How To Apply Eyeshadow For Beginners | Makeup Tips And Tricks

[00:00:01]We all love wearing eyeshadow, but sometimes instead of accentuating the eyes, it looks more like a big mistake.

[00:00:08]Hi, I'm Tano, professional makeup artist. I'm at Glamorous Studio today to show you exactly how to place your eyeshadow to make those eyes look glamorous.

[00:00:20][Music] A couple of must-h have brushes I always recommend people to have in their personal makeup bags is an eyeshadow application brush has this. It's flat.

[00:00:33]This is by MAC 239. It does a great job of uh placing the eyeshadows on your skin. Then a rounded off fluffy brush as this. This is MAC's 217. Fantastic for blending in colors. And then a small rounded pencil brush as this. Great to blend eyeliners, smoke out your eyeliners or smoke out the coal. There are two textures available in eyeshadow. You have cream eyeshadow and then you have powders. Cream eyeshadow uh be very careful. There are a couple of different variations available in the market. Something like this. This is a cream base. So this goes as a cream on the skin and it stays as a cream. So it's easily movable. You will have to set this with another powder uh formula and then you get paint pots by MAC, Bobbi Brown, various other companies, they do this. This goes as a cream on the skin but sets immediately.

[00:01:28]So you have very little play time with this. So in case you're using this product, you have to be very careful that you blend it off immediately. The next obviously our good old friend, we have the powder texture. If you're still new to makeup and you want to try your hands at eyeshadow, I always suggest start off with powders and then maybe eventually you can move on to creams. Another great trick is to use your color cold pencils as eyeshadow.

[00:01:55]Just apply it like an eyeliner, blend it off with a rounded pencil brush, and taa, you have eyeshadow done there.

[00:02:05]If you're going to be using two or more colors for your eyeshadow application, please remember the darkest color is going to be placed on the outside corner of your eye and the lightest is going to be on the inside corner. And if you want to do a vertical placement, then the lightest color is going to be on top and the darkest color is going to be closest to your lash line. Having said that, I'm going to be doing my eyeshadow routine.
