Control systems use four main types of switching devices: transistors (low power, fast switching), relays (low power, slow switching with galvanic isolation), high-power transistors (high power, fast switching), and contactors (high power, slow switching with galvanic isolation); galvanic isolation means no electrical connection exists between the control signal and the load, keeping them completely separate.

Switching devices and their applications in control systems #automation #electricalengineeringAdded:
Let's go over some of the switching devices. You're going to come across in control systems. So, this is a transistor. It's low power, fast switching. This is a [music] relay. Low power, slow switching, but gives you galvanic isolation. This is a bigger transistor. This is high power, fast switching. This is a contactor. High power, slow switching, but gives galvanic [music] isolation. And galvanic isolation basically means there's no electrical connection between your control signal and the load that you're switching. They're totally [music] separate. If you want to learn more about control systems, I make videos all the time, so consider dropping a follow and I'll see you on the next one.
