Breaking human records means nothing if the machine can't even cross the finish line without a total system failure. It’s a classic case of high-tech hype masking a fundamental lack of engineering maturity.

China’s Humanoid Robot Beats Humans in Half Marathon… Then Crashes 🤖🇨🇳本站添加:
Chat GPT moment for robots have arrived.
A humanoid robot just ran half marathon in 50 minutes and 26 seconds. That's faster than the human world record. This happened at 2026 Beijing humanoid robot marathon. Separate tracks for humans versus robots. And this robot built by Honor just didn't finish, it dominated.
But here is an interesting part. It literally crashed meters before the finishing line and had to be picked up by humans. That is not perfection. This is engineering in progress. Last year, robots took 2 hours 40 minutes for the same race. This year, just 50 minutes.
Robots running with hard and 20 steps per minute, 20 plus kilometer per hour, high torque motors hitting 400 nm, liquid cooling just to keep them from overheating, real-time AI adjusting balance, stride, terrain. This is insanely hard physics. Another robot, A2, walked hard and 6 kilometers non-stop across cities. Different problem, same direction. Don't focus on the fall, focus on the trajectory.
Because next year, it probably won't fall.
