Instant Benefits When Quitting AlcoholAdded:
Hi everyone. Just a bit of a short video today. Famous last words.
But it's just about the benefits you feel that when you quit drinking kind of quick benefits, you know, within the first day or two that I always seem to gloss over. Like I genuinely do. And it wasn't until once again I saw somebody reply to a comment that was in the in the comments section.
That's why I love the comment section, honestly. I know I kind of ramble on a bit about it, but there's you know, I don't have all the answers, you know, cuz my journey is, you know, like I always say, our journeys are so similar, but they're so different in so many ways.
And there's people out there that have just experienced the same things that other people have experienced that I just, you know s- didn't experience on my way.
And one of them is just about kind of instant benefits where someone's saying like you know, I'm I'm in day one day two, you know, of something, you know, just about not you know, I've not achieved anything so far, you know, I don't feel any better for this. What's the point, etc. And somebody g- wrote back an amazing message and I honestly wish that I'd screenshotted it because as I've never covered before, you know the day the day are are are day after that day you have you're already onto a winner.
And the first thing is is, you know, you've woke up that day and your hangover's not as bad as it was the other day. You know, it's been another day under your belt.
I'm sure you're feeling better. You might not be feeling right as rain, you know.
I took what, two, three days to fully recover. But, I'll tell you something, after that first day and the second day, I felt a thousand times better than I did uh when I woke up maybe on the Sunday morning after a couple of nights on the booze.
And that's definitely a win. Also, with the anxiety I think for a lot of us and a lot of us just judging by comments and other videos I bought anxiety won't be as bad either. And that's another win.
You know my anxiety used to be absolutely horrendous. Like horrendous the day after a binge. I never knew what it was going to be like.
Normally, when I expected to get anxiety from hell it just never hit.
Uh and on other weekends, it would just hit without warning.
And the day after, the day after that day, your anxiety will be a lot better.
And again it's definitely a win.
Another thing is your finances.
Especially these days, the amount of money I used to spend on a night out was absolutely wild. And if you're going to the pub every day and spending maybe $50 or euros or pounds or whatever, and remember you've got the the takeaways and the Ubers and all that as well.
You might have saved yourself like a hundred pounds just by not drinking two nights. If you've not went out the night before because you decided, you know what?
Today's going to be my day one.
That's already saved money as well.
And think about your health.
It's one full day or two full days that you've not been drinking.
And I'm sure if you've not been drinking booze, you've probably been drinking water or diet coke or cups of tea to try and get yourself hydrated again.
And again, I don't think for some reason we really see that as a win. But, if you compare it to what it would have been like if you decided to maybe go out this Sunday and get hammered again, instead of nailing 10, 15, 20 pints or a bottle of vodka or three bottles of wine, you've not you've not consumed anything.
So, I think it's important to just if you're on day one and and day two to just remind yourself that, you know, Rome wasn't built in a day, but you're already reaping the benefits, you know. Granted, you might not be sleeping like a baby and, you know, your head's a bit of a mess all over the place, but with the things I just mentioned, the the health side of not boozing for a day or two, the finance side, you might have saved a load of money by not going out.
You're just one day one day further away from that that hangover.
And it And while I'm on the topic, I know they said it was a short video, but benefits take time, you know. As I say, Rome wasn't built in a day.
It can take absolutely ages for your body to heal. If you think about it wasn't till I really sat down and thought about it how much punishment you put through your your body through in the last whatever amount of years, all that all those heavy nights, the kebabs, not exercising, and I don't think it's right for us to think that after a week or maybe even a month we should be feeling like we can run marathons. The second time I quit, it took me ages to get my energy back, and I was always like, "Why am I not fitter? Why am I not fitter?" But I thought for 2 years I've just been neglecting my body, eating crap, and then when I was hungover, I wasn't eating anything at all.
And I was just absolutely punishing yourself.
And there's things like finances and relationships that take a while to to sort.
You might need to put in a plan, a 12-month payment plan to pay some stuff off.
Relationship-wise, you might have spent years neglecting somebody, whether it be family or friends.
And it will all take time.
But that needs work as well, you know?
But hopefully enjoyed this shorter video. I just wanted to remind people that although you may be on day one and two and you're not really thinking that, you know, I'm not feeling breath better. I thought maybe a few days off the booze. Just remember that there's loads of small wins that you've already had just by not drinking that day one by having a a a day of not consuming alcohol.
Everything's thanking you, your body's thanking you, and your wallet's thanking you, and your friends and family are thanking you. But anyway, hopefully enjoyed this one. Take care and I'll see you in the next one. Bye.
