Starting a SANE Program When You’re Not a SANE Nurse (Yes, You Can)

[00:00:00]Sometimes in a hospital, a good hospital, and it sounds like you guys work for a good hospital system, sometimes it's doing right by your community. It's doing the right thing by the people that you serve in your community because money, you know, I know money's hard to come by and it's it's a tough time in the system, but that will never ever supersede the rights of these people who are victimized by something as awful as sexual assault. And to me, if I knew a hospital prioritized their community and prioritized these victims, if I saw that in the hospital said, "Hey, look, we're going to do this." As a patient myself, and even as a nurse, it would make me say, "I want to be a part of this hospital that says, 'Look, this is not really something that we aren't the budget, but we're going to make room in the budget. We're going to find a way to serve our community and to serve these victims, not because it's going to get us money, but because it's the right thing to do.'"
