Low pressure brings cloud, wind, rain. High pressure was slowly building from the south and that brings more settled conditions, dry, sunny, warm.

Cloudy skies across much of the UK with plenty of sunshine around. You see thicker cloud moving from southwest Scotland to northeast Scotland this afternoon bringing with it a few light showers.
