[00:00:00]New at 6: People and animals across South Carolina are wondering what caused a loud boom yesterday evening. Listen to this.

[00:00:16]Yeah, unbelievable. So, that sonic boom was felt and heard about 3 mi northeast of the St. Andrews area of Richland County. The United States Geological Survey said it was not an earthquake.

[00:00:29]So, of course I asked meteorologist Daniel Miller, "Well, then what was it?"

[00:00:32]>> Yeah, most likely this is going to be a meteor or maybe space debris coming in.

[00:00:37]But, it was centered the boom over Richland County. It was uh heard about 50 mi away from there.

[00:00:43]>> Well, my guess is were you traveling?

[00:00:45]Were you driving in South Carolina around that time?

[00:00:47]>> [laughter] >> I don't think I would drive that fast.

[00:00:50]>> Okay, but um boom. Now, back to weather now.

[00:00:52]>> Yes, uh I can't predict the meteorites or anything like that, but I can predict a nice day outside.
