Exclusive Interview ni Atty. ISRAELITO TORREON sa isang Sikat na Foreign Mainstream Media!Added:
The Philippine Supreme Court has refused to block the arrest of Senator Ronald dela Rosa who's wanted by the International Criminal Court. The lawmaker's whereabouts are currently unknown after a shooting at the National Senate BUILDING LAST WEEK.
SENATOR DELA ROSA HAD initially taken refuge in the congressional building last week after the ICC warrant against him was unsealed as shots were fired. He was seen running on the building security cameras seemingly trying to avoid detention. The country's president swiftly announced his government was not behind the shooting and that Manila hadn't ordered the lawmaker's arrest.
The suspected gunman was later identified as a driver working for the country's National Bureau of Investigation. The government agency responsible for carrying out the Hague's warrant. RT spoke to his lawyer who was on the ground as the events unfolded.
I was there. I was there although I was not in the shooting incident itself but minutes before that I was able to take videos.
Certain persons were casing the Senate building. Turned out to be NBI because I was able to zoom the video and um most of on the right side they were wearing NBI patches the it's in reason even their shirts and on the left side when they were already in the Senate portion of the compound they were likewise armed persons who were casing the Senate building and I'm very certain that they were likewise NBI personnel. So General Ablaska that he cautioned the NBI not to go inside because they were armed but refused. So, General fired as a as a defense mechanism so that they would not be able to what you call this to enter the Senate building. And the NBI, as admitted by them, returned fire. And that is why the firefight happened.
The ICC unsealed Senator De la Rosa's arrest order the day he was scheduled to appear before Congress to block Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment.
She is the daughter of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who is now detained in The Hague facing trial for alleged crimes against humanity in connection to his war on drugs. Senator De la Rosa's lawyer also told us these events are part of a greater plot to remove everyone connected to the former leader from power.
This is all political. Why? Because we have reasonable grounds to believe that Senator Bato has to be arrested and brought to Hague even without following our constitutional law, our our 1987 Constitution and our pertinent laws, because this is related to my own humble mind to the impeachment of VP Sara Duterte. To our mind, if they can arrest him and then thereafter Senator Bong Go, then the 16 votes required to achieve the 2/3 requirement under the 1987 Constitution would be achievable already. And this is also another scheme so that the issue on flood control, you know, massive corruption would be diverted, would no longer be talked about by the Filipino citizen. So, they are providing us, to my humble mind, my own opinion, a circus so that the attention of the people would be focused on the political circus that they are >> [snorts] >> actually creating.
