This video demonstrates air testing procedures for a Stuart 10V vertical model steam engine, which features a 6-inch height, 3-inch flywheel, 3/4-inch cylinder bore, and 3/4-inch stroke, refurbished in October 2023; the presenter explains that air testing allows hobbyists to verify engine performance and identify issues before full steam operation, noting that small engines present handling challenges on turntables during testing.

Air Test Shorts - Part 6 - Stuart 10V (May’26)Added:
Welcome to part six of my series model steam engine shorts that shows air testing model steam engines on the bench in my workshop.
This engine is a Stuart 10V vertical steam engine, which is 6 in high, has a 3-in flywheel, a 3/4-in cylinder bore, and a 3/4-in stroke.
The engine was refurbished in October 2023.
The Stuart 10V is one of the more popular models to build in the Stuart range of models.
It was difficult keeping this engine on my turntable with it being so small.
I had to take the engine down. However, it still wobbled around.
I'll be running it later using a small steam plant I have just built to supply steam to it.
Thank you for watching.
