STRIKEMASTER JET PAIR at Midlands Air Festival 2026 (Saturday)Hinzugefügt:
Look at the left to the right. The strike needs to be master progression in the training role.
started off with the piston engine Percol and they decided to upgrade that. It was a tail wheel um tail wheel machine.
They decided to utilize components of that aircraft to produce the jet profits the first one and it was a very unggainainely looking aircraft.
Today's machine by short with a lot of modification and refinement. At first ungamely looking jet promise morphed into training machines that were used right up to the mark 5 various training stations including grand nice formation there.
Very straight wing there. Not designed for high-speed flight.
Adopting the standard uh side by side two seat layout.
About 146 of these were manufactured and produced by the British Aircraft Corporation. But in that they had about 11 different variants.
set developed from the Jeff Pro T5 by the very very reliable 3,100 lb thrust Rolls-Royce Viper engine that uh saw production and used in quite a lot of jet trainers.
of course being the armed version was fitted with two 7.62 62 machine guns forward firing. Eight wing hard points which were strengthened portions of the wing to carry pylons that would uh use various ordinance.
About 3,000 lb of bombs, air to ground rockets, napal and long range fuel tanks.
Not the most comfortable position uh sitting in those ejection seats in the cockpit. It's uh quite straight back.
So the major difference between the trailer was the upgraded engine strength and wing and hard points, the up upgraded ejection seats in it as well.
It also carried improved navigation and communications equipment.
Ecuador, Oman and Yemen were used masters in combat.
The different marks were allocated to the various export customers.
very reliable machines, very rugged, should be operated in difficult conditions. The lucky their strike masters were generally referred to as the blunty These aircraft have a considerable service life with each of the countries with which they operated. As I said, the Kiwi escorted 16 in 1970 to replace the Dav Pilot. And uh it wasn't until 1992 that the last flight was undertaken by three stroke out of a very successful um export particularly to the Middle Eastern countries.
known to be a very very easy aircraft to fly and also an easy aircraft to maintain.
This is very very straight wing there for low speed performance.
maximum speed of the aircraft about 418 knots. We're about 770 kilometers an hour.
Very very happy down at low level as we see here. Um often flying at low level doing what they call a pop-up maneuver uh when they approach their targets.
I thought we going to sing.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, even though they can't hear you or see you, put your hands together for the strike master pair.
