In Ludicurrus solo play, the bot moves by rolling the emperor die to determine its distance, with the empress's pity token allowing it to roll both dice when in last position; the bot does not place gladiators or god animals, does not interact with animals, and in combat rolls three dice where winning moves it forward three spaces while losing moves it backward three spaces. The player can use god symbols like Mercury (for movement), Diana (for speed), and Neptune (for gladiators) strategically, with the final Mercury symbol increasing gladiator overtake cost to five spaces and returning all race dice.

Welcome folks to the Hungry Gamer back with another play through. Today we're doing a solo play of Ludicrous from Ionic Studios.
Before I get started, please note that this is a sponsored video and because of that I will not be giving any of my thoughts on the game during this video.

Though as I said, today we'll be specifically playing the solo version.
In which case, I will be blue and our bot friend will be red. Before I get started, let's talk a little bit about how the bot is going to work. My turns will be exactly the same. And the difference for the bot are one, on its turn it will simply roll the emperor die and that's how far ahead it will move.
If it is ever in last and gets the empress's pity token, then she'll roll both of these dice. Additionally, the bot does not put out gladiators, it does not put out god animals, nor does it get bonuses when it lands on a god tile or penalties. It does, however, if it is the first one to reach the emperor's space there, it will put out one of the emperor animals. It also, as I said, does not interact with animals whatsoever. And if it is in combat with me or one of my gladiators, then it will roll three dice. Speaking of combat, if they win combat, then they get to move forward three spaces, but if they lose combat, they move backwards three spaces. And then finally, the emperor is always ambivalent to them and so emperor's favor does not matter to them.
The last thing I'll talk about is I am playing with the blue upgraded side, advanced side if you will. And what that does is it gives me different abilities here. You'll see I cannot get my final race die. Though if I get three Jupiter, I get to reroll combat dice. If I get my third Mercury out there, then my gladiators actually cost five to overtake instead of three to overtake. Neptune will get me my second gladiator, and then Diana just lets me move really, really fast.
>> [snorts] >> So, with that being said, I will move these things out of the way, and let's jump right in and see if I can't take home the win. And I'll go and just put that right over there.
>> [snorts] >> And so, as we can see, I have Emperor's Favor, Mercury, and Diana. And obviously, I want Diana. I do not have an Emperor's Favor, so I don't have to worry about using that. So, I'm going to go ahead and use my two Mercurys, which is going to move me eight.
And I almost got where I wanted to be.
So, I am, in fact, going to go ahead, and I guess I should leave that there as where I started. I'm going to go ahead and roll again, and if I'm lucky, get an Emperor's Favor and move one onto there, which will give me a boost forward. So, that's kind of my plan.
And I did, but unfortunately, I got two of them, and I don't want the emperor mad at me, so I will do my two, one, two, and I'll stop myself there.
>> [snorts] >> These do not get discarded. I almost forget that. And so, you know what?
Let's just Let's keep going. Let's see if I can get all the way around in one roll.
One instead of dice, I just say.
And ooh, that was almost bad. I only have a single die here to use, and that's going to be four.
One, two, three, and four.
I'm going to stop there, so I have discarded three dice, and that is my first turn, and let's move my checkpoint right up there.
And here comes the bad guys. Only three, one, two, three. Nice and easy, back to me.
All [snorts] right, so move that. Here we go.
All right, so well, Neptune it is which still gets me three spaces each. So, we have 1 2 3 4 5 6.
And now I'm getting close.
I'm going to stop there cuz I don't think there's real value in me spending and risking losing more dice just to get to there.
So, I'm down to two dice left. I'll leave those there. And oh, I almost forgot. I should have rolled the god die last time cuz they should have had the emperor's pity. So, before I roll this this is for last turn, so it should be another six. 1 2 3 4 5 6. They don't activate god spaces. Now, this turn and 13. And so, we have 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13. They took the lead from me. So, now I will get to this here. And I want to put that right there on Mercury.
And we're going to get an animal.
And we'll put the lion out. There we go.
So, I'm probably going to be fighting that lion.
So, this is probably not a bad time for me to put my gladiator out. And so, I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to place my gladiator right here.
And oh, gosh, I'm worried about that.
The animals oh, I'm worried about everything. Actually, you know what? I want them to deal with that. I'll put it right there.
All right.
And these come to here and here we go and whoo, I do have it.
And I will simply go to here. I must stop here.
Don't have to worry about the lion. And I'll get an ambrosia. And so, first thing I will do is I'm going to lock in my final Mercury.
Meaning now it'll cost five to overtake my gladiators.
And I get all my race dice back. There we go.
And now our enemy goes. There is no empress's pity, so we just roll this one die.
And it's going to move eight.
So we have 1 2 3 4.
But then it can not do five to pass that.
To overtake that, I should say. So it'll just stop right there. And then the animal will move.
Eight.
1 2 3 4 and four.
And again, it cannot, so it'll stop right there.
And now it's going to be interesting for me because I'm going to have to overtake.
So I'm going to need a pretty big roll here.
And yeah, oh, well, here we go.
Well, you know, what? That's not bad.
I'm going to take the emperor's favor, those two dice, and just move two cuz I don't lose those dice. And let's take it again. Here we go.
And I'm looking for woo, I did get some Zeus. That's only going to be two each, so that'll be 1 2.
And I can't get any further.
But that is what it is. So I'll spin these and I'm now stuck right Oh, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. I am behind.
Put that back. So I do have the emperor's empress's pity, which I would have put back on Mercury, so nothing's going to happen with that. Still going to use these two, which will put me right there. And I think I'm going to stop because I'm not confident that I have what I need to get through there and not wind up in a fight that I can't finish. Wait.
Little bit of reverse. I made a mistake.
I should have landed, so I'm going to leave myself here. I made a little bit of a mistake, but I'm going to rectify this. Because I didn't have enough space, I should have landed on the actual space. So, if my racer here winds up defeating my gladiator, then the animal is going to get to keep on going. It's for I'll remove the animal back to here.
Put this on it.
>> [snorts] >> And I will move myself back a little bit just to get things right. I'm going to keep my rules cuz they weren't very good rules for me. So, first I did that.
Then I will have done that.
>> [snorts] >> Sorry about the mistake there. So, first thing here is there is combat. So, the bot here will roll three dice. And I get a choice. And so, on this space there's those. So, I'm going to go ahead and roll two dice.
So, here's my roll.
And I got one, so that means I have three battle points.
And they roll, and they have two of them.
So, they have four battle points. My gladiator is no more.
>> [snorts] >> Which means that he moves 1 2 3.
And this animal should have gone.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 to there.
>> [snorts] >> Then, as I said for me, I went two and then 1 2 3 4 to there.
Now I'm back to where I should be. Now, my question is I might want to go for it.
Cuz I have a good chance of getting something here. If I can get through that mess, that'll be really good for me.
So, I'm going to do it. I'm going to keep going.
And I'm looking for Diana, great, and Jupiter. All right, so I got two Dianas, which I'm going to use, which is going to be six movements. So, 1 2 3 4 5 6.
I will overtake to there. Now, I will stop here. So, what I really need to do is one, I give the Empress's pity back. And what I really want to do is I really need to get my other gladiator.
Cuz losing that gladiator so quick, that really hurt. But, here we go. They have the Empress's pity, and they roll Oh my gosh, 17.
That's not good at all for me.

We'll stop her right there. Now, they're in the lead, so they would normally cause an animal to spawn, but there's still one out, so nothing changes there.
And then, I now have the Empress's pity.
And again, I'm going to put it right there.
And the animal's going to move four. 1 2 3 4. Okay, so now I have to fight.
Oof.
Not good, not good, not good. Okay. So, they're going to use three dice. On this base, there's three things, so I'm again only going to try using two dice. So, here's my roll, and I got Oh, shoot. I have three points.
Ooh.
And they only have two. So, I have defeated the lion, which is out of the game.
Since I won the fight, and the emperor is currently happy with me, I get to reclaim one of my dice.
And that's it.
But, not bad.
>> [snorts] >> But, I'm still stuck all the way back here.
So, then, we come back over here, put the god die aside, and five. 1 2 3 4 5. I almost forgot.
They're on lap two. I really need to get something going here.
Not a great roll, but I could use my one Mercury symbol, which will be four. 1 2 3 4.
And I still have the Mercury symbol, so let's go for it. Let's push it.
Oh, oh, good, good, good.
So, I can take Neptune.
Yeah, let's take Neptune and go 1 2 3.
And I will have to stop there. I just don't have enough to get going. I need a really really good roll to get to there.
Two dice left.
And they're only going 1 2 3. That's a very good chance for me. And here we go, two dice.
And Neptune, which will take me 1 2 3.
And now I am down to one die, so I have to stop there. And here they go.
Eight. Oh my gosh.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and 8.
Now, I'm not quite sure how this mashes up because if I roll the die and I can use it, then I would be having to lose my last die.
However, if I don't succeed on moving, I would gain a die back. But if I get to the Emperor's space, then I get all my dice back. So, I'm going to go ahead because I'm losing, I'm going to say if I get to the Emperor's space, then I get my dice back and that'll be fine. So, here we go.
We're rolling this.
And it's the Emperor, so nothing's going to happen there, so I get one die back.
This may be the end of my game here.
An eight. Whoops, going to stop there again.
And now we have a rhino that'll be chasing me.
And I roll my two dice.
And thankfully, that will count.
I spend that. I use the Emperor's pity, gets me to there.
Get all my dice back.
>> [snorts] >> And put that there. I don't know that I'm going to be able to catch, but maybe I'll get lucky here.
Now, I am on roll two.
And first, it rolls six. 1 2 3 4 5 6.
Oh, but I also get an Ambrosia. So, I will So, I was going to try to get my other gladiator.
But, I have to get all the way around here before it gets here.
But, I think that's still my only chance. So, I'm going to put it here on Neptune and hope I get lucky.
>> [snorts] >> Well, I got a lot of Neptune.
So, it's four each. So, you know, let's do it.
So, that's going to be 16 spaces.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16.
And I'm definitely going to stop there and hope for a bad roll.
Oh. At the end of the at the end of this turn and I forgot to move the rhino last time.
So, I move three. 1 2 3.
Now, our enemy goes. Oh, you're kidding me.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.
And they're just about to the end of my run here.
Nine. Good lord. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9.
Well, let's see. I still have the pity.
So, come on, Mercury.
No Mercury.
But, I did get a single Neptune. So, I'm still in the running, as it were. So, that'll be four.
1 2 3 4 and I normally wouldn't do this, but I think I I think I have no choice. I have to try to get there to maybe have a chance.
And I did. So, I did get there.
Get all my dice back. I get my other gladiator.
Which I will put right here to kind of slow things down.
And here we go.
6 1 2 3 4 5 6. So, it's going to stop right there. It's going to fight. So, it's rolling three dice.
Again, I'm going to roll two dice. Hope I get lucky. So, here's it's three.
It has nothing.
Here's my two.
I also have nothing. And we tied.
Which as near as I can tell means nothing happens. And 1 2 and 3. So, this is actually good. So, I'm going to reclaim.
Put it right there. Oh, wait. I can't do that. I can either place or reclaim. So, I will just do my reclaim and I will hope for a 1 2 or 1 2 3 or 4 or no, but for 1 2 or 3 on the next roll.
So, I got to go big. So, here we go.
That ah Emperor die.
I have to use that, so I will.
Yikes, bad roll. But, I do have two Zeus.
So, I will go 1 2 3 4.
And I have to keep going.
Oh, this should be here.
Okay, that's not terrible. I will use my Mercurys, which are four each. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. Here we go. Coming around.
Got a chance.
Oh, now the question is Oh, I'm here.
So, that's a should be a god boost, but I do not have any in Diana. And they're going to put out their deer right here.
And I think ah, it's only Diana. No, it's Diana and Mercurys here because I still have the pity.
So, this is where I win or lose on this roll. Should be two animals.
They don't care about the bot.
I'm going to do it. I'm going to go for it. I need Diana or Mercury.
Boom.
That's going to be the game.
And now they go.
And boink.
Victory.
All right. Well, very quick, very fast.
That is ludicrous.
And obviously I was only playing with a single bot, but that gives you a pretty good idea of how the bot works. You can add this bot into a solo game as I did.
You could have multiple bots in a solo game. You can even And you can also put it in a game with two or three players just to kind of bulk it up just a little bit. But, there you have it, folks.
