Sporadic E propagation is a summer phenomenon where ionized patches in the E-layer of the ionosphere create short-distance radio communication openings, allowing amateur radio operators to make contacts with stations that would normally be too far apart for reliable communication. During these openings, signals from distant stations (such as the UK to Germany) can be received with signal strengths of 10-20 dB over 9, making them sound like local stations. The propagation conditions change rapidly, with openings and closings occurring throughout the season, requiring operators to monitor and adapt to changing conditions.

>> It's a little It's been a little bit quiet today. So, I've been putting some some power on to uh to find out what's out there, which has not been very good as having been I don't know what it is.
I don't think the antenna is performing as they should if I'm having to run 600 W through it. But certainly that 100 W makes a difference. It makes a big difference to your audio as well. This takes you above that potency of getting noise. But I think when you once you start going above S5, S6, the extra power helps on the audio side.
Please my friend from 26 alpha tango 561.
Operation name is Peter Papa echo tango echo radio. I copy your pen 9 59 is your report my friend. again or is turn.

Uh I don't think I need to really use that much power because I'm I'm speaking local uh to uh Mr. Charlie there. But uh but yeah, your 12 watts is working exceptionally well. On your last transmission, you're about plus 10 yourself.
And my antenna is a vertical serial Venom antenna and my power 100 W 0 whiskey and I log you in. I log you in on the 11.net DX. I log you in there. So if you wish my ef to confirm this contact, it will be my pleasure to my friend as well running about 600 W. Eric, I just had a French guy saying I was causing QRM. Um so hopefully this is not the same situation. But Eric, it's nice to speak to you. It's funny there must be something wrong with the I'm not picking the signals from people that I'm giving them. I'm running some power from it but normally you would be up there in the back. I'm running a flat side element. Normally I am running the three elements LFA quad.
So I no doubt I'm going to go back to that and get that very soon coffee and nice to hear you coming from B today.
I got most of that tonic. I am a guy who can speak very quick, but I think I have met my match electronic microphone doing the business. It's got a nice tone to it. I like the sound of that. I've never heard of that microphone before, but it's certainly very good audio.
No problem, Tom. You're in. You are logged into the cluster, sir. 161 radio Charlie 005. Tom, have a fantastic day and enjoy the condition, sir. From 26 Papa 160. Bye-bye, Tom.

So, thanks for that help. Um, let me see if that's working or not.
Excuse me a second here.
My cluster doesn't seem to be working.
So, yes. Okay. Copy. You're five and 10.
Very strong signal indeed. But a nice crystal clear microphone coming across here.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much. Just I have a problem here.
Yes, that's good. That's good. That's good. Yeah, I just had a little problem there with the cluster. It wasn't working, but it's failing thing. The guy on the side from one division for about 10 minutes. Please stop. I'm speaking to a few station. I'm not even beaming towards one division. So, no disrespect. Please stop. So, your signal is not that strong. You are just wasting your breath.
Um, yeah, Dark. Yeah, it's nice to hear so many stations in Germany coming through and all stations are coming in 9 10 20 dB today. Roger.
>> Yeah. Sorry. The operator name is Billy.
That's Bravo India Lima Lima. The name is Philly and the location is near the city of Bristol. Roger.
absolutely sounding great. The the 7300 that they're walking radio and you also have the S30 microphone to complement it is working very well for you. Nice audio, nice clean clarity on the microphone. I like the sound of that. No problem. Have a fantastic day. There's lots of sessions in here, sir. But I have logged you into the cluster and thank you very much for the short.

And what can you say about the 7300? I was just speaking to DMA who is using one. Beautiful radio. I have I have a 7300. I I've had it for a long time.
Well, I've had it for maybe eight years.
Great video. Have no complaints and nothing bad to say about that 7300. It's been probably one of the best games I've had. It's been really reliable and it hasn't let me down at all. Thank God.
No problem. Try Thanks a lot. I'll I'll try and get you logged into the cluster.
It seems to have all me. I don't know what's wrong with that and see what's I've got about five and six, five and seven. a little bit. I don't know what's happening with the conditions.
It's early days yet, so I think it's a little bit 13 Delta Lima 0360 in Bristol. Frank, thanks a lot.

I think it was a 13 alpha tango in there. The 13 alpha tango station. Go ahead.
>> No, I think he's gone. Lemur radio guy.
Good afternoon, sir.
>> Yeah, good afternoon, Billy. This is a 13 Lima radio 991. And the operator name is Timo. I spelled for you Tango India.

You're five and N just over in the red tonight.
>> Yeah, retro retro. Yeah, it was a listen to you a few minutes and also making a live stream on YouTube. So if you want to see how strong and constant you are booming into Germany, you can see that on YouTube only put my call sign into 13 LR991 and you will find the newest live stream. It's really incredible. You are so strong like a local and I was copy you also with Eric and with Roger and I copy them also. But I was on the indoor antenna. And now I have put out my vertical wire antenna. It's a home pro game master with RG400 silver corks cable on a 18 m long telescopic pole out of my rooftop window in the bathroom.
Okay, Billy. But I make it short.
There's other station from the Alpha Tango. So I I will let we'll let them go and uh I go in the background and say many thanks. truly appreciate for that contact for the short contact and hope to catch you very soon again. Now the sporadic has started at 26 Oscar Papa 160 13 Lima radio 991.
Absolutely. It's nice to hear you and nice to hear you back in our home soil now that the sun is shining in Germany.
I take it. I know you like the warm weather. Rhina is the same. He likes he likes a bit of sunshine.
I'm sure over this me and you get and you can tell me all about your shenanigans across the big sunshine state. I'll get back to this alpha tango station because he's been patient enough to wait. Have a nice day and I do appreciate the live stream. I'll have a little look at that sometime later. I've just put that down the YouTube beside the call sign team and I'll be sure to have a little watch of that. It's always good to hear how good a bad you sound on an actual on a on a live stream rather than just someone being critical either positive or constructive. It doesn't really matter, you know. But it's always good to if there's something you don't like about your audio, you can always polish up a little bit. Team have a nice afternoon or early evening I should say and I know they'll do us again sometime.
13 L radio 91 26 Papa 6. Thanks.
>> I really appreciate for that Billy. 73 check up >> Frank. My best greetings to you and your family at 73 51 and good luck with the DX and of course I hope to meet you again all frequency.

>> Yeah, no problem at all. No doubt about you got the 5 dB 10 dB over 9 like a local station. you are stronger like Frank and Frank is only 50 or 60 kilometers far away from me.
So yeah, I'm really happy that the uh sporadic e season has began and very strong signals are incoming from the UK and Scotland and all over. Uh so that makes me really happy because uh we got a very long break with uh yeah with any contact from there you know a lot of good good stations and friends are coming from there and so I was uh yeah still waiting for the opening for the sporadic because uh yeah uh the USA was uh yeah was ending very early and so uh it was a big break in there and now I'm happy that it uh strong signals are coming up or vertical coming down so it sounds a little bit better. So many thanks. I wouldn't disturb I wouldn't occupy the the frequency from Frank Frank alis Ga Phil and and yeah the station from UK also many thanks really appreciate 73. Good luck. God bless you. 73 is from the Lima radio 99.
