[00:00:08]H you may know it and feel it or worse, you don't know it. Think about that.

[00:00:22]I'm talking about being in a rebound relationship.

[00:00:28]Now what is a rebound relationship?

[00:00:30]There's many type of relationship but rarely do you hear people talk about a rebound relationship? You see a rebound relationship is clearly defined as a new romance started shortly after a breakup primarily functioning as a coping mechanism. Instead of being based on genuine compatibility, it often serves to distract from grief, boost self-confidence or self-esteem or fill the void of loneliness.

[00:01:10]Let's look at it from two position.

[00:01:12]Number one, you know that the person is fresh out of a relationship and your discernment is telling you that he or she is still dealing with unresolved feeling and or lingering issues with a person that you know that he or she had deep feelings for. once upon a time.

[00:01:43]Now, what does this mean?

[00:01:46]That mean that some people have gotten out of a relationship with a person and here's a red flag. You hear that person constantly bringing up that person's name. You listen and that person constantly talk about his or her ex this, his or her ex that. And not only do you listen to the words, you also read body language and you know that that person is still dealing with unresolved emotions and feeling towards that person.

[00:02:30]This is a dangerous position to be in if you're interested in someone.

[00:02:38]My recommendation is don't get deep with someone that are fresh out of a relationship.

[00:02:45]Even someone that has been out of relationship with someone, it could be weeks, months, or even years. If you continuous to listen to this person bring up someone that he or she was once in a relationship with, that's danger. I know a lot of you used to look at Lost in Space, right? You remember the robot that was on Lost in Space and you remember the robot could sense things that the Robinson family could not sense. And what that robot used to say, danger will rob some danger. So your discernment should be telling you danger, danger, danger. Do not commit to a serious and committed relationship with someone when you clearly see the red flag that that person still have feelings and unresolved issues going on when it deals to that person. Don't do that because all you'll be doing is being a band-aid. And a lot of time when you being a band-aid when it comes to dealing with someone in a rebound relationship, you normally will be the bridge into another relationship. Rarely does that person stay with you after a breakup with someone. Now the next type of uh unresolved issues when it comes to feelings and stuff when it comes to a rebound relationship and this is the worst position to be in when it comes to a rebound relationship that you clearly thought that the person has wash his or her hand off with. Okay, for example, this is a true story.

[00:04:31]There's this guy that I know.

[00:04:34]He was dealing with this woman and it could go for a woman vice versa with a man, but this is what I know. There was this guy and he was dealing with a woman that clearly told him that she had signed divorce papers with her husband and everything was over with. She really did not blast her husband. So she said that it was the divorce were almost to the end, right? So what he was doing was kind of wrong anyway. He should have let that play out before he said anything to this woman, right? Or did anything. But what he did, him and this woman start spending quality time together. He even introduced this woman to his family.

[00:05:23]They would go on trips together. They would do a lot of stuff together. They would even go to worship service together. and he really thought that they had a unique relationship.

[00:05:35]And there were this one particular Sunday.

[00:05:39]He was expecting for the woman to come to where he lives so they could go to worship together because the relationship according to what he said, the woman said that it was almost final. But she didn't show up this particular Sunday to his place. He called her, she did not respond. He text her, nothing happened.

[00:06:04]So he was trying all kinds of ways to get in contact with this woman, not only that particular Sunday, but weeks after that. And he could not locate her anything. So one day out of the blue, she contacted him. And you know what she told him?

[00:06:20]Her and her husband decided to get back together to see can they work it out. and he was devastated.

[00:06:30]He didn't see it coming. He really thought that it was over. So, it's dangerous people when you get involved with someone when it comes to a rebound relationship because after a relationship is over, normally, not all the time, but normally you are just the bridge over trouble ward. You are basically uh how shall I say it? You are the placement person.

[00:06:56]Now to tell you the truth, you don't have to get yourself in a situation like this, a rebounding relationship. If only you do this first when it comes to relationship or anything.

[00:07:10]Ask Jesus for guidance.

[00:07:15]Don't go according to what you think you know. Ask Jesus as it is written in the book of Proverbs chapter 3 and verse 5-6.

[00:07:24]Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.
