The DOJ’s lawsuit serves as a necessary reality check for a GLP-1 market that has prioritized rapid scaling over medical integrity. It is a vital step in distinguishing legitimate patient access from predatory exploitation in the telehealth gold rush.

GLP1 BREAKING NEWS: DOJ files lawsuit against telehealthAdded:
Hey guys, good morning. Happy Wednesday.
Welcome back to the channel for another video today. Today we are talking news topics. I have two pretty big news stories that I want to go over with you guys and explain to you how they might affect us in this GLP1 community. So, let's get going. If you're new here, my name is Britney. I've lost 115 pounds on a GLP1 mostly on compounded troeptide.
And I've shared that entire journey here on the channel from my very first injection up until now. And now I like to share your guys' personal stories.
I'll I'll interview some of you guys and you'll come on. We talk about news topics. We talk about studies that are going on. Pretty much if it is included in the GLP1 space, we talk about it here from a real relatable standpoint. If that interests you, we would love to have you subscribe and stick around and join the free encouragement Facebook group which is always linked down below.
We have a lot of fun over there. Um it's growing really quickly which I'm so excited for since our other one got shut down. Um the new one's growing pretty fast. So come and join us over there. um and hang out. And then I have links to everything else down below as well if you just want to check out different options. I have my Amazon storefront link below. All the things down below.
Go ahead and check that out. Okay. So, I actually brought notes today, which is something that I don't typically do when we talk in my gazebo, but I wanted to make sure that I actually got all of this correct. So, two main topics we have to talk about today are Zelie Health, which oh my gosh, do we have some dirt on them, and the CEO of Eli Liy, David Rick. So, we're going to start with David, okay? Old Ricky, we're going to start with him. So, the CEO of Eli Liy, his name is David Ricks, if you do not know, he was uh speaking at the Semaphore World Economy Economy Conference um last week, a couple days ago, right? And he was speaking um directly on the access of GOPs and how that is going to look going forward. and he made the statement.
No, no lie. This man literally said that he is disappointed that only one in 10 Americans are on a GOP1 um when so many more million would qualify for one. The nerve of this man.
So he went further throughout this speech and kind of named what the three problems were in his mind that is keeping people from accessing GLP-1 therapy. Okay. Number one was cost.
Funny coming from his mouth, right? Um so he said that the cost barrier is an issue for a lot of people as we all know and that it is preventing people from having access to a JLP1. What he did not do in this conference is talk about any ways in which they are going to close that cost barrier access gap. He pretty much kind of listed it as a problem and then that was that. Okay, that was number one. Number two is insurance obviously. Now I do I am one that believes that insurance plays some role in this cost structure and how it's kind of developed right so I do think that both of those are good points um but insurance is the second one that he said essentially it but but the ultimate problem is right is that it costs so much for insurers to cover it that they're going broke doing so in their minds right so like ultimately if the price would be lowered then more insuranceances would cover it so it seems like you could fix both problems by addressing the cost issue itself. But anyway, that was number two. And the number three reason he said was biases and judgments surrounding GLP1 use from people in your real life, which I can actually get on board with. So why I think this is important is for two reasons, right? So number one, he's addressing the gap. So there's one in 10 people that would qualify. So if all 10 people qualified for the GLP1, only one of them is going to be on the GLP-1.
Okay? So there is a very big gap in access and availability versus qualifications. Okay, so that's number one. Number two, he's pointing out the fact that even though there is this access gap, they're not necessarily going to do anything about it. So the whole like sustenance I guess of this talk was mainly surrounding um Oh, it wants me to pause my workout. mainly surrounding foundo and how this is going to solve this huge access problem, but is it is it cheap enough?
I personally don't think so. So, what I find to be so interesting, and again, why I want to bring this up, and I want y'all's opinions on it as well, is that Eli Liy is literally driving 90% of the lawsuits surrounding ending compounding and enforcing what they think to be the right thing and yada yada yada yada. So, while he's coming out saying we have this access gap, we have this issue with people being able to afford it, he's their same company is also rallying against the more affordable options. So, like where does it end and which one is the real David Ricks is kind of my thought process on this whole thing. I think that I've said before I said this on the live last night if you missed that. I think that sometimes he is like a word vomit person like says things before anybody really approves for him to say them and then it's like he can't take it back once it's been said. Right.
So, they're a multi-billion dollar company, right? They have made a lot of pharmaceutical advancements that have helped a lot of people, but do they have the face of PR that they need to have?
Probably not. That's my opinion on this.
I want to know what your thoughts are on what he said. Um, I think he thinks in his mind that he is suggesting that people get on Poundo and that this will solve an access problem. But even as he goes further into this talk, he mentions that at like peak consumption of GLP-1 use. So you know a lot of the statistical data is talking about like the year 2030 2035 right now and how many people will be on GOP1. Even at that time he's saying that only four out of 10 will have access to a JP1 that would qualify for one. So about 40%. So again, maybe he's trying to toot his own horn, saying that, oh, Eli Liy and all these other developments are going to lead to three more people than would have had access having access to a JLP1, right? Um, and but is that that's not good enough. It's not good enough, David. Okay, moving on.
This is a big one. We are talking about Zelfie Health and the new lawsuit that was filed by the Department of Justice. So, the Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Zelie Health, which if you do not know who they are, they are a tellahalth company that was around like a year or so ago, I was personally seeing a lot of their ads on like Facebook and stuff offering compounded GLP1s. Okay, so they presented themselves as a legitimate option for compounded GLP ones. However, let me tell you what was found out about good old stealthy health. So, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit claiming that overseas workers, so outsourced workers that were not American citizens, were calling in prescriptions for their patients to these compoundingies to even some like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, like um branded options. And they were doing so they were not doctors. They were not providers in any sense of the word. and they were using stolen NPI numbers to call in these prescriptions. So, if you don't know what an NPI number is, it is a number that is assigned to a medical provider, a nurse practitioner, a doctor, um a physician's assistant, whatever that is assigned specifically to them. And that is how prescriptions are traced back. That's how it's like a verifiable, hey, this person can write a prescription. That's used to track all of their information. So, they were using stolen NPI numbers to call in prescriptions for patients from overseas, people that were not even American citizens, people that were not a medical provider in any sense of the word. So, they did not have true doctors working for them um and true doctors doing these telealth visits and writing these prescriptions. This is a area of the teleahalth space that I think is so concerning and so so so scary. Um, and Zelthy was one that I had seen, like I said, quite often and one that I never in a million years would have thought was issuing prescriptions. Like we had that issue with MoJi a couple of years ago where they found out that Dr. Myra was not an actual doctor, but she wasn't actually writing prescriptions, I don't think. Somebody can clarify if I'm wrong. Um, she wasn't using a stolen NPI number and actually issu issuing prescriptions for other people. So, that's not all that they did. Actually, this goes even deeper. So they also are claiming that they um they had they have several financial fraud claims against them. Customers were claiming that it was very very difficult to cancel their prescription. And workers, people that had worked there previously are claiming that they were told to do anything in their power to not cancel a patient.
even so far as autocharging people and then just hoping that they don't call to cancel or not issuing refunds and assuming that people wouldn't do charge back on their credit card.
Now, the CEO of Zeli was actually on the 30 under 30 list. So, that list itself has a a pretty good wrap sheet for it's like a curse. People say if you're on the 30 under 30, uh you're you're more likely to end up in jail, commit fraud, be a criminal, whatever. So what this does two things okay I have said that I think that the FDA and the government as a whole is sort of the the tides are changing towards peptides we see this in how they're reviewing some of the peptides now and how they have re-released compliance um data speaking more so on like hey you can do it but this is specifically how you have to do it with the 503AISE like we've seen that sort of shift from avoiding stopping doing it to making sure that they're doing it correctly, right? However, now we are seeing it go even further and the Department of Justice is taking action against these companies that they have found are not doing things in a legal way and I am on board with that. Like if you find a company that is doing stuff that is not correct, that is issuing prescriptions to people without even having a doctor on board, then yes, please file lawsuits against them and stop these people so that people don't get scammed so that people have safe access to dopes and so that the ones that are doing the correct thing can continue to do it. I think that one company can give everybody a bad rap, right? So, there are going to be people that see this about Zeli and then they're like, "Oh, the whole tellahalth space is scary and how do you trust any of them?" And I don't blame those people for feeling that way. Not at all. Because if I was somebody who had never done the tellahalth thing and had never experienced tellalth medicine, I would think the same way. Like, are you telling me that they can just have some in India write a prescription for me and not even be a doctor with stolen RX numbers? Right? So, I see where the concern is coming from, and I'm actually really glad that the Department of Justice is taking action against these people. Now, this is a very new lawsuit, like literally yesterday, so we don't know any further details on it. Zelty has not come out and made a statement.
I'm not sure that they're really even still practicing or still um in the in the space, if they're still even actively writing prescriptions, but I do know that they were doing so illegally, that people were not actually in contact with doctors. you were not actually getting medical advice and that you were probably autocharged or charged too much or charged exuberant fees. They're looking into all of their financial records as well. So, I want to know if you are somebody who has heard anything about Selfie, maybe you had an experience with them. If so, please leave them down below. One thing that I have always cautioned about and I will continue to caution about on my channel is using these little random popup tellahalth companies that are extremely new to the space. Kind of like pretty much blanketly these Facebook popup ads, right? That pop up and and you've never seen them before, but their deal seems too good to be true. I think at some point you get what you pay for. Oh, there's a birdie up here. I think at some point you get what you pay for, right? I would say that if you're going to use a teleaalth company, research them. If not your own research, then then talk to somebody who has researched them and make sure that you are using a legitimate company, a legitimate space. There are some like I would categorize them in two different ways, right? Ones that I think meet every single piece of my criteria and ones that are good enough that are at least legitly doing it that at least have real doctors, right? And you can find a lot of those right out there. If this company has been around for like three or four months, if they just popping up selling really cheap teptide and really cheap simaglletide, I think you should question that. Um, and that's kind of what I'll say about that. I think that this very much so proves that that it's apparently that easy to just issue prescriptions in the United States without even a doctor being present. And that is actually a federal crime that these people will be prosecuted with.
like stealing NPI numbers is like big big no no. So I am sure that all of these people that did it and that authorized it are going to be prosecuted to the fullest and I think that they should be. So I want to know what you think about both of these new stories.
Um I think that they are two very different sides of the same coin. Right.
So Dave, yeah David Rick Ricky Ricky Rick, we have some access issues. You're not going to solve those access issues by offering us foundo, which you know doesn't have even as good as results as simaglletide, the oral film form for $149 for the lowest dose and then you increase our dose a ton, right? You're not going to you're not going to close the access gap through that. You're going to close the access gap through offering everybody all doses of uh zet boundaro for like 200 maybe $250 a month. I'm pretty sure you'd still make a pretty good amount of money off of that. I don't have statistical data on that, but if you want to reach out to me and we can have a discussion about it, you just go right ahead. Um, I know that you're funding additional resource, but research, but like the American people need this medication. We need to get healthy. We need to do it. And that if we do that, if if it is made affordable, then that's going to trickle down into everything else in our society, right? And we all will be better off healthwise, financially wise. like we're all going to be better off in the long run if we just get everybody access to this that needs it. So that's that's my soap box.
Going to hop on off of it. Um I want to know what you guys think about these stories. If you missed the live from yesterday, it did um go really well. We had Matt from Belle hop in and talk to us and answer a lot of questions. Um and there was a lot of other good questions about plateaus and side effects and all kinds of stuff in there. I believe it reposted to like the live section if you want to go and watch it. Um, going forward, we are going to do lives on Thursday evenings. Time to be determined. I'm going to do a poll.
Decide if you guys want five, if you want six, if you want seven, Eastern Standard Time, and we will take whichever the most popular is. So, look out for a poll for that. I will try to remember to post it today. Um, and I'm trying to get back to every single comment, every email, every Facebook message. You guys have been so forthcoming with all of your questions recently, and I love that, and I want to answer them all. So, I've been trying to dedicate time to do all of that. So, um, if it if I haven't gotten back to you from a question from yesterday, I will try to get to it today. Have a little patience, but I'm getting back to everybody. So, thank you guys so much for watching today's video. Tomorrow, you will see an interview that I filmed, which with a really great, amazing woman who has found a GP1 and changed her life. So, stay tuned for that. Um, and I will have some great content coming next week for you guys as well. I'm going to be inter interviewing Tiffany from the Better Living PA, um, Dr. Taylor who is with Belle is going to be coming on.
We're going to be doing some collabs together. So stay tuned for some great um professionalbased research information and I will see you guys tomorrow. Hope you have a great day. I will see you in the Facebook group today. Um come and chat with us. Have a great day. Bye.
