going right there by their base.
140 pesos. For 70 pesos.
For ticket. I I honestly didn't believe my lady when she said they're dirt cheap.
They are dirt cheap, bro.
She says there's different access points, but this seems to be the main one.
Oh, wow. El pasillo del sabor. All right.
All right.
>> got the hot dogs.
Which here are 125 is the most expensive one, which is like $8, $9.
>> Okay.
It is not I don't know Dodgers dog like what, $10, $12, $15?
Coffee, obviously. Oh, okay. Que no falta el café. I'm a huge coffee lover, so popcorn. All right. All right.
You got the total shop. Okay.
Kind of reminds me of the main Dodgers shop. Kind of a little a little bit of a look.
Another entrance right here.
Oh, they have cheerleaders here.
Now, that is very different, eh?
Here.
You know, they don't have cheerleaders over there in America because they could get hit.
>> Doritos way.
Let's go, bro. I'm here because of you.
Dodger fans, he's arrived. I know it's Justin Turner, former Dodger player. It is he is now Tijuana Toros baseball player. Crazy.
Like you could have just stayed retired.
Like what brought him to Tijuana?
What?
Ooh.
Ooh.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
Okay. Okay.
Oh. Okay. And after the game, there's always live music.
I I have to after every game? Yeah. Oh my what? It could be band, norteño. It's just just live music for free.
Wow, bro.
Look, we we always look for free things or things that are cheap. Well, you get a free concert right here, bro.
Oh, okay. So I'm sorry, but Dodger fans, Toros beats us in food. I mean, I got to admit there's a lot of options for food.
Plus the ones they sell inside.
No, no, no, no.
>> [music] >> Woah.
Oh, damn it. We got to go around there.
>> [music] >> Before I wanted to become a content creator or filmmaker, I wanted to become a professional baseball player.
I always had that dream.
I played baseball since I was 5 years old.
And it just excites me being here in a different country where my parents were born, seeing a baseball game. I've never seen a baseball game in Mexico. Never, ever.
So, that's why I'm like Oh, And on top of that, Justin Turner, my lady is not that excited, but I am because I have gone to a few games, you know?
But, this is the problem. It's too expensive. So, 10 bucks?
I mean, you're paying $50 for parking already.
And on top of the tickets, that's not even including the drinks.
That's not even including the food.
Like, 300 bucks already, bro. Like, buy for one person. Imagine two of us. Nah, that.
Sorry for my language, bro. that.
That's expensive.
>> [music] >> Oh, wow.
>> [music] [music] [music] >> I'll leave six.
>> [music] >> Maybe you guys A little higher?
Okay.
If you're a ground level person Okay, okay.
Oh, okay. Okay. Okay.
Oh, wow. This is >> [music] >> I'm I'm I'm actually impressed, though.
>> [music] >> Like, for ground level seats to be this close to where Justin Turner >> [music] >> On this time, he's Justin Turner. Guess that's always the first Oh, he's playing first base over there.
Oh, I see him.
Justin Turner over there.
>> [music] >> He's in first base. Damn it.
But, I still think is this is a great view, eh?
for 10 bucks.
Oh, okay. Okay.
>> [music] >> Let's go, Justin Turner!
>> [music] [screaming] [cheering] [screaming] >> There's our boy Justin Turner. There he is, done. There's the LA at Tijuana.
>> [music] >> Bro, I'm having fun out here.
Nice.
Oh, yeah.
>> [laughter] >> I'm almost missing the shot, bro.
Big.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, Toron. Okay, now I see it.
Toron 619 andale.
>> [laughter] >> Hey.
>> [music] [music] >> Bro, my lady was not wrong. I am laughing.
And all the time.
>> [cheering] [cheering and screaming] >> Bro, this is nothing like a Dodgers game.
Nothing like a Dodgers game, bro.
All right, so the game's over.
My lady was right.
>> [music] >> We were this little environment right here was super cool. We're talking to people. You're You kind of saw what was happening.
That is nothing [music] like a Dodgers game. Absolutely not. La música, la comida, the people you get to meet right here.
People were asking me about, you know, the video. So, I think there's more connection here like I mentioned >> [music] >> before interacting with one another.
You're so disconnected from the game. In the Dodgers game, you're like this.
Oh, yeah. Woo, you celebrate when there's a home run and everything. I wasn't I didn't even know what was going on. If you ever here, grab my seat like you said.
This is my seat right here. This is our seat, as a matter of fact.
Ramirez, number 17.
Oh, wow, my lady was right. Show's not over.
Mas aca like show.
Sometimes there is banda, sometimes there's rock, sometimes there's norteno.
You never know.
>> [music] [cheering] >> Hey, you go, Dodgers, bro.
Hey, another Dodgers. Hey, let's go.
>> [music] >> Come here.
Pay me 12 times what I could pay for one trip at Dodger Stadium.
Legit.
Or, let's minimize that to five times plus all the food and drinks.
Bro, five times is crazy cheap. I feel like I'm kind of stealing a little bit, you know, but >> [music] [music] >> I don't think people struggle with getting out of the stadium.
It looks like some people stayed and some people have left. So, getting out of Dodger Stadium is a headache and and half, as we know, because we're directly attached to the freeway. And obviously a really good environment nearby. But yeah, it doesn't look like we're struggling for parking to get out or especially to come in. So that's it ladies and gents. Let me know what you liked about this. Comment down below what else do you want to see? There's so much that we could dive into here. It's so accessible. It's so cheap. And I like I love the environment. So let me know the comment section below. Like, subscribe, comment and share and I'll catch you guys in the next one. Peace.
