When selecting motorcycle handlebars, riders should test-ride demo bikes to find the optimal width and height based on their body proportions, as handlebars positioned slightly below shoulder height can significantly improve comfort during long rides by reducing shoulder strain. Additionally, clutch cable tension can be adjusted using a 12mm wrench on the adjustment screw to ensure proper clutch release and prevent slippage.

New Indian Mid Riser Handlebars on My Indian PursuitAdded:
And make sure we're heading back to Halifax today. Last uh Last week I was there.
And I got some stuff done to my bike.
And uh They didn't They couldn't finish it all because of time and of course they couldn't stay overnight cuz I had to get back. So, anyways, I'm heading back down there today to get some more stuff done.
So, another I don't know, 2 and 1/2 hour ride, something like that.
So, I figured I would talk you a bit about what I did get done, which was my handlebars.
Oh, yes. Right? My handlebar.
Which I am actually very much loving.
I uh Oh, there's so many handlebars out there right now that you know, you can buy, I guess.
And uh Question always is is which one do I enjoy getting? Which one do I get? You know, I I bought some for my Roadmaster that I had before, which I I liked.
But, because the Pursuits uses a different style of handlebar, for sure, uh you know, a lot of times you're buying blindly. Now, luckily for me, when I was in Edmonton over uh I guess last year, last fall, I had the opportunity to just sit on a demo bike or a a bike in the shop that actually had the Indian The actual So, these are the Indian mid-risers for the Pursuit. And I was like, "Yeah, all right. Those Those are Those are comfy. No No uh issues with those."
You do get your hands like a lot of people had actually said that your the bars are a bit wider, right? So, they actually are out here a bit more.
But, I don't necessarily think I notice it.
And maybe it's because I'm naturally just I'm a I'm a wider guy naturally that I don't find it to be an issue at all.
Right? I'm just like, "Yeah, feels feels feels right." Feels right. And for me, I'm a 6 ft tall and for me, uh you can tell, right? Like my arms are definitely have a bend to them, right? I'm right up back against my actual uh backrest. So, no issues, right? And I can really lean back and still hold onto the bars, no problem at all, which again is really good.
And I I really like the heights that are not up too high. Again, for me, this is all It's all personal preference. Some people, you know, like to have their bars up here, right? So, they're almost parallel with the shoulders. Of course, that would be probably the limits of legality in a lot of in a lot of areas.
And of course, some people like to have their bars up even higher. Again, all kinds of personal preference.
But, for me, I like having them just slightly down from my shoulder height, which is exactly where these are.
Uh and and I think, depending on you, I have a taller torso or a longer torso and shorter legs.
So, for me, they sit really good. I think if you are getting maybe had a more normal torso size or small torso, then you would find the bars to be, you know, up up higher just for you because you you sat lower.
But, other than that, I think these are fantastic.
Um so, definitely definitely worth the money, I think.
And uh yeah, they look they look good. They make the bike just look a little better.
Plus, like I said, for me, I find on the old bars, they kind of are down like here.
And uh fine for riding the bike, for sure. But, I find on long rides, like last week when I was riding to Halifax, my shoulders just cuz you're constantly kind of in that position where your shoulders are pushed forward a little bit just to kind of drop them down.
And uh they might My shoulders were sore by the time I actually got to Halifax.
So, these These so far have been no issues at all.
Now, on a uh just another topic, just while we're here, my bike, ever since uh I bought it from Montreal at a dealer down in Montreal, uh when I was bringing it home, I guess it was the end of October, I was riding it home, the it was under load, you could feel the clutch slipping, right? You could feel that, you know, when you're in fifth It was really happening in fifth and sixth that when you hammered it, that uh you could feel the the engine rev up before it actually kind of caught.
So, it was happening in fourth and fifth.
And then, of course, when I drove it to Halifax, I was testing it again, and I could feel it happening in fourth, I could feel it happening in third. You know, so I was like, "Oh, that would seems to be Seems to be getting worse, whatever is the cause."
So, I took it into the shop and they were like, "Okay, well, we'll see what we can just do a quick look just around to see." It's a different shop, of course. It's one in Halifax, not where I got it in Montreal. And the Montreal guys said it was all tuned properly, there was no slipping, there was, you know, when I contacted them, and they're like, "Well, yeah, there is." And they did nothing. Did nothing. They They really were just like, "Whatever."
Thanks. Thanks for nothing.
But, the Halifax guy were like, "Yeah, we'll see if we get any, you know, engine codes or anything like that.
We'll send it to the Indian and we'll see what's going on, etc. etc." But, I ended up doing my own YouTube uh research and found that the clutch cable and I don't know if you can see here, I have a little just a tiny little bit of play, not a lot, just a tiny little bit of play right now, where as before, I had nothing. No play at all. It was It was tight right from the back, right? As soon as you grabbed it, it was tight.
So, the thought was, of course, that uh my clutch wasn't able to completely release.
So, it was holding the clutch and of course, the clutch was slipping because it didn't have a chance to release, I guess.
Or pop in. I don't know which way it actually goes. I I'm not a mechanic.
Anyways, underneath the uh bottom left here, my left, uh there's a clutch adjustment screw.
And uh they're just like, you know, it it's You don't want to loosen it too much, but if it's tight, you may want to give it a little bit of a loosen. Uh I can't remember. It's like a 12 mm wrench, something like that. And I did it. You know, I did it. I gave it like, I don't know, maybe a half turn, maybe a full turn, something like that. Bring up There's a lock nut, so you just kind of loosen it and then you loosen that and you retighten it.
And now I have this play right here, which is great. And ready? Normally, I would slip here.
No slippage.
Which is fantastic.
Super nice.
Anyways, I'm on my way to Halifax and uh that's it for now.
I got about a 2 and 1/2 hour ride ahead of me. And uh yeah.
Bike's running good.
And I'm very pleased.
All right, guys. I'm going to leave you there, and I will see you fine folks uh next video.
Which will be coming out actually soon because uh I'm going to Halifax, staying with a friend of mine, Dave, overnight. Taking the bike in tomorrow, actually. And then tomorrow night, I'm staying with a friend of mine, Joel. And uh Saturday, we're heading out to the blessing of the bikes that's in Truro, Nova Scotia. So, I got to do that with them. And then uh I'll ride home. So, there should be a video of that coming up coming up shortly. All right, guys. I'm out.
