If the largest known star, Stephenson 2-18 (with a radius 2,000 times greater than the Sun and mass dozens of times greater), replaced our Sun, Earth would be instantly inside the star, and all planets would be destroyed by extreme heat and gravitational forces within seconds.

Inside Universe Sandbox, we simulated one of the most terrifying scenarios imaginable. What if the largest known star entered our solar system? This colossal star, known as Stephenson 2-18, is vastly larger than the Sun. Its radius is more than 2,000 times greater, with enough volume to contain billions of Suns. If it replaced the Sun at the center of the solar system, its outer layers would stretch far beyond Saturn's orbit. And the first thing to happen would not be rising temperatures. Earth itself would already be inside the star.
Mars, Jupiter, even massive Saturn, would all become trapped within the star's enormous body, instantly melting and vaporizing under unimaginable heat.
[music] The brightness of this giant star is hundreds of thousands of times more intense than the Sun. Even distant Uranus would watch its [music] frozen surface rapidly evaporate, while its atmosphere gets stripped away completely. And with a mass dozens of times greater than the Sun, its overwhelming gravity would shatter every planetary [music] orbit in seconds. The once-stable solar system would collapse into a chaotic sea of fire and destruction >> [music] >> before humanity could even react.
Everything we know would already be reduced [music] to dust. Against a cosmic monster like this, human civilization would have absolutely no chance of survival.
