Urbandale Ash Tree Treatment Still Working After 12 Years

[00:00:00]Hey everyone, Billy with Top Notch Tree Care here. I'm over here in Urbandale.

[00:00:05]I am >> [music] >> treating an ash tree green ash for the emerald ash borer.

[00:00:11]This tree, as you can see, looks pretty healthy, a lot of green.

[00:00:15]Um >> [music] >> I've been treating this tree for probably going on 12 years.

[00:00:20]Um maybe 14.

[00:00:24]But it works. It can get expensive, but it works. It's cheaper than removing the tree, and plus you get to enjoy your tree.

[00:00:33]So, we're treating this tree today.

[00:00:36]Um [snorts] today's my birthday, so I'm just having an easy day, I guess.

[00:00:42]But treating [clears throat] this one, treated a couple apple trees earlier for apple scab.

[00:00:47]Um we uh mainly only treat trees >> [snorts] >> when they're fully leafed out with this is a tree IV, so I inject [music] the chemical directly into the tree, so there's no harm to any of the flowers or pollinators, anything like that. So.

[00:01:07]But yeah, we're just living up to our name, [music] Top Notch Tree Care. We're caring for this tree today.

[00:01:19]>> [snorts] >> Um yeah, it's kind of cloudy, but it's really good for the trees when it's not super hot. This tree just sucked this [music] stuff up pretty quick.

[00:01:30]Now, onto the next one, and then we're going to uh I'm going to treat a couple more today, and then I think we're going to prune all these trees >> [music] >> here in the next few weeks. Get them all trimmed off the house and the neighbor's house.

[00:01:42]Um get it out of that fir tree [music] and just shape them up and uh make this yard look really nice.
