Astronomers discovered that all galaxies are moving away from us, with their light shifting toward red (redshift), which proved the universe is expanding; Edwin Hubble found that more distant galaxies recede faster, leading to the conclusion that space itself is stretching like raisins in rising bread dough, and this expansion implies the universe began from a single point in the Big Bang approximately 13.8 billion years ago.

How We Discovered the Big Bang! đ± #Science #universe #space #astronomy #shortvideo #shortsAjoutĂ© :
Every galaxy we look at is moving away from us and their light turns red.
This simple clue proved the universe is expanding.
You know the Doppler effect. A siren sounds higher when approaching, lower when leaving. Light does the same.
Moving away, redder. Moving closer, bluer. When astronomers split galaxy light into a spectrum, the fingerprint lines shift toward red. The bigger the shift, the faster it's receding.
In 1929, Edwin Hubble plotted galaxy [music] distances versus speeds. The result? Every galaxy is moving away and farther ones move faster. The universe is expanding. It's not that galaxies are flying through space. Space itself is stretching, like raisins in rising bread dough. Every point sees everything else moving away.
If the universe is expanding now, rewind [music] the clock. Everything was once packed together. Redshift led us directly to the Big Bang. Mind blown?
