Four Legged Friends: Sage

[00:00:02]We are back with Fox's Four Legged Friends and this week we're featuring pets of Carolina Poodle Rescue and today I'm joined by Donna Ezell as normal and we have Sage to tell us about this happy girl who's just wanted her time to shine and she's finally getting it.

[00:00:18]>> And Sage is not a poodle, can you Right, no. [laughter] No, you you bring in all kinds of pups.

[00:00:22]>> kinds. Sage actually about a year ago a lady stopped by our facility and said she'd found this puppy and I wish I had before pictures. She was completely hairless, she was under eight weeks old and it turned out she had a condition called Demodex mange, okay, which is is something that's usually caused by stress. I don't know where she lived, I don't know if somebody dropped her down the street hoping we'd pick her up, I don't know. We just know she came up out of the swamps of Union County and next thing new we we knew we had a puppy.

[00:00:50]Well, she she ended up in a fantastic place, very strategic on her part maybe.

[00:00:54]So, she's been with us ever since and she's just delightful, she really is.

[00:00:58]Now, she is obviously some sort of pity mix, don't know what.

[00:01:03]She is full grown now, so it's actually this is a really good size.

[00:01:06]She's petite, she's not huge. Um, Sage has got so much energy though. I mean, she loves she helped me in the barn this morning all morning long. She was helping me with those horses getting them where they needed to go. Um, she is really good with big dogs. She's too rough with little dogs, I would rather tell you that up front. She's not trying to be mean, she's just She's just a lot.

[00:01:29]>> She's got a lot of dog. She is a lot of dog. Unfortunately, being a pit in a poodle rescue is kind of the kiss of death, okay? That's the unfortunate thing. We've reached out to many partners, but they're all full. Right.

[00:01:41]So, we are committed to continuing to take care of Sage. She is house trained, she is crate trained, she loves to ride in the car. Her foster mom is one of our caregivers and actually takes her all the time. She's gone to dog park, she's gone to breweries, she's gone to coffee shops. This is a well traveled, well socialized little girl. We just need somebody who says, "I'm looking for a best friend." Yeah. And if they are, that's all Sage wants. Just wants a best friend.

[00:02:13]Yes, I know she's not a poodle, but part of their family. Uh and you can fill out the application to see if you'd be the right fit for her. But yes, we'll hopefully uh find her that forever home because she needs that fam that family the hike maybe a a family that gets out and goes on hikes and can get all that energy out. I think it would be perfect.
